This review is long overdue. If you've found Grissel in San Diego consider yourself lucky, because you're getting celebrity stylist level of work at a much more reasonable price. Grissel is truly an artist. She's been doing hair since she was a teenager, and has worked on hundreds of photo shoots in LA for major fashion magazines. The only reason her studio is in San Diego, is because she lives there. Having the right hair stylist really makes the difference between looking good and looking hot. I live and work in the entertainment business in LA, so I'm aware of that probably more so than most people. It took me 2 years of searching to find her. I plan on booking Grissel on my up coming TV and film projects, and I personally come all the way down to SD every few weeks, so she can do my hair. It's more than worth it because she's THAT good. I have friends who pay 3 times as much as I do to get their hair done at high end salons, and I always feel like they're getting ripped off because my hair looks just as good, if not better, and I'm not breaking the bank like they are. Over the last 6-7 years that I've been her client, we've taken my hair from a boring brown to every shade of red, black, brown and blonde. We've also tried various different looks with bangs and layers. She can also match high quality real hair extensions to your color. A lot of times I bring a picture from a magazine with me. It doesn't matter what I ask for, Grissel makes it happen even better than I had imagined. On top of that, she's one of the most amazing, genuine people I know. Despite her busy schedule she always makes her clients feel like VIPs, and works with them to find an appointment that works. She's always on time, and always so fun to talk to while you're getting you hair done. Just stop looking now because you've hit the jackpot!! :) read more

She's an international hair pro who has styled Bella Hadid and Naomi Campbell for magazine covers and does hair for Chanel and Dior shows in Paris and Milan. I have blonde hair and get a double process and Grissel is not only an artiste but she's extremely knowledgeable and super fun to hang with for a couple hours very 6 weeks. I started going to Grissel in 2004 when she was a Junior Stylist at The Salon in Old Town. Fast forward to seven years later and she has continued to be my stylist. Before Grissel I had never regularly visited a stylist more than a handful of times. My hair is fine and wavy and recently she found a great style that allows me to let my hair air dry. I loved the angular bob cut I had before I had my son, but went for this low maintenance style recently and have gotten many compliments. I trust her style and hair care tremendously. Over the years, I received color on and off and when I did all over color or highlights, it looked great. She is very attentive and records the color and cut to ensure it's similar the next time if you prefer. Grissel is amazing! She worked her magic on my hair! 9 months ago I had gone to another salon to get a "baylage" done. I immediately regretted it! The bleaching damaged my natural wavy hair. It actually wasn't the color that I wanted. I'm so happy I came accross Grissel's yelp. Her new location has plenty of parking. Her salon is clean with a good view. She was also so welcoming and friendly as soon as I walked in to her salon. I appreciated her honesty and feedback when it came to my hair. Seriously?! I wish I would have taken a before and after picture. This girl is a miracle worker! My hair has never looked better. I went in with a good 3 inch root stripe (dark brown with blond every where else). For the first time in my life, she asked me what color I like- I was just thinking "just make it go away- make it look good". She did. She did highlights, color, and a blow dry in less than 3 hours.
