So I called Pioneer Automotive to see if they could take a look a my vehicle. Doug answered the phone and from the very start was the epitome of stellar customer service. He was friendly, informative and made me feel valued by listening to my concerns. They told me to bring my truck in and they would look at it that day. They thoroughly inspected my truck and ran numerous tests on it to isolate the problem, and during that time they gave me follow up calls on the progress. It was done in no time, and the charge for service was well below what I'd expected. The main recommendation I received was a PCM recalibration recall related to random downshifting into 1st gear, which is completely unrelated to my stalling issue. They also told me to reinstall the OEM throttle body and intake, even though the problems originally started while the truck still had the factory parts installed. I only installed quality OEM+ aftermarket parts afterward while attempting to troubleshoot the issue myself. To make matters worse, they recommended a rear differential fluid service and used the attached fluid sample as justification, despite me having personally changed the fluid only ~2,000 miles earlier. When I mentioned that, I was told the truck may just be a "lemon" because it already had multiple issues. Overall, I left feeling like they were more interested in upselling services than actually diagnosing the problem.

They wouldn't help at all. I wanted a $60.99 refund for not defining the part was two part. So stupid. You can't have one side and not the other. These guys aren't even open on the weekends!! I don't know how they stay in business. It was a 30,000 mile check up!! So I called on a Monday to complain. I was told Nicholas would research it and get back to me. Exactly 5 days later no phone call back and they are closed till Monday. So I called back the next Monday and were given the run around about one part being sold as two separate pieces. Desperate to cool off the car I stopped by Bryant Auto to see if they could take a look. The owner, Tom, took the time from another project to troubleshoot it for me. After a quick 5 minute discussion about the issue and my lame attempts at self diagnosing, he determined I'd lost all of my refrigerant. He dutifully inspected the system, performed a vacuum test to check for leaks, and reloaded the system with refrigerant. Wife and I are so thankful that he was able to squeeze us in and used his expertise to quickly take care of the problem. Highly recommend!

When I picked it up, the A/C was completely nonfunctional. I raised the issue immediately, and although they admitted to removing and reinstalling the compressor during the repair, they claimed it wasn't their fault. Now I'm being told it will cost $3,500 to fix because metal was found in the system, supposedly ruining the compressor. But the A/C was working flawlessly before the service and failed the moment I got the car back. They refuse to take any responsibility for the damage. I'm extremely disappointed in both the service and the complete lack of accountability. I expected better from a Subaru dealership. Subaru of America has been no help either--completely useless. I will never buy another Subaru, and I'll certainly never return to this location.
