I called in for a used car inspection. Ask for cash quote - he said 70, and needs 2-3 hr notice…read morebefore coming. Price wasn't spectacular (this was quoted in 3 diff shops in Paramus) but this was closest to dealership, so I agree. I call next day at 10 AM to if I can come at 1, and he says come now. I go with the used car. First thing - no "hi" or nothing. OK, no biggie, anyone can have a bad day. He (appeared to be owner/manager) lifts the car WITHOUT asking me ANYTHING - didnt' even confirm if I was the guy who made the call... and starts doing something. His just looks at stuff w/flash light.. and that's it. I've been to other used car inspection places and i can see them connecting their digital diagnostics tool to the car. This time? NOTHING. He just looks.. and that's it. Then I get a PIECE of paper w/scribbles on it. Can barely make out what it says. He does speak to me about what the issues are but there's NO report whatsoever - no measurements, no readings, no nothing. I needed this report to negotiate with the seller. He won't give it. Worst - he starts getting MAD and starts screaming that I'm asking "too much".. and that i'm bothering him in his busy time, when there was NO OTHER CAR at the time except mine. I keep asking for something more detailed since i'm getting it from a dealer and it's gonna be looked by pros. He tells me to pay additional $150/hr and will give me formal report. Worst part - he is screaming and pestered at 11 AM in the morning on a WEEKDAY. The dealership's sales employee was with me .. and he even screams at this poor guy - for WHAT? I never asked him to talk to the dealer's sale guy. He's mad b/c im asking him to give me more detailed report? All in all, TERRIBLE experience. I've done 3 used car inspections the past month - and by FAR, this was the WORST. Will NEVER EVER go here again. I question all the reviews on this shop.

I'm so glad I found this place! I own a 2007 Volvo XC 90, and it was displaying 2 check engine…read morecodes: P171 and P174, the so-called "lean"codes. As I pulled into the parking area, I was happy to see that there were a collection of foreign cars there including an Audi, Volvo, a Maserati, and a BMW. I spoke to David who nodded saying "that's usually an air leak. We'll find it". When he later called me, I braced myself for some bad news. He said, "your problem was a split O-ring under the oil fill cap". The charge? Laughing, he said "20 cents for the O-ring". I thought he was joking, but when I went to pick up the car, he refused to take any money! "We didn't fix anything" he shrugged. But they had spent time doing a smoke test (for leaks) and also drove the car around for like 20 minutes to make sure the CEL stayed off. This is an honest business that clearly puts a value on results. I drove 10 miles to this place (no Volvo mechanics near where I live), and I'll definitely be back. Had I gone to the dealer, I would have been hosed for that split O-ring.

Can't say enough good things about this place and the owner Dave! A coworker told me he helped him…read moreout with his Audi after the dealership quoted him a $6,000 repair. So I took my car in (2016 BMW X1) with a transmission warning light. This is after two other mechanics had already looked at it. Dave called me with a recall notice on the shifter. When I went to pick it up he gave me the print out and wouldn't take any money for the Diagnostics he did! And it was just in time because the recall was expiring in May. Honest and knowledgeable. I don't think there are two more important qualities in a mechanic. I will be taking my car back for everything it needs and will recommend him to everybody. Thank you.
