After receiving a voicemail from Vanessa…read moreabout potential job opportunities that matched my skill set, I was disappointed to learn the next day that I did not qualify for any of the positions. Vanessa advised me to explore job openings on platforms like Indeed and Monster. However, I noticed that a job was posted on Indeed that I qualified for, and it seemed that they were withholding this information on purpose. This feels like employment discrimination. I have four business degrees and possess the skills and experience required for the recently posted jobs on Indeed, which only require a high school diploma. I currently work in an office with similar daily tasks to many of the positions listed this week. It feels unprofessional to receive a call about jobs I qualify for, only to be told the next day that they must have contacted the wrong person. They keep insisting that work is slow and that they cater only to a niche job market, yet they continue to post jobs that I am qualified for multiple times this week.

I'm never the person to leave bad reviews, however this was the absolute worst experience job…read moresearching I've ever had in my life. I had to take a week to get all my facts together and calm down but here it is. It started way back in December of 2023 when I applied for an election poll position I was told to fill some forms out online and when I was finished someone would call talking about next steps. I got a call fill some more forms out and the next steps were to wait until January to get instructions on the background and drug test. January 22 rolls around I go out to their office to do the cotton swab test and after received a paper stating on February the 20th I'd have to attend a training that would be around 4 hours and I would receive an email later on in the week to do a behavioral assessment . As you can guess January comes and goes I call they say don't worry they're sending them out and I'd be notified when they were sent. Another week same thing, another week same thing... Until I call again on February 19th comes and I call again, (something they should've done because they promised they would and it's their job!) and ask what's going on they said there sending codes out this week for the behavioral assessment and the training would be pushed back. Super inconvenient as I called off from my current job as I was told there was only 2 days available to do the training and I couldn't start the job without it. Super annoying but mistakes happen. Also, to top it off the codes I was sent didn't work and when I asked what to do next I was told to wait because they had to get "new codes" sent out and that would take no longer then the weekend. Again I wait a week no codes were sent until, last week February 28th I call again and I'm asked if I went to any training as the position starts next week. I pause because there's no way they could've actually expected me to have been somewhere without having prior knowledge to the training and proceed to say "no you were supposed to send me an email/call when you had the details." I'm then told there's one last training tomorrow and if I couldn't make it then I wouldn't be able to start working. Shocked I then ask her why wasn't I alerted as to any of the training dates from the last week to now and she says she's "really sorry for the inconvenience". Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable so I proceed to ask how's that fair to me when I allocated over 2 months with the assumption I'd be starting work and again met with the same response. These people don't care about their job and probably won't care about you. So if you're looking for a place to work I'd look elsewhere. If I could give em a 0 I would.

The service that they provide is really incredible and professional. I have been through several other agencies in the past and I must say Kimco has been the most reliable job agency that I've ever used. Everyone there is very friendly and so helpful. My job recruiter Susie is so amazing at what she does and always has my best interest. She has been there for me and worked tirelessly to get me working. I am so grateful for her and for the other Kimco employees like Yemi and Martha who have always assisted me with whatever I needed, whether it was getting paid on time or sending messages, etc... Since day one they're professionalism has truly stood out from the rest. I am very confident in Kimco and will forever be grateful to this company, especially to the staff members that I mentioned. They work hard and are dedicated employees. They are well-trained, trusted and provide a great service to people like me and countless others looking for employment opportunities. Mark A. Barger

This is one of the lesser-known employment agencies in the area. I had a chance to visit them…read morebecause I applied for a position they advertised online. Upon my arrival, I was given a small stack of paperwork I needed to date and sign relating to the client company where I was to be assigned. Once that was completed, they had me go to a vacant computer to fill out more forms, this time pertaining to my personal information. When the electronic forms were all done, I had to take a typing test. The computer I used to take the typing test was S L O W and could not keep up with my typing speed on the keyboard. The website for the typing test also kept generating lots of pop-up ads which slowed me down even further. I took the test a number of times before I got a passing/satisfactory score. Drug testing was also required, so I was given a small plastic container and led to the restroom, where I gave a urine sample. Finally, I watched an introductory/safety video which was required viewing for all new applicants. Before I left, the recruiter said she would contact me on the following Monday (this was on a Friday when I came in) so that I could start work on Tuesday. When Monday came around, I never received a call, so I called them before the end of the day to find out what was going on. I was told by another recruiter (the one I originally dealt with was out of the office) that they were going to have a meeting with the client company to find out how many people were needed (or something to that effect). Needless to say, I was NOT happy! X-( Lastly, I got a call that Friday letting me know I will be working the following Tuesday at the client company, a local non-profit. Overall, this agency did as they promised. However, I took away a star for being given erroneous information. They shouldn't be telling applicants these things unless they were TRUTHFUL! I took away another star because the computer I used to take the typing test was slow and full of pop-ups. Employment agencies can be helpful in a job search, but I truly feel you're better off finding a job on your own.

Pirate staffing is an ethical employment agency that typically sends you on one day assignments with a one-day commitment. At best, it's a full time temp job with unlimited (but unpaid) days off. At worse, you don't get called into work that day. After you sign up with them, the courteous (and they are courteous) employment specialists will call you and have you working as early as the next day. Sometimes, they'll need someone day of, and you get to be at work on a day you would have otherwise wasted. It's not the most glamorous work, but all work is good work. And you can learn a lot from the different business and warehouses they send you to. And most of them are local. Sometimes as little as 5 minutes from the agency. The best part for me, is that the environment is always changing. Since you can technically work five different jobs on a given week (and get paid the very next day), at five different places, if there's ever a job or a co-worker, or a boss you don't like- just tough it out that day, and ask not to be sent there again. But the truth is, most places they contract with are staffed with genuine people. Nice people, with good attitudes. I'd recommend this place to anyone who was looking for a job ASAP, and doesn't have the time, money or babysitting to commit to a regular schedule. They also work with you if you need to take the bus.
