This breakfast make me want to move to Copenhagen. The friendly service, the charming simplicity of the restaurant and outdoor seating, and the deliciousness of it all. That spicy carrot apple juice, the homemade breads and pastries, the perfect oat milk latte.....

They don't do fancy brunch arrangements like other brunch cafes, but there's something about this place that makes you feel like you belong at home. I went in here on a Saturday morning and there was a couple eating quietly on the corner, an elderly man reading newspaper in other corner and a man was just sipping his coffee peacefully. It seems like that neighbourhood place that somehow managed to escape the eyes of the tourists. I ordered their "morning plate" that consists of a croissant, rye bread, a soft-boiled egg, cheese, avocado and a small glass of yoghurt with fruits with my flat white (soy milk). It seems simple and it was simple but they were delicious. This place is on the quiet side of Christianshavn, so perhaps the tourists never made it this far, but it's definitely a place that is worth going back.

Parterre is one of my favorite coffee shops to work in Copenhagen. I love the atmosphere, coffee, avocado toast, hip-hop music, what more can you ask for in a study space? The space is limited if you have a laptop but if you come on a weekday there shouldn't be a problem. This is also a really nice spot to grab coffee with a friend as it's located right next to the canal, which is the perfect spot to take a walk after grabbing a bite to eat. The food menu is small but they do it right. I love love their avocado toast on rye. My favorite is the one with smoked salmon, it's amazing!! As for drinks, I've ordered coffee and chai which are both very good, but flat white is my go-to. I'm currently back in the states and I miss this place so much!

Why did they open this business after I moved away from christianshavn? :) I was living on just the next block! I'm jaleaous of the people living there now! This place is great for breakfast-brunch style. They have a great coffee, WiFi, seating outside, views of the canal .... not so many tourists. All you need for a relaxing break. I recommend this place for sure. But I would do something more about interior. I would suggest making it more suitable to the surrounding location. I have to mention the barista! He knows what he is doing. I ordered a flat white to-go and it was so beautiful I didn't want to close it with the top! Go for it and let us know your experience! Don't forget, life is tasty!

    Flot førjulsstemning hos Parterre!

Parterre is indeed very, very nice! I visited one November morning with CM Camilla and Anne Marte S. and it seemed like everyone had a good start to their day! Unfortunately for the rest of Copenhagen, we were the only ones who had discovered Parterre this morning. Which meant that we had the charmingly decorated joint to ourselves. I decided to get the "Christianshavn morgenmad", even though the "Avocacomad" that the others had, indeed did look yummylicious! That's definitely going to be my choice the next time I visit. And it must surely be a next time, because Parterre was too dainty and sweet not to be frequented by moi. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself.. The morgenmad consisted of a bun, cheese, jam, some syrup, orange juice and some very tasty skyr with müsli. A decent and filling start to the day! Ok price-wise. Location wise, it's close to the central Christianshavn, but with a tad more quiet location and with a nice view over the canal. Be prepared for biking over cobble stones, which can be an experience that truly wakes you up in the morning. The staff was helpful and nice, the cortado was great and the food was just right.

People I know have been posting images from Parterre at Instagram all summer, so when I finally got a chance to try it a few days ago, I was quite curious. Parterre is situated about 200 meters from the main square at Christianshavn - which I think is a good thing. That means that it takes some effort to find it - and that people drinking coffee there has chosen to drink there coffee there because it's good, and not just because it was the first option they saw. When that's said, I think that Parterre is the sweetest little place. In my opinion Christianshavn lacked something like this - a small café with personality. It's a father and son owning the café, and if you ask for the story about how they came up with the idea for the café, they'll probably tell it to you. Parterre opens early in the morning (7AM), so I went for breakfast. The menu wasn't the longest in the world, so it was quite easy to come to a decision. I went for a coffee, a bun with cheese and jam and a croissant - it was all good. My friend tried the juice and the mozzarella sandwich, which was good as well. Finally, lets talk about the furniture and the interior design. The main reason that everyone seems to post photos from here at Instagram. The café has a big table in the middle, and a few seats in the window. The chairs around the big table is a mix of old and new, and different colors. It's pretty - like in an interior magazine. Yet another reason to pop by.

Slightly hidden at the end of the canal, Parterre is a sanctuary or an oasis from busy life. With a subdued palette of white and touches of pastel green and blue decorations, it has a minimalistic french chic style to it. The tables have an array of flowers and tiny tea lights as well as some light reading material. It offers seriously good coffee and fresh pastries and bakes. The ambience is calming and relaxing with soft background music. This is the perfect place to sit and let your mind wonder.

Parterre is just the epitome of loveliness, but I dare say, is it closed for construction??? I cycled past it yesterday and it seemed as though there were a renovation occurring. Be warned and check to make sure it's open before going! Anyway, if it is open, you must definitely go! Beautifully eclectic tables and chairs in this airy-looking little shop make for a wonderful morning or afternoon spent with a friend. We didn't try the food, but the plates being enjoyed by other patrons looked amazing. Beautiful shop in a beautiful setting with beautiful coffee.

i love the environment of this cafe, definitely brings out what 'hygge' means. I love the plants, the turquoise pots, the hot air balloon decor, the chair.. everything! I had skyr med müsli, brød med avocado, and Cacao. I would say the yogurt and cacao were normal. Powdered hot chocolate alert. but the avocado surprised me, the combination with herbs and salt was really good. The avocado was fresh!:) Too bad they didnt have their chocolate cake today, I would definitely come back for their cake and environment. It's a really nice place to chill:)

Avocado Toast, overnight oats and coffee. Delicious.

We visited this adorable little cafe several times during our stay in Copenhagen and just couldn't get enough. Terrific coffee, AMAZING avocado toast and delicious overnight oats, as well as a few other tasty bites. Their service is very efficient and the staff is so very kind. We'll miss this place when we leave!

Popped in here for a coffee by myself on Valentine's Day 2015. Although it was freezing outside, the venue was warm and inviting. I didn't spend long there as I was advised to head to my friends place due to an incident in the city centre. I'm going back next time I'm in CPH as the coffee was memorable.

When you walk in, you can order downstairs and sit there, or travel upstairs to sit at a table or on one of the comfy couches. I elected to have my oat milk latte and chocolate croissant upstairs on a couch. I admired the decor and sipped my latte while doing some work. Around dinner, it got a bit busier since they serve actual food here, besides pastries and coffee. At that point, it was a bit louder and less suited for work. So you could come here for either a meal with friends or to enjoy the calm vibes of a coffee shop, depending on the time!

This was around 4:13 pm on a Saturday. We order three smorrebrod and we ate them in the Tivoli food hall. All were served on plates. The correct way to eat was with a fork and knife as we learned while watching an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. The chicken salad was undoubtedly our favorite. Lots of shredded chicken but overall smooth and tasty. We crumbled the bacon to add some texture and that was even better. The marinated salmon was ok but we liked the nice pop of flavor from the pomegranate seeds. I may try to add them at home to my smoked salmon. The egg and shrimp smorrebrod was tastier. "The name comes from the appearance of the first bakery, which was a square building with alternating cream-colored layers resembling a layer cake." This bakery also serves breakfast items, brod (open face )sandwich and coffees. Here is a sample of pastry offerings in Danish: Wienerbrød: The general term for what English speakers call "Danish pastries". Kanelsnegl: A cinnamon roll. Spandauer: A pastry typically filled with jam or custard. Frøsnapper: A pastry sprinkled with seeds. Tebirkes: A poppy seed pastry. There are numerous locations for this bakery. I visited the location in main hall of Kobenhaven K or Central Station before catching my train to Kronborg Castle. The space was filled with people who were grabbing a ticket and then wait for ticket number to be called. I was indecisive and thought I saw a pastry with lemon filling. The employee who seemed a bit flustered told me that it was not lemon and she did not have anything with lemon. It turned out to be vanilla custard which was just as good. I also tried the green sprinkled marshmallow ball. She placed my two items in their own bag. I wanted a shopping bag which she snidely says "It cost 5 krone". Unfortunately, my New York response was snide as well, "I don't care". The two pastries were delicious. However, service needs to be as exquisite as the items you sell, unfortunately this location is lacking in that. I was worried about the carrot salad because it looked like it was tossed in something creamy, but it was quite good. This also included a really rich and thick tomato soup, and a small toast w/ goat cheese and a rhubarb jam, and some sweet treat- I'm guessing made with mascarpone. Hubbies sandwiches were good, though I've never seen mushrooms in a chicken salad before (luckily they were big enough for him to pick out so I got those too). Only reason to dong them a Star was due to the chaotic way and wait to order. There was one queue downstairs and two people intermittently taken orders. But, the people taking the orders also were making fancy coffee drinks and doing other stuff, so it was very staccato. When we were next in line, both people ringing people up went missing for quite a few minutes and then a newcomer went straight over to the 2nd register to ask a question, as if the people in the longer queue weren't waiting, and because the guys behind the counter were so all over the place they couldn't keep track of that. Then it turns out if you want to sit upstairs, you have to order up there, so off we went to wait in another queue. After you order, you take a number to your table and we thought they forgot about us, and asked a bus boy to check in for us and he returned with our food. Oy!
