This place is a fascinating walk through a period of history…read more Eden Camp is a real prisoner of war camp built in 1942. You walk through a series of huts and scenes are set with sound and smells depicting WWII. The hand waving, from under a pile of rubble, in the blitz is pretty memorable. Two idemitical rooms show how prisoners of war would escape. Room one shows the room and you try to spot how and where. Room 2 shows the passages open etc. A spot the difference if you like. It is perfectly accessible for the disabled and very child friendly they have a two part Assault Course. One for the Tiny Tot Commandos and through the escape tunnel for the potential SAS members. A lovely gift shop and for food try the Prisoners' Canteen, Officers' Mess Tearooms or have a drink in the Garrison Cinema Bar. Food is called Dambusters stew and dumplings, Churchill Pie, Veggie Did for Victory, Home Guard etc All under a fiver. You need time to visit this place. At least 3 hours I would say. Incredibly interesting.

Regardless if you have got kids or not this place is a great day out…read more This former World War II prisoner of war camp has its displays in the prisoner huts, displays include the Hitler uprisings to how civilians survived the war through bombing and rationing. Also included are more recent conflicts up to the present date along with a memorial chapel to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Entry price is reasonable Adults £5.00 Children £4.00
