THAT should be enough…read more Honestly, I really would NOT understand why they are still in business through all these years seeing that whatever they sell, one can probably get cheaper either at Meijer which is less than a mile north OR the TWO gas stations even LESS than that! I would not have had any issue with this store because hey, I DO believe in supporting your local business but when it's a hole-in-a-wall place with MATCHING BAD SERVICE, that's another story. Where is this coming from? The long and short of it is I'm on my way home from Meijer, I realized I forgot to buy a lottery ticket. I stopped by this store to buy it. After I was TOLD to wait for about 5 minutes -- because the guy behind the cashier was counting money and we all know THAT is a good thing to do IN A LIQUOR STORE where your customers can SEE YOU -- he helped me with my ticket and proceeded to entertain the customer behind me even though I STILL have some questions regarding one of their merchandise! The customer even KNEW I was not done! How rude! They lost MY BUSINESS that time -- and quite possibly, future ones. I will ONLY be back if it happens that I forgot to buy my lottery ticket from Meijer again. Maybe even then, I'll drive a couple of more blocks to the MOBIL station and get my ticket there so I don't have to stop here! :(

If you're getting off the bus I can imagine that this is a convenient stop but not a place I'd frequent for party store pick-ups. They did seem to have a world class selection of Kool-Aid mix envelopes at the counter though - yeah I'm not sure what that's about either... Parking in front is convenient and parking in the rear offers entrance through the back of the store. If you're looking for something other than cigarettes, lighters, candy, or pork rinds you'lll need to go elsewhere.

What's the most important thing to find locally when you first move into a new town? That's right:…read morea beer store. This one happens to be very conveniently located, which is nice, because I can't see driving across town to get to this place. The beer prices are not bad, and the liquor selection is not huge but they have pretty much what normal people might want. They do have a lot of half-cases, where they've cut apart a case of beer and taped each side shut to make it into two 12-packs. Is that shady? Yeah, a little. The neighborhood feels a little shady too. I would stop here by myself during the day or with a friend at night, but I wouldn't spend much time lingering around by myself after dark. We've seen quite an interesting cast of characters wander in and out while we were trying to decide which beer to get, and the owner seems to know the regulars. I learned that most regulars at shady liquor stores do not have all their original teeth, and it doesn't seem to bother them at all. It bills itself as a one-stop shopping place, and it certainly does have at least 2 kinds of chips, some gum, no-brand plus-size pantyhose, and several different magazines, some of them with their covers obscured to protect one's dainty sensibilities. Plus if you're hungry and don't mind a little dust, you can pick up some Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee or Rice-A-Roni along with your beverage. Bottom line: I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to NOT shop here either. If it's on my way home and I need to restock the beer fridge, I'll probably be spotted in there again.

Weak on beer, decent spirits selection, open LATE, handy on-the-go…read more This place is right on the corner of Vernor and Clark. They don't offer anything surprising in terms of beer (classic lites, canadian beers, mexican beers, maybe heineken and stella artois, and your standard 40s). But they DO have a decent spirits selection, nothing rare or extraordinary, but well stocked with a good spread between high, middle, and low shelf brands of your standard boozes. For their grand opening, maybe a year ago, they put a giant kiddy-pool right in front of the entrance (on the inside), then filled it with ice and 40s. I'm glad they don't do that any more. You can almost always find a space right in front of the door on Vernor to park, and it's open until 2:30am every day. Plus the people who run it are super friendly and professional. I consider this my go-to "convenience" seller of spirits when I need to replace a bottle of whatever.

LOL, I have lived within walking distance of this place for the last eight years, and I am not sure why this is not my default liquor store. Over the years, when I did come in here, it was always the same guy every time I came in. he was always a super cool Dude. Also, the amount of booze they have in this store is really quite impressive. Again I am unsure why this place is not my default liqueur store. I will have to admit that it looks like a sketchy party store from the outside that is attached to a house. But again, that should not stop you from going in.
