I called the office to inquire about the positions I had applied for and met with a recruiter/Ryan. I was then asked to attend a Zoom interview where I was required to turn on my camera and discuss my resume. In the end, the outcome was pointless, as nothing came from the interview. The entire conversation could have been handled through an email instead of requiring a video interview. It felt like an unnecessary use of my time, especially since no meaningful interview or job-specific discussion took place. Do not waste people's time! read more

I submitted my application and resume here a week ago. After receiving a voicemail from Vanessa about potential job opportunities that matched my skill set, I was disappointed to learn the next day that I did not qualify for any of the positions. Vanessa advised me to explore job openings on platforms like Indeed and Monster. However, I noticed that a job was posted on Indeed that I qualified for, and it seemed that they were withholding this information on purpose. This feels like employment discrimination. I have four business degrees and possess the skills and experience required for the recently posted jobs on Indeed, which only require a high school diploma. I currently work in an office with similar daily tasks to many of the positions listed this week. It feels unprofessional to receive a call about jobs I qualify for, only to be told the next day that they must have contacted the wrong person. "You would be more attractive if you smiled more" this is the type of advice you're going to get from Haley the Branch Manager at ultimate staffing. I would not recommend this staffing company at all. He didn't tell me to smile but he did say he thought my tone wasn't enthusiastic enough when talking to him, not his client the employer, him. I had common industry questions as well as pay structure questions that he was not able to provide as it was not relayed by the employer to him. He told me my best option was to schedule and interview so I could be put in front of the hr rep that would get my questions answered. I was unavailable for the first time he gave me. We were in discussion to try and re-schedule. I communicated on the phone and in an email my availability. The next time he called I assumed it was to discuss the details. I answered and said Hi, then how can I help you? His response was am I bothering you? I responded no, but do you have an update, very directly. His immediate response was look im not trying to bother you so let me know if you're not interested anymore because from your tone you don't seem very enthusiastic. And I told him, that's interesting I'm wondering you would ask this question to a male candidate? This got him on the defensive and said I'm not sure what you mean by that. And I told him that his comment and feedback is very coded. I was direct. We'd been going back and forth to discuss the dates I have him full availability for two days and limited availability for 1 day based on my schedule and wanted to know what new information he had for me. I told him I've worked with multiple recruiters before. But they were all female. I was complimented on my professional directness and my tone. I've never had this criticism from them. I also told him context is important. My communication with him to determine dates and times is something that requires me to be direct and in an interview I would bring a different tone as he calls it to that interaction. His response was that this is a red flag so he didn't want to present me if I'm not enthusiastic about this opportunity. He was also "sorry" for me assuming he was being offensive. But he's been in the industry for a long time and that he knows what clients are looking for. To which my reply was I was being direct I already relayed I was interested in an interview to get information from the company that he was unable to give. I assumed this call would be for that. And I didn't appreciate his condescending attitude and defensiveness and reiterated again I don't feel he would've given this criticism or would've responded this aggressively to a male candidate. And if this is how he's responding to criticism as well it's a reflection of the company culture and I don't want to be represented by him anyway and told him this should be the end of our professional communications. I currently work in aerospace and it is a very male dominated industry I know coded sexism when I hear it and experience and I call it out. I would encourage anyone reading this review to instead check out Robert Half (el segundo) career strategies (Los Angeles) or 24seven (Santa Monica) all agencies I've been placed with for temp and direct hire positions and they have a culture of diversity and inclusion not antiquated misogynistic views of what a female candidate should be. read more

I tried AppleOne first, but thought I'd go to another staffing service. I just turned in my application and I was told by the receptionist to sign up online. Which I totally forgot to do. Luckily Doug saw it and called me. We met up for an interview, filled up some paper work and did a video for their clients to watch. Which I thought was pretty cool. Within that week I already had interviews and sadly AppleOne had none. I had interviews and temp jobs already and still nothing from AppleOne. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have years worth of office experience in a large electrical company, a job I got into with no experience thanks to a different employment agency. With that being said I came across USS yelp and website and applied online. 2 months go by, I hear nothing and can't even finish setting up my profile. Today I decided to come in person because I would like to continue gaining experience in an office setting. I felt uneasy so I called first to ask if it was ok I came in to get the ball rolling and after not 5 minutes getting off the phone with Maureen Abad I receive an email from her saying my qualifications aren't a match. I had read so many good reviews about this place and was really looking forward to meeting with someone and at least TRYING to find a match for me. I've waited over a year to write this review. I've honestly had ups and downs with this agency, and I think I'm finally in a place where I can leave honest and useful feedback about my experience over this 15 month span. I was initially contacted by them in response to an executive assistant job I had applied for. I thought I was applying directly through the company and had never considered using an agency. I was new to the area at the time and didn't have any job referrals or connections, so I was willing to give it a try. Alan told me that after looking through my resume, he didn't think I was the best match for the company I had applied for, but that he had a few others in mind and to come interview in their office. I came in a few days later and filmed a "commercial" to let potential employers get a feel for who I am. The process was strange to me, but what really drew me in was Alan's personality - he was upbeat, encouraging, friendly...everything you'd hope for when you're feeling vulnerable. After a great start, things got a little rough. I was definitely let down a few times, or I was told there would be interviews that never happened. There was constant communication which was nice, but for awhile I felt like it was all a waste of time. Then several weeks after my initial interview, maybe even months, Sonya called me with a lead on a favorite company of hers that she felt I was a match for. I did a "working interview" for a week and it was great, but weeks again went by and nothing. There were eventually more calls with other leads that didn't go anywhere. Then I was assigned to a job that was temp-to-hire that I absolutely HATED. I felt so defeated and hopeless and wanted to give up and move back home. Then I found a permanent job on my own that turned out to be even worse...bad luck! Then out of nowhere, probably 5 MONTHS after that working interview I did, I was invited back for another interview with the company Sonya matched me with. Now fast forward to today, I'm still with that company 6 months later. I hope to be there indefinitely, and I credit my current happiness (after a VERY long time of struggling) to the persistence of the HR department at this company and to Ultimate Staffing for supporting me and staying in my corner throughout this process. I hope this review is helpful to anyone who is feeling discouraged because things did not happen quickly with me. It took months and a lot of disappointments and uncertainty before getting here. But the company I'm now with is a dream come true and the salary is exactly what I had requested. I do feel they put a lot of effort into matching me with a company that fits my personality and compensation requirements. Hailey, Maureen & Doug all deserve special shoutouts as well for their contributions to this process, and they continue to be easy to interact with any time I've needed anything. Okay. I've been writing my review and deleting it for the past two (maybe three) hours because I can't decide if I want to write a detailed paragraph or do bullet points. I want readers to read my review but not want to stop because it's too long and not straight to the point. So here it goes: **LONG STORY SHORT** 1. I went to their open interview a few months ago while STILL employed. 2. Doug Vaughn was assigned to be my recruiter-- amazing and responsive (email, email-text and via phone)!! 3. Maureen, their experience coordinator who is the first person you see when you walk in, has always been so welcoming and comfortable from the start. 4. The team-- supportive, positive, and helpful! 5. I scored a job that I am 100% satisfied with and can see myself being there long-term, even after failing two interviews prior! THIRD'S THE CHARM! 6. 10/10 Recommend. 7. Stay positive, confident, and patient. 8. Communicate between BOTH parties is a must and the master key. 9. Ask lots of questions. 10. Here's a 10th bullet point to balance it out because balance is everything. **SHORT STORY LONG** I went to their open interview a few months ago (I think November?) and still employed (yes, employed). I was interviewed shortly with Doug. He advised that I keep in contact with him every week to following up and also to show that I am still interested and available for a new position. He asked me what career or position I was aiming towards, what pay I preferred and what pay he shouldn't waste our time talking about, and what distance I would be willing to commute to. The following week or so, I was instructed to come in at any day and time most convenient to me to do a video interview (considering that I was still employed so my timing wasn't so flexible). They are so accommodating! A video interview allows you to record yourself to introduce who you are. Maureen helped eased my tension and provided honest tips/advices. I also had to do some assessment tests to place me in an appropriate position (done in the comfort of my home by the way). The tests are not too hard for those who have the Microsoft Word and Excel experiences already (I think Powerpoint was also one, can't remember..). However, if you do not have too much experience, I would highly recommend reading/watching through the tutorial which is an option to choose before you begin the tests. Since the interview with Doug, I made sure I did my part and communicate with him as he with me. Every time I sent him an email, he was responsive and quick-- never a day late unless it was after hours, of course. I stayed positive and I stayed confident because energy is contagious and the good energy gives the best results! Doug would send me emails of a position with the requirement skills or qualification the company is seeking (and of course the pay rate and hours) as soon as one opens. There were definitely times that I had to kindly decline which he understood 100%, didn't give up and continued searching. He scored me THREE interviews!! The first two, unfortunately, I wasn't qualified enough. You know what they say though? First the worst. Second the best. Third is the one with the hairy chest? Golden bird? Treasure chest? THIRD'S THE CHARM, how 'bout that! Overall, my experience with Ultimate Staffing has been great and I especially thank Doug and Maureen for that. I dealt with only one agency a few years ago and it was difficult to talk to my recruiter because she made everyone felt little. Ultimate Staffing sees eye to eye with me-- not over me! And quite honestly, this agency does the hard work for you. All you have to do is the basic tests and some paperwork. After that, they are hunting to find the right position for you! I could definitely go on and on but I am overthinking this review. I might end up deleting it soon if I don't post it now. Gotta go now! In general, I've had pretty subpar experiences with recruiters reaching out to me. Typically they have one specific role in mind, and if you don't like it or don't fit the mold of it, you'll never hear from them again. I had the exact opposite experience with Doug @ Ultimate staffing. He originally reached out in March with an opportunity for me. I unfortunately had applied to the position directly with the company prior to Doug reaching out, so he could not be involved in that process. About a month later he reached out to follow up and see if I heard back from the company I applied for - I did not. He reached out again a week later with a new opportunity for me. He immediately walked me through the pre-employment screenings and got an interview scheduled for me. The process was a bit dragged out by the company, (through no fault of Doug's or Ultimate Staffing) but Doug was extremely helpful and supportive the entire time. Michelle @ ultimate staffing was also helpful. Both her and Doug maintained a super prompt line of communication throughout the entire process. Their efforts eventually lead to an offer, which I chose to decline due to an existing offer for another role. I called to checkin to see if they had a position and the Branch manager picked up the phone and told me that there is no need to call them that if there is a position available then they will reach out to me other than that dont call. You can call recruiters at robert half for updates, you can call mattson Resources for updates (if or when the pick up that is), etc but here, they will have a guard dog outside to bark at you until you want to hang up the phone. read more

My recruiter was Jessica Lanza, and man, she genuinely impressed me with her thoroughness, attentiveness, and overall professionalism. After submitting my resume and interviewing with her over the phone, she updated me regularly and consistently to let me know what options were available. With patience, I got lined up with a position that played very well to my strengths and experience, was within a reasonable commuting distance, and I was excited to really dig in to the new role during my probationary period (2 months). During this whole time Jessica was always available to make sure my questions and concerns were answered and addressed; even when she was on another call, she would promptly return my call over phone or email within 5-10 minutes. I really felt valued and taken care of. It really made a big difference, you really felt like they were on your side working hard to make sure you had the best possible shot at landing a permanent position. There was one occasion where I had filled out my timecard incorrectly, and even though I shouldn't have gotten paid for that week since I had to subsequently submit it late, she found a way to make sure I got paid on time. Going above and beyond, pulling strings, simply working hard -- you just really felt like she was in your corner. It's this kind of attention to small things, to seemingly intangible things, that create this encompassing sense of "safeness;" she's dependable, she's reliable, and I felt like I had nothing to fear since she had my back. I was offered a full-time, permanent position with the company I had contracted with, and I can honestly say it would not have been possible without Jessica's help. Jessica, thank you. Sincerely.
