The restaurant that used to be known as Magis has reopened as Hometown Family Diner. The service was a little slower than it used to be, but the waitress was very polite. I absolutely love crispy bacon and it was perfect. I also liked that rye toast was an option with my breakfast instead of just traditional white or wheat bread. It was a very good breakfast and for two people we were able to eat there for less than $20. read more

They have Amazing food Especially Maggie's Biscuits and Gravy. So many people love this place

Although it's off the beaten path a bit, this is THE breakfast place in Connersville. Either get there at 5:30 to find a seat at the "liar's table," or mosey in around 10 or so on a Saturday to get your morning meal while the old folks are just finishing up lunch. Either way, do not miss the biscuits under any circumstances. They are unbelievably good. The service is fast and unfrilly, and they finally got on board the no-smoking train. Oh, and be advised they close around 2 PM. read more

Maggies is the best breakfast in town and definitely where all the old locals go to eat. The ladies that work there have been doing it for years and know what they are doing. Everything on the menu is great and you won't be disappointed in much. Be prepared to wait though! even though this is a small town this place does get packed regularly. they are only open for breakfast and lunch though so don't expect to grab dinner here! read more

Maggie's Diner - a piece of cake with icing on a plate - Diners Near Me - Connersville, Indiana

Food's always good, just wish they took card since more and more people aren't carrying cash!

I walked into this way out of the way diner thinking that I was lucky enough to find a real farmer's diner that I was sure would get a great home cooked meal. Sadly, it is the worst place I have eaten in while in Indiana. The place is clean and the service was prompt. My server was very friendly and she got my and my guest's order correct, for the most part. The prices for the food are really good, but if it is a cheap price and tastes terrible, then price is not a factor. I would have gladly paid more money for food that was edible. My guest ordered two eggs, bacon, and toast. The eggs looked ok, I didn't taste them. I did taste the bacon, good cut of meat but over cooked and tasted a little dry. Nothing special about the meal. The bread could have come from Walmart for all I know. This place is cooking food, but there is no love in what they make, you could get better food elsewhere. I ordered a large bowl of grits that came with toast (wheat) and an egg sandwich. This is where we ran into trouble. My grits came and I was disappointed right away. They were not so much grits as it was more soup than anything else. When I dipped the spoon in and dug out some grits, it had a light blue color because the grits were so watery. Adding the customary butter and sugar didn't help at all. I gave it a minute or two to see if the grits would firm up, no luck there either. I have lived in the South for a long time and damn near every diner down South knows how to make grits. Not this place. In fact, when the server came back over to the table, I gave the bowl back to her and told her they were not made right, she said, well she did not know how they were cooked. I almost felt like going back into the kitchen to offer some lessons. The server, removed it from my bill. When you order the grits, you are suppose to get some toast with it, I never got that with my order. So I was down to just my egg sandwich. This was a straight up joke. It was nothing more than a fried egg between two pieces of toast. No flavor at all, not even some salt and pepper or butter on the bread. Have you guys ever heard of cheese, not at this place. I just grinned and kept going. The bread was soggy on the bottom from the sweat of the egg. The sandwich was barely edible. For the $1.45 I paid for it, I could have done better at McDonald's. Even though it was such a bad meal, I still left the server a customary tip. The cashier asked if everything was good, and I flatly said, "No it was not good." She just laughed it off which just annoyed me even more. You would think if a customer tells you they had a bad experience, you might be inclined to ask the manager to come talk to you. Nope... not this place. I saw other food like biscuits and gravy and pancakes the size of the plate going out to other customers. I cannot vouch if it was good or not, but it did look good. Maybe this place can only cook those things. Overall, this is not the place to eat at. The cooks in the back do not have any love for the food they are making and the staff seem to have the same amount of love for you the customer. read more

Great place with great food and great service. We love Maggie's! Always a great experience.

It is the get together place in Connersville, the food is delicious and it is home cooking. The waitress know the menu and have been working there for a while. Maggie cooks, waits, and greets people on a daily basis. The place is usually full and it is hard to find a seat most of the time, but it is worth the wait. The noise level can get a bit loud. read more
