Bookmark Parlor B for when you can get close to people again! 10/10 should let Lynette cut their hair. I'd still let her breathe on me during this lock down but hair care can wait. I wonder if she'll have some client stories of bad box color jobs and self bang cuts gone wrong. I suppose one can't rate a stylist on chair chat alone even though I enjoyed our time cutting and chatting. It'd been awhile since I'd had a professional haircut, or just even a hack job at home, so I was very excited about this appointment. Appointment booking and payment for both service and tip is done through the StyleSeat app which makes it super simple. Plus you can't forget your appointment with the app reminding you. Handy! While I live nearby so I can walk here in 5 minutes, if I ever move I'd happily drive across town to get my hair cut here. The salon is small so you get all the attention. When I walked in another client was finishing up so we all chatted for a bit. I was given some water which was nice since I'd just hauled all this up a hill. After some hydration it was time for my hair to be washed. Everybody talks about the cut but what about the wash?! I would pay just for that service. Like just wash my hair while I relax and drift off into a delightful space, 'kay? Thanks. I didn't want to make it weird. Obviously I was just saving that for this review... After my scalp got the attention it never gets it was time for the haircut. I walked in knowing I wanted "Uh, something shorter. Maybe layered? Maybe bangs?" I had looked online but didn't see anything that jumped out at me so I just told Lynette to do whatever would look good. She's the pro, right? Well between the wash, the cut, and the chatting all 75 minutes flew by and I was all trimmed and styled. My hair has never looked so good! It was shorter, all blown out flippy like (I know, my use of technical terms is amazing), and I was ready for the selfie wall. I took some pics there, took more on the way home, took more at the group meeting I was heading to, and got to bask in all the good hair feels for two days. Luckily after washing it I've been able to enjoy good hair days. When I've tried to style it it's a disaster. Best to just let it dry as it is, it curls up and makes its own flippies and curls. It'll lose this as it gets longer but I'll resist trimming it myself. I'll just get shaggier and shaggier, looking like I'm starring in Castaway. But once I get that appointment? Back to looking all flippy and cute thanks to Lynette. read more
