So much to look at!! Really cool options for gifts! I loved the environment and all of the options! There was stuff for everyone. Cards, stuffed animals, candy, chocolate, stickers, etc... I've never been and we were there for an hour!

We visit the shop every holiday season during our Park Avenue adventure. The variety of items is very large from house wares body care jewelry clothing coffee and chocolates. The mood is relaxed and not rushed so take your time and enjoy each separate room and all the of unique displays. The associates are always very helpful so don't be afraid to request assistance.

The only place I could find postcards-and they're beautiful!

My cousin, so thankful for my cousin who sent me here after I told her I needed postcards. Not only do they have postcards, but they areworks of art. This is such a wonderful store for everything you could think of! It has a great selection of everything from home decor, jewelry, clothing you need not go elsewhere if you're looking for gifts to bring home. For the unique selection that they had I felt like the pricing was fair. I will not come to Rochester again without coming here. Everyone was so wonderful and helpful, but I especially want to mention Rachael. I feel like she's my soul sister for so many reasons and she'll know why if she sees this... This was one of my most enjoyable experiences since I've been here!

For the past couple years I have kept driving past this place. I don't know why. But today, something was different. I stopped and I am so glad I did. It was a customer appreciation event where everyone received 30 percent off their highest priced item. I had no idea about this until I got up to the register. If you leave empty handed from this store, it is your own fault. They have greeting cards, a really cool mix and different ones I have never seen like a snow globe style, and a message in a bottle, etc., they have Vera Bradley, socks, candles, bath products, clothing, jewelry, candy. They have such unique and cool things I haven't seen anywhere else. There is so much to look at and products are in every nook and cranny. If you have someone hard to buy for on your list, stop here. You'll find something pretty awesome.

Parkleigh holiday bells for your gift.

Love this little corner of heaven on Park Avenue. It is one of the only places you can purchase Hawaiian Kona coffee at all, much less whatever amount you want. They then package your purchase artfully and the coffee manager has the most beautiful handwriting so we use the labels on our home airtight ones. There is a delightfully eclectic mix of personal care lotions and potions and who knows what, there are many cute pairs of socks, gourmet condiments and meal starters (like chili), a wall of coffee beyond Kona, cute jewelry, fancy pens, a whole chocolate truffle bar, greeting cards for occasions I didn't even know were occasions, and almost innumerable other items that you didn't even know were things, but must now have. Variegated merchandise notwithstanding, the very best part of Parkleigh is its friendly, helpful, good-natured, extremely intelligent, accepting, and kind staff. They treat you like your presence made their day entire. Whimsical also; I bought a pair of socks with the Kanigawa wave print on them (I love that) and a beautiful and witty concierge asked me if I wanted it wrapped up. Of course I do! She then asked if I wanted little metal holiday bells added to the gift package! Because I'm 60 going on 8 years old OF COURSE I did. I would recommend this place highly for any purpose you might find to go to a gift store.

I really like the this place, so many fun unique things to buy here! Parking available on the street or better yet there is a small lot behind the store with some really cool paintings on the buildings! The store is really large, with different sections of things such as jewelry, greeting cards, toys and Rochester gifts. One of my favorite areas is in the back, a selection of whole bean coffee in these huge open barrels... the smell alone is amazing!! I could live in this room forever! There is also a wall of local food items...BBQ sauce, olive oil, pasta, sauce...love that they are supporting local homegrown business. There are so many fun gift ideas here, i was laughing so much at the crazy unique things here... wide variety of greeting cards! Since there are so many things to look at, give yourself some time to check it all out.

This store is still a best kept secret! Going into this store is like going into the wardrobe, in the book, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe! You definitely loose all sense of time, become enchanted, and have a complete magical experience! This is THE store for unique, high quality errrvythang*!!! There is something for EVERYONE in this store. This store is now a permanent fixture on any of my gift wishlists, as well as my go to store, for buying gifts, and shopping for myself!!! The customer service is great from entrance to exit. I wish I would've took pics of everything I bought. I went in to buy some unique birthday cards, and X amount of dollars, gifts, bags later... Lastly, I am receiving compliments & praise for everything I purchased for myself & friends and family. Special shout out to Ann in jewelry! Ann was very helpful, funny, & pleasant to talk too.

How have I not reviewed Parkleigh before? On top of being an amazing place to buy gifts, they also have their own little shop that Sells mackenzie childs and kate spade items which is wonderful! They do an amazing job at gift wrapping. They also have the cutest reusable totes now. You can find vera bradley items, kiehls, blue sky, and pretty much presents for anyone, ages newborn to 99. They have funny items, serious items, goofy cards, jewelry, socks, aprons, you name it. It's a little more upscale and I always end up buying myself a couple knickknacks. This trip, it was a diego rivera coloring book.

Parkleigh-- always coming through for my last minute gift buying!

Parkleigh is a wonderful, classy gift store. Whenever I find myself in need of a quick gift for a friend or loved one, I try to stop here. Awesome cards, jewelry, clothing, toys, paper products, face and body products, candy, coffee and specialty food items, and quirky gifts you've never seen anywhere else. They have a great eye for high quality, stylish, and unique goods. On my most recent visit, I was shopping for a baby gift for a 1 year old. There were so many nice options it was actually hard to pick! I ended up purchasing a high quality toddler dining set (that suctions to surfaces!), a cute soft board book, and of course a card. The ladies working there wrapped it up in a box for me with a ribbon, and I was good to go! Also, they happened to be giving out free bananas that day, which was an added bonus! Only downside to Parkleigh is that it is a little pricey... but not enough to negate a star for. The convenience factor (not having to go to the mall!) and extremely pleasant shopping experience they provide makes shopping there worth it to me. Check them out when you need a gift, or just want to treat yo'self! Shop local!

get a very snooty vibe from the whole place, not worth a special trip or anything, fun to browse around if you are in the area.

Potential students beware. It seems to be all about the money!…read more I registered and paid for a stained-glass class at Studio 34 through the Rochester Brainery for $295. The class was supposed to have been taught by a world-renowned glass artist, and the class description read that it included all the glass and all materials except for protective eyewear. On the first day of class, the instructor, who was not the professional glass artist listed in the course description, had us look through bins of glass scraps after we'd decided on a pre-approved design. While I found some pieces I could use, I could not find green or blue glass that matched and/or were large enough for the design. The instructor looked too, couldn't find any, then brought out some sheets of glass for me to choose from. At no point was there a mention of having to pay more for the glass. When I showed up the following week, I was told that I had to pay for the green and blue glass I'd picked out the week before. I objected, and the instructor said I had to call the owner, who said that the bins had copious amounts of glass for the projects. They did not. They were inadequately stocked. I was not the only one having difficulty finding glass. Every student had trouble. The owner said that my options were to pay for the glass or take a refund for the class. I will not be forced into paying for glass that was supposed to be included in the class cost so I took the refund. If there was an additional cost to the glass, that should have been said upfront when the sheets were brought out by the instructor. And it turns out that this class does not even provide the finishing piece so we couldn't actually hang our stained-glass projects. We could only leanthem against a window. The finishing piece is part of another class and this was not mentioned in the course description. Another class and more money to finish one piece. When a course description says we're going to be instructed by a glass master, I expect that it will be unless I'm notified in advance that it's not the case and offered a chance to opt-out at that time. When a course description says the class includes the materials, I expect to be able to find glass that I can use to create an integrated piece, rather than random scraps that result in a mismatched mess. The only other option offered was to open my wallet and pay more.

The studio is located on the second floor of a multifunctional historical building in the Neighborhood of the Arts. When you come to the studio don't be afraid to knock on the door... just walk in. They keep the door closed because of the a breeze that can sometimes effect the art work going on inside. All of the staff members I met were super friendly and professional. I came to the studio with no experience in any of the art they offered and absolute no knowledge. Marilynne and her instructors are excellent teachers and truly care to make your experience special. The class size I sat in on was a glass fusion class. If you don't know what that is(which I didn't before I stopped in) it's where you cut colored pieces of class and place them on a big piece of glass. Once you get your desired arrangement it then gets put in a furnace and melts into an awesome piece of art, just the way you arranged it. The class was a small class size, 4 people total. The instructor gave the students great instruction, then let them get creative. She offered pointers and answered questions along the way. I look forward to signing up for some of the hot glass classes. Also, it's important to note that Studio 34 repairs jewelry. So if you have a favorite piece that needs mending whether its glass, beads, or metal...stop in here!
