Nice cafe in Halmtorvet. We ordered the beef tenderloin and the tiger prawns, they were good! The service was a little slow and we were really hungry at 10:30pm, just arrived to Copenhagen. Lindo cafe en Halmtorvet. Ordenamos el lomo con puré y los langostinos con pasta, estaban bien! El servicio fue un poco lento y nosotros teníamos mucha hambre a las 10:30pm, recién llegados a Copenague.

Club sandwich and Carlsberg

Stopped here for lunch while sightseeing and making use of our day passes. THE BEST CLUB SANDWICH EVER. In fact, it wasn't even a traditional club. It was artesian. It was gourmet. Fabulous bread, fresh greens, a warm freshly cooked chicken breast. Don't order the fries! You won't have room for the Toblerone cheesecake.

This place was our plan b after we got turned away from the Thai place around the corner for not having a reservation (it was 5pm and there were only a small handful of other customers in their empty restaurant, but whatever), so in a pouring rainstorm, we turned the corner and decided to try this place out. It's apparently much more known for breakfast and brunch, though they did also have a dinner menu. I ordered chicken risotto, BFF got their grilled chicken over veggies entree. Both were OK, nothing less, nothing more. We should have known it might be this way from the relatively limited dinner menu they had (that were on very worn pieces of paper attached to a clip board). This place wasn't bad per se, but given other options, we'd probably try those other options out before we'd come back here - for dinner, anyway, since they did seem to cater more to breakfast and brunch.

Omelettes with some green on the side.

Me and a buddy ordered an omelette and some other small dishes. The omelet was well made with chicken, bacon, tomatoes and some spinach. A very delicious detail was the melted cheddar on the top. I think the omelette was made half on a pan and half in the oven. The service itself was fair and quick, but nothing notably special. Because of the location of the cafè I could imagine a lot of tourists would be coming by.

A suggestion from the receptionist at hotel. Perfect after landing at airport and taking the train to Copenhagen Portions are gigantic! Had the club sandwich and hubs got the burger. Both are huge and good. The club is fresh chicken breast with bacon and lots of greens and a tasty aioli. Definitely a great place. Staff is very nice and friendly to us who only speak English too

Great food and friendly staff, nice cozy atmosphere. This was the first place we stopped upon arriving in Copenhagen and we picked it at random. I ordered the brunch plate, which had small portions of various foods. It was excellent! Everything was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I would definitely return here again, there were plenty of other menu options I'd like to try next time.

Brunch plate - a tasty bit of everything.

Brunch platter was both delicious and adorable. Good cappuccino, with a tasty sprinkle of cocoa on top.

Nicely presented breakfast plate

Very nice little café for a breakfast. We had the breakfast plate. It was very nicely presented, and tasted awesome. Staff was mostly nice. You should definitely try it for the breakfast!

Nice brunch spread on a Saturday morning after having flown all night. The yogurt and bread are amazing and the variety of items is great.

Very nice location and good service. The buffet was good, lots of fruit, but I felt like it was not really worth the price.

Louis R is wondering why these yelpers who can't afford to eat out even review restos as awesome as this one, in Copenhagen.

This shop was super close to our Zleep hotel right around the corner. They have a sign that says early bird special and caught my wife's eye that says get a croissant with a purchase of a coffee for only 5 DKK. She mistakenly read it as coffee and croissant for 5DKK but we realize we read the sign wrong or it would be too good to be true haha. It's ok. We went the next morning at 8:45am on a Saturday and this early bird special is only available for one hour from 8:30-9:30 Saturday Sunday or 7:30-8:30 Mon-Fri. Nice coffee shop. Barista was super nice. This place takes credit cards no problem. They have a few selection of pastries. We really like the croissants because they were super hot and fresh. Just baked right out of the oven with a nice fluffy bite into it. If your looking for super fancy latte art, not sure if this place is good at that. They do have a good interior seating and a nice section of outdoor seating as well. A coffee and a croissant came out to be around $5.75 USD for the early bird special is not too bad compared to NYC prices.

The cappuccino was smooth and rich with just the right amount of foam, while the sandwich was hearty and delicious -- simple but satisfying, with that nutty Danish dark bread that makes all the difference. What stood out most was the atmosphere. The staff are genuinely friendly and it feels more like visiting a local friend's kitchen than a café. Prices are fair for the city, and you can take your time without feeling rushed. If you're looking for a spot that feels authentic and relaxed rather than polished or touristy, this is it. Highly recommended for a laid-back breakfast or coffee break.

The woman working inside spoke perfect English and made me an excellent oat milk latte with perfect foam (hard to do with oat milk). I also ordered the simple breakfast that had a nice, fairly dense biscuit and a homemade jam and butter as well as some great Swiss cheese. Finally, although vegan, the woman working here made me an absolutely PERFECT boiled egg, in my opinion. Wonderfully creamy on the inside, but not runny, and a perfectly cooked white. Bravo! Absolutely no regrets as this was definitely the best breakfast I had during my trip to Copenhagen. This quaint coffee shop was filled with good vibes and extremely unique decor. Seriously! It had tools on the walls, a motorcycle, and it just overall felt warm and inviting. Most of the patrons (minus of me of course) were locals and I could tell this was also their go-to spot. There was only one employee there at the time, but he was super patient and super chill. There's honestly no other way I can accurately depict his energy! I ordered a breakfast plate that came with a freshly baked roll, cheese, jam, butter and an egg (cooked in a way of your choosing) and it also came with coffee (however you liked it as well)! I opted for a soft-boiled egg and an oat milk latte. First off, the roll was SO soft and delicious. The oat milk latte was super creamy and didn't have any remnants of "burnt coffee" taste. It was perfection. Also, I must mention that the egg was cooked perfectly! Getting a well-cooked soft-boiled egg can often be a challenge but he was able to achieve at Petrol! All in all, I really enjoyed my visit to Petrol. It was the cherry on top to my trip and it helped start my final day in the city to a great start. Definitely would return during a future visit to Copenhagen. Thanks so much, Petrol! You're truly a gem.

We arrived at 1 PM on Friday and they were already sold out of the roasted pork. We ended up ordering the Chicken/Bacon/Avocado sandwich and the Chicken/Chili/Cheese sandwich and then debated on whether to get the berry smoothie (but some folks sitting nearby eating sold us on how great the smoothie was -- and they were right!). The sandwiches had good flavor and we ended up splitting each one -- which gave us some variety for our lunch. There isn't a lot of seating available here, so if your hotel is within walking distance here, I'd recommend taking it to go and then eating in the hotel lobby/courtyard. That's what my wife and I ended up doing.
