Patio Pools & Spas Sierra Vista - The filter. So gross, plus next to zero chlorine in the pool.

I really don't like bashing local businesses, but I think this is worthy. This is regarding their…read morepool maintenance, not their pool building, Patio Pools has been servicing this pool every month for 14 year (since it was built) for the previous owner. This information came from Patio, not from the previous owner. The current rate of their monthly service is $165. The service agreement states they will do weekly cleaning of the pool including the cartridge filter, brush the pool, test and maintain the chemistry, and take care of equipment parts and accessories like the lid, filter o-rings, etc. They were last here 12.03.25, and today is 12.24.25. This is what I found: lots of scale on the pool (from running the pH too high), INCREDIBLY dirty filter caked with mud, a broken latch on the filter case, old and/or rotten o-rings and gaskets. The chlorine was very low, so I went to turn up the inline chlorinator and crumbs of the disintegrating o-ring fell out, then it started to leak. I then opened the chlorinator and there was no chlorine pack in there. Now this could be because it's winter, but it is 80 degrees outside and they serviced the pool 3 weeks ago! The pH of the pool was high 8.1 and 8.6 on two different testing systems, the CYA was over a HUNDRED while the chlorine was 0.5. Ideally, chlorine should be 7.5-10% of your CYA. Several studies have shown CYA over 80 is useless and will just cause you to waste expensive chlorine tablets. With this much CYA, NO chlorine disinfecting is taking place and the only way to lower CYA is to drain the pool. So then I took a look at the pump. The gasket was old had small rocks in-bedded in it. Come on guys, are you trying to destroy my stuff?? For the past 160 months or so, Patio has been taking in $120-$165 per month. So they've pocketed upwards of about 20K and now I'm going to have to spend at least 5k fixing what they've neglected.

The owner, Tyler, arrived and was friendly and professional. He diagnosed and replaced the heater element within the quoted estimate. Total job was about an hour. I was nice to see that the owner also does repairs when they're busy. It shows dedication and understanding of their customer's needs. Also, no "AI" or bouncing around my phone call. Just great, dependable service. Thanks Tucson Hot Tubs!

This was the first and only location visited when interested in purchasing a Hot Tub, felt comfortable at the location and the Staff was Great.  Once we decided on the right size of unit for the space available, the rest was easy with Great Assistance from Dylan.  We had to wait a week for delivery, and the delivery process went extremely smooth with no problems or damages.  Tyler and Sam delivered our unit and were very helpful in informing me of everything I needed to know for success.  Install was an Awesome Experience, Thanks Tyler and Sam!!! Thanks to this Tucson Family-Owned Business for putting my mind at ease at point-of-sale and without pressure of making a purchase.  This location also does repairs on their units as they get older and need Maintenace, and no need for searching for a repair person.  Solid!  Our unit works Wonderfully and is used almost every day and looks Great on our Patio without taking a lot of room.  It's Perfect and the Cover Bracket is the BEST Ever compared to our last unit!  WooHoo! My maintenance guy neglected my pool while I was out of town for a few months…read more It turned green. We followed the advice on the internet, shocking it and waiting, but after two days it had only improved a bit. We went into Leslie's pool service looking for a pumice stone to scrub down the sides. Omar took one look at our pool pictures and said, "A pumice stone is not going to help." He recommended that we drain it and treat it directly with chlorinated bleach. He explained the whole process and cautioned against doing this during the day when the plaster might get too hot and crack. He didn't push products on us but instead was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We explained to him the problem with our previous pool service and he recommended some pool services that he knew were great. He added that this was the busy season and that if these guys were full, to call him back and he'd help. Well, we followed his advice and it worked! I got my sparkling pool back! While we were draining the pool, we found black algae was starting to grow on the floor of the pool. If we hadn't drained it, we probably wouldn't have been able to directly kill it the way it needed to go. The pool service he recommended came out a few days later and also did a terrific job taking care of us. I depend on the internet for a lot of things, but Leslie's Pool Supplies is where I will always go from now on. Thanks Omar!
