The ticket kiosks are on the right of the door next to the video games... very easily missed. Besides your usual popcorn and sweets, they also have a Baskin Robbins where you can get ice cream and sundaes. There are some tables in the lobby area if you are a bit early... although it is next to a number of restaurants if you do want a bite to eat before or after your film. During peak times it can be difficult to get in and out of the leisure park and sometimes difficult to find parking. However, it is convenient and saves us from having to drive further to find a cinema.

We ordered our tickets online and just used one of the kiosks to retrieve them when we arrived. There was a line for drinks and snacks, so if you aren't sneaking your own in, leave yourself a bit of time. While you enter the cinema from the upper level, when inside, screens 1-6 are downstairs while the rest are upstairs. The screen we went into had VIP seats in the center. Mr. Snarky didn't pay for them as the regular seats are actually quite comfortable and not too far off from the VIP seats in quality. However, we did sit right behind one of the VIP rows and I had the unfortunate experience of having the person in front of me leaning back quite far in his seat... surprisingly there wasn't much room between my seat and his, so I have a small bruise on one of my knees that couldn't escape his seat back. Not sure if you can exit through any part of the mall when the movie ends after closing time as we parked nearest to The Oasis so we wouldn't have to worry about this. Other than that, we were quite pleased with our experience, definitely better than our local cinema.

Since the refurb, all screens, despite being small, have extremely comfortable seats (without the need to pay extra), and there is now a bar as well. Normal refreshments are still available, although there is often large queues at busy times. Ticket machines are available if you want to get in quick, and include a seat-picker. They also give student discounts.

Anyway, it was the Easter long weekend, the clouds had covered Sheffield in a dulling grey and my brother, sister-in-law and I were in need of some entertainment. So we went and saw Locke at The Showroom Cinema. It wasn't busy so we were able to get tickets quickly and headed down into the surprisingly large room. It was clean, comfy and the screen and sound quality were great. Everything you could want in a cinema with that good 'local' feel. According to my brother, their ice cream is fantastic but our excess Easter egg consumption meant we avoided additional sugar. Well we also need to mention the inbetween and mass market too. Maybe not as much but here we go, it's the Showcase. When the Showcase opened many years ago now it was well ahead of anything else in the area. It brought mulit-screens to Leeds and all under one roof. However, that was back in the day and when you could buy half penny sweets and munch on flying saucers. Okay it's not that old but it has certainly fallen a bit behind some of the competitors in the area. That said it's not a bad cinema. You'll still get a good choice of big films and reasonable auditoriums but it lacks to punch of some of it's rivals. I find the films tend to be slightly behind the Vue ones and some of the screening areas aren't as big either. The staff are friendly but slightly unhelpful and the savoury snacks are expensive and utter dross. On the plus side, it's free parking and there is plenty of it. You've also got many eateries on site for a quick feed before or after the performance. Not one to avoid but not a place to hurry to either.
