First of all, the staff was VERY nice and kind in this office. My complaint is after doctoring for TEN weeks and spending loads of money on appointments and prescriptions, I told them that I would like to move to another doctor (Cleveland Clinic). Dr. Thomas was very kind and gave me a referral. First visit to Cleveland Clinic, they took me off of all the meds and said that my eye virus was not active. It was just dry eye! All those weeks of doctoring with Dr. Thomas and my virus was never active. I should have known when the doctor was HAND drawing my virus when the Cleveland Clinic was taking detailed pictures. The HAND drawing should have been my sign. All that money and they don't even have the right equipment. I tried to call Dr. Thomas just to let her know that my virus was not active and she didn't even take the time to call me back. I called the accounting office asking if they could give me a discount because they didn't do ANYTHING for me, they said NO, the bill stands. Ridiculous, they could of gave me some kind of discount. Go directly to Cleveland Clinic, they are professional! I only had 2 appointments which was much cheaper than what I spent at Parschauer Eye Center. read more

I just left the Sandusky Ohio location after close to an hour's Drive and being told I couldn't be seen because I was 5 minutes past the appointment grace. They claim the appointment was at 7:30. I had the appointment written down as 8:00 but let's for the sake of argument say I was wrong. So in essence what they're saying is their time is more valuable than mine because I have sat in their waiting room well past my appointment time on occasions yet I am 5 minutes late and they can't see me . Thanks but no thanks . I will find another eye center. read more

Do not come here. They are so rude. They can schedule you pretty quickly for eye exam. But when glasses come in, if you can't work around their schedule you are stuck waiting 2-3 weeks to pick your new glasses up. read more

This facility is the puppy mill of Eye care. You're one of 300 patients a day in this facility. You'll also be there a while, but they have a good way of making you think you're not waiting, by moving you around to various rooms. First you will relatively quickly get sent to waiting room A, B, or C. Wait 10 minutes. Then you'll go to an exam room and easily wait 20 minutes. Then they will run there first test, move to another room, wait 15 minutes. See the Doctor! ....for 5 minutes, they prescribe, then wait 10 minutes. Then get you're direction to the exit station, pay your bill and then they force you to schedule your next appointment a year out, so bring your crystal ball with you! The doctors are ok, but this place is too big to make you feel well attended to or valuable. And don't forget the refraction fee whether you need it or not. Plan on a 1-1.5 hour stay. read more

The most caring and efficient eye care ever. My family has seen Dr. Parschauer and his associates for over 10 years. 4 of us have had cataract surgery, 5 of us glasses and contacts, and my son had lasik. We breezed through it all and couldn't have been happier with the results. They really go the "extra mile" to be sure you're comfortable and satisfied. I was amazed at how quickly I recovered from my cataract surgery and I could see clearly again! Dr. Ken is so calm and soothing, always puts me at ease. I'm waiting for my 96 yr. old aunt to complete her yearly eye checkup, while I sip my coffee and watch the waiting room television. You can't beat that:) read more

Avoid at all costs. This is a large facility and is a factory only to seek profit. They are overstuffed with a patient base. You see a new doctor each visit, and having to keep on reminding whatever new doctor you receive about your medical needs is annoying. And the wait time is horrendous. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. You don't sign in, wait, see a doctor/get tests etc., reschedule, and leave like a normal practice. You are herded like cows between three waiting rooms in a maze of space - get called in, get put back into the waiting room, wait for 30-45 minutes, get called in, and then put into another waiting room. I have been coming here for 5 years and every visit I am there for two hours minimum, and an entire afternoon needs to be blocked out. My last visit had an appointment time of 2:00 PM, and I did not get to leave until 5:04 PM. Especially avoid if you need special tests done with your exam, such as a field vision test because that will just increase your wait time. Staff is very disorganized due to the insanely large patient base. You will feel like a widget. I experienced multiple billing mistakes, scheduling errors, and receiving the wrong contacts. Doctors themselves are very good and professional, but are not personable due to seeing many patients, and will rush. You are simply a number. I leave feeling absolutely exhausted and stressed, and now that my insurance has changed, and I am relieved that I will have to find a new practice. read more

The doctors and specialists they have come in are very good. Some lack people skills, but the majority are nice. Main problem is they schedule who knows how many people at the same time. You are shuffled around to different rooms for different tests, and it is a big waiting game. Plan on being there two hours. I guess time is one of the prices you have to pay for the best. read more

I'm a long time patient of Parschauer. Today I went in for my rescheduled (already four months behind!) yearly appointment. My work schedule makes it difficult to coordinate an appointment, hence the reschedule. I rescheduled in August and waited TWO more months to get my regular doctor. I even asked to be called if an earlier appointment happened to open up. So, after much hassle, I show up for my appointment today AND THEY DIDN'T DOWN!!! I rescheduled yet again and I didn't even get my regular doctor. I was understandably very upset! I'm looking into a new eye doctor, even though I've always been happy with Parschauer in the past. read more

My concern was that I would be lost in the operations of this large practice, when I saw them for cataracts after my doc became ill and there is no one else in Sandusky. I was really ready to feel like a number. From the first test to the second post operative visit , I DID NOT feel that way. I live out of state but spend 6 months of the year working in Sandusky. My ophthalmologist in Philadelphia asked me to get my eye pressure checked this week locally. Parschauer Eye Center turned out to be in my insurance network and had an available appointment the same week I called. I am extremely impressed with their operation. They quickly moved me from check in to a waiting room where I only waited five minutes before going to an examination room. I was immediately given an exam and pressure check followed by a doctor's exam within five minutes. I was in and out within 1/2 hour, start to finish, and everyone I met there was notably competent and friendly. I couldn't be more impressed. read more

The Dr. was very helpful but his staff was absolutely horrible. I had questions on my upcoming surgery and there was a mix-up on one of the drops they prescribed. I left many, many messages but never once got a call back informing me of ANYTHING. Even after I finally got through and complained about the lack of response, they never called back- not even after I cancelled the surgery.
