This cinema looks like it probably hasn't had a lot done to it decor wise since the 1990's, which wouldn't really be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that it consequently looks very worn and grubby. The tickets and snacks are pretty standard cinema fare, at a pretty standard cinema price, by which I mean ludicrously overpriced.
Never mind. After all, the real cinema experience is the 2 hours spent sitting in the darkness enjoying a film. The expected high price and shabby appearance have very little impact provided that the screening itself lives up to cinema expectation.
Which is where this cinema really fell apart.
As the previews began, I could hear that something wasn't quite right with the sound. After a few minutes it became clear that the right front speakers were at a noticeably lower volume than the rest of the sound. Seeing as the previews were still on, I hopped out of my seat and found a member of staff, who I made aware of the problem. They said they would look in to it. I sat for a little longer, and the problem persisted. I then spoke to another member of staff, who came in to the screening room and listened. I was again told that they would look in to it, but that there was probably nothing that could be done right now.
Nothing was resolved, and at no point was I offered an apology, or any recompense for the poor quality of the screening. Consequently, after my one and only visit to this cinema, I won't be back. read more
