I realized I need to start giving reviews when I have a great experience. This is definitely one of those times. I have been going to Tyler for my hair at two previous salons in Seattle. I held off after he moved to Tacoma and even tried someone else for a haircut. Finally, I worked up the nerve to drive to Tacoma. It took almost an hour, but Tyler is worth it. I am always happy with my haircut and color. I always get compliments from others after visiting the salon. Poor Tyler had a bit of a mess to deal with, since I delayed going for so long, but he saved the day...and my hair. Tyler has great ideas for someone like me, who just doesn't know what to do with my styling. When I am unsure, I trust his decisions and I've always been delighted. The location: it's wonderful! It was not challenging to find a place to park nearby. The salon is clean and bright and welcoming. After going, I feel like I'd like to see more of Tacoma. I know I"ll be seeing more of Tacoma in my future, because Tyler is the only person I will let touch my hair! read more

If you are looking to switch salons or just need a quick cut, whatever, you won't be disappointed with Parkway and with Tyler. I've lived in Tacoma for my entire life and this was the best haircut I've gotten hands down. Tyler's attention to detail is amazing; I showed him a picture of what I wanted and I pretty much knew that I would get something kinda close...NOPE! I walked out with the same look as the model and exactly what I wanted and I am obsessed. The cut was quick, detailed and the self styling bar is great because it let me see what my hair would look like when I actually do it myself on a daily basis. If you ask him why he wanted to be a stylist you will be able to tell how much he truly loves what he does and why he is such a great stylist. Please give this place a try! read more

Omg this is going to be my go-to salon!!! If I could rate 6 starts I will definitely do it. Tyler is REALLY awesome on giving you a comfortable haircut! He's experiences and skills tells that! He worked in ten pachi for years and if you don't know what ten pachi is, they r one of the best haircut salon down in Seattle area! Tyler gives me a lot of suggestions on taking care of my thick, tangled hair...he talks with you make sure everything is going well. I chopped off my hair today it feels so much light weight on my shoulder while keeps the style I wanted. Overall, great customer service and QUALITY hair cut are all you will be have!! Thanks Tyler! Tyler is generous enough to offer you a comfortable hair styling environment. He gives me suggestion on how to taking care of my tangling hair and, most importantly!!! I finally got the haircut that I super adore with!! I've been going to Parkway Modern Salon since I've been in college (so almost 4 years now) and that place hasn't disappointed me yet! I get my haircut from Tyler or Ally, depending on who's free when I schedule an appointment, and I am super happy with how both of them cut my hair! Everyone there is super friendly and professional. The place itself is very clean and organized. I love that you can book online and it shows you when the hair stylist is available and at what times. They get pretty busy so it's best to book a few weeks ahead of time! I love this place and if I stay in Sea-Tac after college I'll definitely be coming back to this salon! read more

Tyler was excellent! Today was my first time to his salon. He was kind, the salon was clean, great Kevin Murphy products, he helped to educate me on my hair and how to achieve my desired results. We did an all over color, highlights, deep clean, cut, and style. Loved ALL of it. My hair turned out great. I love the cut. He was easy to talk to and really listened to my concerns. I'm so glad I was able to find him. Most other salons have been booked out for months. Just left from a free haircut, and I'm very happy with it. This was my first time getting my haircut here, and it's definitely a great choice. Tyler was super helpful and walked me through exactly what he was doing each step, getting my hair to exactly where I wanted it. I definitely recommend it and will tell my friends about it as well. They're brand new so it's not too crowded but Tyler's the only one working so there may be a small wait (mine was only five minutes, and it was totally worth it). I have been going to Tyler for more than 6 years and I have only the best to say about him. I have had short and long and medium hair...recently I started to dye my hair and he has also done a wonderful job. And when i developed some allergy he promptly found another product that has been working great. For my wedding...well, I had no doubt it had to be him and I have to say my hair looked just amazing. Tyler has cut my hair twice now and I've been extremely pleased. The first time he chopped me pretty drastically and I thought that he talked me through the entire process and made sure to get me to a length that works with my face shape. I went in today for just a trim and I was impressed again. I also LOVE that there is an option to just get a haircut without styling for 1/2 the price. Michael Diego does a phenomenal job. People actually stop me on the street on the regular to compliment my cut. I often find that stylists get stuck in a rut and give you the same style even when you ask for something different but Michael "reads" my hair, sees my vision, and makes it happen. This place is great! I originally came here when Carina moved here. She cuts my hair and it always looks so good even months and months after the cut. I had Tyler do my hair for a military ball and it looked great! Another great thing about this salon is that they charge very reasonable prices for such high quality work!
