The additional eggs was two dollars, and fifty cents, and a small pepsi was two dollars. And fifty cents. No eggs for the salad and no mushrooms for the salad. No fruit on the salad bar. No french dressing rude waitresses. And we had to pay extra ford eggs. Yet when I call them and ask them if it was a full solid bar they said, oh yes, of course. They did say that the salad bar was unlimited. What little or was. Yet, they required you to get a second small plate rather than just give you one large plate to get your food. Places like this should be shut down. Save your money go to mcdonald's at least there. They have eggs in a salad. When my wife informed them that we would not be back to have dinner here ever again. The cook basically, just shrugged your shoulders and said, whatever. It's businesses like this that give the United States a bad name.

None of the food stood out to me, or made me want to go back. There's no wow factor. French fries are crinkle cut and bland so make sure you add seasoning. Mushroom burger was just a flavorless mushroom burger. It was ok. But not worth the 40 minute drive.

It felt as if it is under NEW Ownership. We were greeted by a grumpy older lady. We did not see the staff that we normally see. The servers that we did see were very nice. I gave the Servers the star in the review. They were the ONLY stars there. The menu had changed since the last time we were there, about a month ago. LOTS fewer options, more Pizza & Italian. The quality of the food was extremely lacking. My Wife had the fried shrimp basket. It had 5 small flat shrimp (like the ones at the buffets) some fries & a drink. If you took the breading off of the shrimp it was about the size of a guppy. My son also had the Shrimp basket. The shrimp was the same as above. He had 2 sides, about a tablespoon each, Cottage cheese & Broccoli Salad. I was looking for the Bacon Cheese Burger, I was told "it has been removed from the menu & replaced by the Smash Burger, much less meat in the Smash Burger". The server said "you can order a Smash Burger and add bacon & Cheese" (up charge). I opted for an old favorite Tenderloin, it was OK, nothing great. NOTHING was as good as we had ALWAYS received in the past. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED we will not go back

It gives you a warm feeling watching people catching up with each other and just being friendly. And the staff is a huge part of that experience. They will make you feel like a VIP. You might even meet some of the cooks who sometimes deliver the food themselves and the owner who also has a strong presence in the restaurant. So if you are passing through town or antiquing, stop by Lumpy's to experience some small town hospitality. Maybe I'll see ya there.

Apparently, Lumpy's is a favorite of the locals. The staff calls the regulars by name. Everyone else is "Honey." I was "Honey." There was a table of regulars drinking coffee and talking politics and shooting the bull. It's a salt of the earth kind of local diner. A table opened up by the door after ten minutes. The menu is filled with comfort food. Most meals under $10. Nothing fancy, omelettes, burgers, sandwiches. Our server was sweet and recommended the tenderloins. The dining room is simple. Chairs and tables and a few booths. On the back wall are old photos of veterans. Local veterans being remembered by the cafe. My husband had the Big Tenderloin (which is award winning) with seasoned fries. The tenderloin was as big as his head. The meat was moist and tender and the breading seasoned well. The fries were crispy thin-cut with a few spices. He ate half the sandwich. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It was also seasoned with a crunchy breading similar to the tenderloin. The meat was moist. The cole slaw was creamy and sweet....delicious. They do a robust business in-house and carry out. If you are looking for avocado toast and and oat milk latte, this is not the place to come. If good old comfort food will suffice, then it just doesn't get better than Lumpy's.

I went with a group, we tried everything, ranging from pancakes, to omelettes, and especially that they have, which is kind of a mixed breakfast skillet. I made my own omelette and there were plenty of toppings to select and customize it in the way that you wanted. The mail comes with your choice of toast and fried potatoes, which I think Minney would also called shredded hashbrowns. I hate a skimpy omelette, and this one sure pleased me. It was filled with green peppers, plenty of cheese and ham chunks. The food came out piping hot. The waitress was attentive and kept our coffee full as we sat and visited for an hour. The restaurant was filled with locals, and I love the vibe, there are plenty of spaces to eat alone, or groups and tables together, and bring your family. It is also worth noting that in the 2023 Tri State Food Battle battle in Connersville hosted this year by Friends of Fred; this restaurant placed third place with their food truck. Give it a shot, it is worth the drive!
