Great cinema but a little expensive for 3D films. A cheaper option is Vue at Meadowhall. Keep your 3D glasses to avoid having to pay for another set in the future (although you'll still pay a 3D uplift fee). Now the only cinema with an IMAX screen in Sheffield, but be prepared to pay to see a film on this screen. Whilst a Starbucks has just opened in the cinema lobby, unfortunately it does not take the Starbucks loyalty card so just be aware of that before you order. And watch out for parking on Orange Wednesday's or when an event is on at the Arena. If you don't get there early it can be a bit of a nightmare finding a space. Though the building is as soulless as the large carpark (and indeed many of the films they show) the actual auditoria at Cineworld are very good. The screens are large, the sound is spot-on and the seats are on a steep rake - which means it doesn't matter how tall the person in front of you is, you can still get a good view. There's ample legroom, too. Everything else is standard multiplex: long queues, overpriced food and drink and noisy clientele. If you want to see the latest blockbuster in Sheffield then Cineworld is the place to go. If you want to nod sagely as you admire the mise-en-scen of the latest Alain Resnais reprint then try the excellent Showroom independent cinema in town. read more

This is a large cinema at Valley Centertainment in Sheffield. It was originally a Virgin cinema it then became a UGC cinema but has been Cineworld for a good year or two now. It features the Full Monty screen which is (or was) the largest screen in Europe (20foot I believe). It offers a good range of refreshments, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, chocolate, crisps, drinks, pick and mix etc. None of the screens are particularly small, it also has a bar for people to relax whilst their film is ready. This has to be one of the best cinemas in the area for both variety of films, flexibility of opening times and it's also very well maintained and very popular. Technically this cinema is very good, However the seating is very Uncomfortable. I visited screen 11, many seats were well worn with holes in them with the underlying foam clearly visible, Within 20 minutes i had back ache & the narrowness of the seat caused my elbows to be pressed against the hard armrests,( there's no room to share the armrest.) To sum up: Large cinema complex with licensed bar, friendly but sometimes noisy atmosphere. This is cinema plays host to one of the largest screens in the country and makes habit of screening new releases on it especially. The cinema is a three story multiplex on the outskirts of the city with a large car park out front and tram link just around the corner, the cinema itself is always clean, the staff are usually friendly (although you do get the odd one) and the sound system is state of the art. The cinema plays all new film releases as well as newly released bollywood films, the food can be a bit pricey but that is to be expected of a multiplex this size. The cinema also has a licensed bar on the second story which has a very laid back atmosphere however noise from the lower floor does filter up but its not disturbing, good music played in this area with fair priced drinks (cheaper then its nearest rival at the Hollywood bowl). The cineplex is everything you want from a cinema and the bar is a great place to spend a few hours towards the end of the night if you catch an early film. read more

This place is quite large as far as cinemas go, there is ample parking all around the building but on busy days youll be lucky gettin near the place, you will probably end up in the overflow car park around the back. Inside it has all the usual things you expect to find in a cimema ie- popcorn and food counters, shops, a bar etc. The decor is of a good standard, the place has always been clean and tidy on all the occaisions I have visited. The screen rooms vary in size, for new releases the rooms are very big with loads of seating. Prices are about average, just what you'd expect to pay at any other cinema. On a whole, this is a very good cimema, the only downside is how busy it can get which means queuing times can be quite long. read more

Probably the best cinema in Sheffield. This cinema has loads going for it, a huge number of screens, plenty of choice of films, loads of leg room, huge screens and a clean modern environment. All cinemas should have facilities and standards this good. The cinema also benefits from a good number of restaurants and leisure facilities (bowling) in the nearby area. The problem with the cinema is parking. Usual you will be OK but if a big event is going on at the nearby Sheffield Arena then traffic is usual bad and parking is almost impossible. Cineworld is massive! in comparison to the Odeon Cinema in town! It has a better atmosphere! like lets say if you watching an action film.. lol or a scary movie! ppl will scream haha! whereas the odeon theres hardly anyone there!! Its in a great location could go to holliwood bowl after and go into the arcade bit or just bowling, or even go for a meal after! one of the best cinemas in sheffield comparted to odeon in town and vue in meadowhall. its is very big. shows all the new films. upto date, sometimes has old cartoons for children only on special dates. it is pretty expensive for a adults ticket. roughly about 6pounds 80. if you are a student. highly recommended u take your student card. tickets then become around 4pounds 70. something along the lines. it is in valley centertainment. so after a film you could either go to hollywood bowl and have a game of bowling or eat at the various restuarants available. read more

This is a large modern cinema. The seating is comfortable and usually pretty clean. The sound can be overwhelming in some of the smaller showrooms. The usually have a great selection and we have found that if you go to the movies more that twice a month the unlimited card is the way to go. read more

The theater is probably the largest in Sheffield with the best amenities. It includes two floors of seating in the lobby, games on the floor, coffee and other treats besides the typical popcorn. The cinemas are all laid out nicely and bathrooms are very well maintained. The ticket prices are extremely reasonable and they offer a unlimited movie pass for £12.00 a month. If you see more then one movie a month I highly recommend this pass. read more

Based in the centertainment area near the Sheffield arena, this cinema has a lot of screens, therefore has some films on each hour so if you are running late you can always go to a slightly later showing rather than having to wait for film to re-start. Seats are more spacious and comfy than other cinemas. read more

Better than the Odeon in the city centre - more screens, more legroom, bigger rooms. Quite reasonably priced and right near Meadowhall. There's also restaurants at centertainment if you want to make a day of it. read more

My husband is disabled and cant walk up and down stairs with out a rail. There are no rails in the cinema they have all been removed so that the cinema is no longer accessible to disabled users unless they have a wheel chair. This is not known until the have paid for the tickets and have arranged transport to the cinema. What a waste of money!!!!!!!! read more
