Spring is here and it's time to TREAT YO SELF! I love wayfarer sunglasses with their classic, face-flattering chic and wanted a classic pair of Ray-Bans. So, I did a little research online before heading into the store, deciding I would be buying either the Classic Original Wayfarer frames or the New Wayfarer frames; I wanted to try them on in person first to see the differences for myself. I had an excellent service experience with a helpful, dapper young man who really knows the product well. He directed me right where I needed to go, helped me select the size of frames best suited to my face, and outlined all the subtle differences between the different options of frames and lenses. Within 5-10 minutes I found exactly what I needed/wanted, and was out the door with the smile of Retail Therapy spread wide across my face! In the past, I hadn't looked to Sunglass Hut because I had the notion that it was an overpriced outlet. In actuality, the prices were exactly the same as on Ray-Ban's website and other online retailers, but with the added perks of an excellent warranty and service program; it included warranty against damage, free cleaning, and help with repairs. It was a superior customer service experience and I am fully satisfied! I wouldn't hesitate to go back when the need arises in the future.

At mile post 100, ready for a break from the road I fired up the old google map in search of a sporting goods store, and Suri dutifully revealed to me this Dick's Sporting Goods in Sandusky, OH. It's a great store. Huge, well lit, very few dark corners. They have everything from athletic wear to Zamboni parts. The staff was almost creepily helpful. After checking out their skate gear, lacrosse sticks, bodybuilding equipment and sundry other offerings, I settled on a full set of football gear. The boy's uncle had told me that he really wanted to play pee-wee football but was not allowed because one of the major side effects of Meyers-Briggs syndrome is excessive crying. But there's no reason he can't dress up like his heroes of the gridiron! I picked him up a Riddell helmet, Cleveland Browns jersey, pads, pants, and a tiny little jock strap all for less than $200! On the way out I grabbed myself a new set of Adidas shower shoes, some Quench gum, and I was on my way. I'll be sure to check out Dick's in my hometown, but it's unlikely I'll have cause to revisit Dick's in Sandusky.

They were confident their Zeiss lab -- in Kentucky or Germany -- could handle it, and they were absolutely right. I chose a pair of fantastic blue frames that really complement my face and style. For years my lenses have been thick, but Eye Candy was able to use 1.74 glass lenses that are the thinnest I've ever had. They took a bit longer since they were made in Germany, but the first-time quality was perfect. I'm over the moon with my new glasses. Outstanding service, expertise, and results. There are no name brands here. They are the brand. There is no middle man here upping up the prices, because they are that middle man. They make the whole process effortless. You go in. Find a pair of glasses that range from $90-$125 IN TOTAL including the frames, lenses, etc. You provide them with the contact details of the place where you last purchased your glasses. And that is it. There are no pushy, fake salespeople who are all over you for that commission, as they are not commission based. They just care about making sure you are happy with your purchase. That's it. Best part of all, for every pair of glasses you purchase, they donate a pair to someone in need. I will 100% be returning back. Prior to arriving, I called on the phone and the person confirmed I could return them and the money would go back to my credit card. When I arrived at the store, there were 2 employees and no other customers, but they seemed inconvenienced to help with the return. Right away, the employee said I would have to ship the sunglasses back myself. I explained the receipt clearly said I could return in the store. Then the employee said I could return the sunglasses in the store, but they would mail me a check in 7 days. This isn't what I was told previously, and it seems very odd.
