My spot for fun and creative Xmas gifts. I can realistically find presents in this store for everyone in my family, even the difficult ones to buy for. The candy counter is splendid and gazing at the chocolates behind glass are the frosting on top of this cake. Twin cherries gummies were introduced into my brother in law via Parkleigh, he who now is an addict of them thanks to me. When I am in town and want to splurge on myself they never let me down here. From the creative kitchen gadgets to the blingy jewelry and delicious tea tastings they have I'm in heaven on Park Ave when I visit here. As a new yorker come to settle in Rochester, this is one of my favorite stores. They have an eclectic selection of goods which seem to change constantly. I often look to them for special gifts (for example, they have a nice selection of silver jewelry) and silly gifts (for example, I recently purchased a mood calendar for my husband). Although some of their prices may be on the high side, I've found that it really depends on what you are buying. For example, I have purchased a nice piece of silver jewelry for about $30 (a bargain in my book). The atmosphere is nice and the staff have always been friendly to me. They have free parking in their own lot behind the store and they offer free gift wrapping! I recommend this store if you're looking for something different or special! read more

Guys, be ready to never see your wife/girlfriend ever again. there's all sorts of great stuff in here, FOR THEM. That's my main problem with it, if I don't want chocolate there's not much here for guys. And I do get I'm not their target audience. I always loved coming here. The gifts are a bit pricey but it's always fun to look. Yesterday, I went with my Mom and I won't say all, but 3 employees were rude and seemed to HATE their job! This is a great store for browsing, you never know what you might find! There's a great selection of Vera Bradley bags, gourmet chocolates, and even novelty toys. I love getting birthday presents and cards here because they have things you'd never find anywhere else. I was at Parkleigh on Saturday for Shop Local Saturday working on my holiday giving list. I found Thymes lotions for my mom, herbal tea for my MIL, local Keuka Coffee Roasters coffee and a locally made soup mix for my FIL, and a cool adult coloring book for my sister. Parkleigh has a great assortment of products. They gift wrapped all of my purchases and gave me free Vera Bradley perfume samples. They also had a person outside directly the parking which was nice because parking can be tough there. I would recommend Parkleigh if you are looking for interesting gifts to give this holiday season. read more

I really like this store! so many unique gifts to choose from. The store is very well organized and put together. I love how they gift wrap items free of charge it adds a nice touch and saves some money. The employees are also very polite and helpful. The thing that bothers me are the prices some times are just so expensive. Also since the last time I was here they have updated the place with so many gay pride items it's over bearing. Maybe pump the brakes a little and possibly offer a wider variety of less expensive items like a $10 and below section. All in all a great place to go Christmas shopping! read more

GENERAL MANAGER IS SO RUDE. I have always loved Parkleigh, that's the only reason I'm giving two stars. I have been going for years to buy gifts, accessories, and more. I bought a necklace for myself and my friends both bought the same necklace as well. They have had zero issues with theirs and mine broke twice. I went in the first time and a very kind woman immediately fixed the problem for me. When it happened the second time I went in and spoke to the general manager who said to me "maybe it's just not the necklace for you, what do you expect me to do? Refund your money?" To which I replied I was careful with it and just would like it fixed again. She told me she was unable to and when I asked if she could order me another one she told me she didn't know how long it would take and it could be a while, but that she would update me on the progress to which she never did. When my replacement arrived there was a mishap when I returned their phone call about pickup and two necklaces were set aside for me. When I went to pick it up today the general manager once again was incredibly rude to me. She said "I called you and left a message and for some reason you called again and now there's two back there" she then proceeded to tell me that this was the last necklace they would give me and to be more careful to which I replied I was indeed careful, and that this was my second necklace. She then told me no it was my third even though it wasn't, I had one which I attempted to be fixed twice. She was so rude and made me and my dad both incredibly uncomfortable. I will now take my business elsewhere due to her awful attitude. read more

Ah, Parkleigh. A store filled with simply amazing products and fantastic chocolate. Who could go wrong? They carry a line of Bloomsberry and Vosges Haut Chocolate that I always feel the need to pick up one of either company's newest and craziest concoctions. A bacon chocolate bar? Sounds gross, but it's AMAZING. You could call it a breakfast chocolate. Beyond an array of handmade chocolates and petit fours there's a card selection that cannot be beat. If you're into Vera Bradley bags they have everything you could pretty much want, including stationery (they sometimes do sales, so be on the lookout!). They sell jewerly and shoes (though I'm not too keen on any pairs I've seen there), soaps and perfumes. They do this thing called Banana Thursday where they choose a random Thursday of the current month and give bananas to their customers. I'm also pretty sure that it signifies some kind of sale, but I can't remember if that's right. Their staff is really the only reason that it gets four stars instead of five. They have their good days and their bad, but their bad days are more like being a little indifferent. I've never had any of them give an attitude, but for such an amazing place you expect the staff to be just as cheerful. read more

Poor customer service. I am writing on behalf of my 11 yo daughter who was excited to use a gift card she received for her birthday. She purchased a (what I think is an excessively overpriced) Kate Spade office supply kit (but she used her money so I can't complain). When she checked out she was asked the value of the gift card, which she didn't know since it was a gift. Instead of taking a little effort to look up the value, the clerk snidely asked why she didn't know the value, essentially deriding an 11 year old girl. The store was not busy at the time. For some reason the gift certificate conundrum required the manager to assist- who was equally derisive. After tapping away on the computer, the clerk made a curious comment that she'd guess it to be $25 and was correct. No apologies for the rude behavior from either the clerk or manager. Both were seemingly unaware of how to treat customers. My daughter now opts to waste her money at 11th Hour. Parkleigh is a Rochester institution - I used to go there as a kid for Jelly Bellies. Hopefully this experience was an aberration. read more

Mackenzie-Childs heaven! Vera Bradley dreamland for the ladies! Great bridal registry. They were so helpful when I was shopping for my friend's wedding. Amazing customer service and outstanding fun product mix. This is the best gift shop in Rochester and has more parking than any other store in the Park Ave area of Rochester. I love it! Oh, I forgot to mention the candy counter. The Vosges dark chocolate bacon bar is my fave! "Like" them on facebook it's like a live feed to all the cool new stuff that get in on a daily basis (I'm addicted). Plus they have really fun promotions like free banana day. I don't know exactly when or why they do it but it's so cool if you happen to shop that day and they give you a free banana to snack on. read more

This place is ok but I do find it expensive for the quality of the things they offer My primary reason for shopping there is when I get in a Mackenzie Childs mood and want to buy some new piece. If they do not have it there they will get it for you so you save on the shipping from the factory . Parking is sometimes a problem so I usually go during the week . We are like the Country Mouse and City Mouse- I am really from farming country in rural Western NY- lots of kids, a plain-Jane sort; she's single, no kids, free and pampered.
