Extremely disappointed in our puppy's first "puppy" cut by Ginger. Will never go here again. Her hair between her eyes was shaved down to her tender skin as well as her full belly around her privates. Poor baby walked around with her tail tucked for the past two days. Not at all what I was expecting for a puppy cut. We still cannot pet her left ear two days later? I don't see an injury but she's definitely been hurt. I love my dogs and protect them like I would a child. I'm sure she was traumatized I'Il be looking for a mobile business that will provide a service at my home from now on. Trust me, this groomer definitely doesn't know what she's doing or she's not a compassionate groomer with puppy's. I'd go somewhere else! read more

After having very stressful health issues for 2 months, I knew my sweet pups needed attention to their grooming that I could not give. So a neighbor recommended Parker and I made an appt. First impression was awful as I was talked down to for self grooming techniques with my "Walmart" clippers. They are professional grade and I have used them for 10 years. When I took them home they wailed all the way. I spent another hour at home fixing their sloppy work. And don't get me started on nail trimming! I don't think I saw a smile from anyone there. COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE. MY DOG DIED BECAUSE OF THIS BUSINESS. I'm not one to write a review ever, but this deserves attention to anyone who cares for their dogs safety. I boarded my French Bulldog here as I have a few times in the past and left the ladies in charge with VERY VERY specific instructions that he was not allowed to 1. Be left out of his cage/run for any reason and 2. Not to be allowed around any other dogs, because my other dog who has to stay with family has an auto immune disease and can pick up things easily from other dogs. So I didn't want my French Bulldog Hank to get sick with anything and transfer it to my other dog. The ladies said absolutely we will make sure he is isolated and make note of it as well. Come the day before I am suppose to get back into town I get a call that Hank was let out of his cage into the yard with a Pit Bull and was attacked and had been in the vet and other intensive care places with very bad injuries to his whole back side! He had huge cuts and deep punctures to his whole back side and his hip was dislocated in the process. Over two weeks he developed a flesh eating disease that was too far spread and he ended up passing away from his injuries. These people have no respect for your animals. They have zero standards and should be shut down 100%. Complete negligence on whoever let my dog out of his cage and much less into a space with a dog much larger than him. So if you care about your dog's safety there's absolutely no guarantee this place will be able to provide that. read more

My family and I went on vacation recently with our German Shepherd puppy to Alabama/Florida from Houston. We wanted a couple days without the dog to enjoy the beach. We found Parker Kennels and I reached out. They made sure to check vaccination records as they take pride in keeping the animals safe and healthy. When I brought my puppy Goliath, they greeted him with so much love and made it a great first experience for him. We got him back all happy and bathed. What separates them from most other kennels is that they took the extra step by mailing me a handwritten thank you letter to my Houston home. Wow! read more

I have a male cat who started to rapidly gain some weight due to being neutered. He couldn't groom himself very well, so I decided to get him groomed. Just a sanitation groom, nothing fancy. He had never been groomed before, and he is 3 years old. I called around to multiple groomers asking if they groomed cats to which all responded with no, except Parker Kennels. I made an appointment with them, and didn't expect the service I got. When I brought him in, they made me feel like an outsider. Kind of like I didn't belong there, and allowed some other people (I'm assuming regulars) to go in front of me even though I'd gotten there before them. I dropped him off, and they actually had him ready to come back home within 3 hours. They had a few dogs to groom before getting to my cat, so that's understandable. When I went to pick him up though, I paid and tipped a fairly generous amount, I went to sit in the little waiting area. I was on my phone, and I look up to see my cat in his carrier just sitting on the floor. No one said anything, just sat my cat in the floor and went back to work.... Very odd in my opinion. Anyone could've walked up and grabbed him. They're only getting 2 stars for grooming him how I asked, calling me when he was ready to be picked up, and getting it done sooner than I expected. Took away three for making me feel like I didn't belong, letting people in front of me when I was there first, and just leaving him in the floor without letting me know. read more

Took my 2 small girls in for grooming today.mia was shaved to the skin. The head cut was uneven but at least she has some hair left somewhere. Thought someone should ask me before taking that far down. Woman was agitated as I arrived 9 minutes late and was rude and agitated. My other baby's face still had her breakfast on it. Doesn't look like they touched ears. Also Delilah has beautiful long black eyelashes, she now has one. You decide. Pics attached. I'll give them that they did toes very well, that's about it. Very disappointed in my experience with Parker Kennel Grooming. The first two grooms were fine. The third groom was not. My dog came out looking just the way he came in. I was told they keep no records on the dogs, so they could not see what blade was used previously. I explained exactly what I wanted to Ginger, which she did not do. I wanted him smooth all over, including the ears with a little curl on top of his head. He was a shaggy mess and ears were full of hair. My dog was there from 830a to 200p. She told me to bring him back early the next morning. I could not bring him back the next morning, as I don't live in the area and was in the process of moving. I asked to have my money refunded and I would take him somewhere else. Jessica said they don't refund money. They were not apologetic or sensitive to wasting my time and money. I am concerned that they do not require vaccination records for grooming, which is dangerous for the dogs. Also, while there I had to use the bathroom. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty, which makes me wonder what the grooming area looks like. I definitely do not recommend Parker Kennel Grooming. read more

I'm very picky when it comes to my fur children. I used the same groomer for 13 years until she retired. I was devastated, but knew I had to find another because I had 2 female shih tzus that had to be groomed often. I was lucky enough to find Parker's Kountry Kennel. Believe me, I went in and checked the business out and actually went to the back of the building. It was clean and all the animals were well taken care of. They didn't know I was coming either. I purchased male shih tzu in 2010 that my girls hated. I decided to take him to doggy daycare, so I looked at several in the Elberta and Foley area. While having the kids groomed one day I talked to Jamie and decided to give them a try. Needless to say, Tank loves going to daycare. When we get to Co. Rd 65 in Foley, he goes crazy cause he knows where he's going. He's been going there for 2 1/2 years and still does the happy happy happy dance on the way! As for the other comment, I have never had that experience. I know my babies won't eat if they are away from home, so if they happened to lost weight, I would attribute it to being away from me, not "unacceptable care". And 15 days, yes they probably would loose weight. I just wanted to say how much we love everyone there. Jamie, Jennifer, Jessica and Ginger, you ladies rock!! And that's why I send everyone that ask about groomers, boarding and daycare to Parker's. I just wish they had a vet on staff!!! read more

Do not use this boarder!! We boarded our 2 big dogs here over the Christmas break for 15 days. When we picked them up, one of our dogs had lost 8 pounds, was covered in scabs and had a filled tick the size of a dime!! They did offer to pay our vet bill, which is expected, but offered no explanation as to the unacceptable care of our dogs. We will never use this kennel again and are saddened that anyone could treats animals this way. read more

Will be picking up my 3 dogs tomorrow. Not sure why the previous reviewers had issues. I had ZERO problems. The staff is super friendly, minimal paperwork, make sure you have vaccination records on you for your pet from your vet! The kennels themselves are clean and well cooled. They have large ceiling fans. If it starts getting hot they turn the AC on. They told me this when I arrived and when I checked on my dogs on the hottest day here sure enough the AC was running I did not have weight loss issues regarding my pets, I left more than enough food for a week. They always had food and water and they appeared quit happy too. I will use Parkers again when I need to kennel my dogs when I'm in the area. Picked up my dogs and they where still fine. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this boarder! We have 2 pit bulls & a jack russell and we board them here ALL the time. They are so friendly and obviously love & care about our dogs. They are super flexible on drop off & pick up times unlike most other vets/boarders we've used. The selling factor with us is their indoor/outdoor kennels. The kennels are 4x4 inside with the outside wall being concrete. The outside wall then has a cut out opening that can be opened or closed. When opened the dogs have their own ten foot chainlink run to play in. When the door is shut the inside is heated & cooled. This is great for our two big dogs who require a lot of excersize. Most other boarders just put the dogs in a inside kennel and are only let out twice a day for a few minutes. And for the other review about them not taking care of the persons dog. We've never had that problem but many many dogs do not eat when they are boarded. Its a seperate/anxiety issue. My sisters dog in GA will not eat at the boarders either so they can only board him for short periods of time. And as for the tick, yeah that's gross, but it happens. I'm VERY disappointed in the severe neglect of my 2 dogs during their 3 day stay while I was at a work event. They were NOT fed for an entire day and didn't receive their medications during their whole stay! I toured and researched several boarding kennels a month prior to their stay to ensure a comfortable time with little stress. However, they were forced to suffer being hungry while being afraid in a new, strange place. When confronted with the issue, Parker Kennels said the workers had been "talked to" and it wouldn't happen again. It definitely won't happen with my dogs again - they will NEVER be back. Any worker that would neglect to feed an animal, doesn't deserve to work with them!! read more

I have boarded my small dog here frequently for over six years. We travel often so I was happy to find a place with big cages and out door runs. We are often gone for three weeks at a time. Never have we had any issues and our dog comes back bouncy and happy. The same staff has been there for years. I have tried a couple of other places but my dog was unhappy. Also, no,other boarding facility offers such spacious accommodations. We also get our dog groomed there. read more

Over the past 3+ years Mr Parker and the staff have worked extremely hard to rebuild Parker Kennels to what it was before it was sold. Wish we had read the reviews first. We went because someone we know takes their dog there. We took our two large dogs, one was 65 pounds the other 75 pounds, for ten days over the holidays. The kennels have runs very similar to those used by the Human society. Our dogs were placed in a 4x4 concrete space with a 16 foot run. They were given no comfort measures such as padding or bedding. We left just enough food for the time they would be there, plus more then enough medicine for one of the dogs. When we picked our dogs up it appeared that both of them had lost weight. The smaller of the two had actually lost 7pounds. The smaller one was very dehydrated as well. This was astonishing given the fact that they gave us food back and the medicines were all gone. Both dogs had diarrhea for 4 days upon their return. When we picked the dogs up, before seeing them, we inquired about their stay. We were told that they did just fine and ate all their meals. This was obviously untrue when we saw the dogs. Furthermore the woman in charge seemed very dismissive and uncaring. When we dropped off the dogs she asked no questions (including not asking their names). I would not recommend anyone board their pets at this facility. read more

I will not use this facility again. When we arrived I noticed standing water in the run where they were going to put my 2 small dogs. I was told standing water "was not typical" and the run was quickly mopped. When I returned at my indicated date and time, both dogs were brought out wet and absolutely filthy. I was told they had been "out playing" in the yard that A.M.. Since it was mid-day I asked why they were still wet and was told that after being "hosed out" their run still had some standing water in it. My return was indicated when I dropped the dogs off. I do not understand why they were allowed to get so filthy when it was clear they were going home soon. I brought both dogs in clean and feel they should have been returned in a reasonably clean state. If the operators didn't want to ensure their cleanliness, why were the dogs permitted to get so dirty? I am bothered even more by the thought that the dogs were in a wet or damp environment for any length of time, especially as the temperatures were fluccuating between night and day. To top it off I had been in airports or on planes since 5 A.M. and the last thing I wanted to do was wash 2 dogs and clean my car which was made dirty as well and smelled like wet dog. Since I would have no peace of mind leaving my dogs again, I cancelled my reservation for Christmas, and will not recommend this kennel to friends. Sadly, I left my 1 year old puppy here over Christmas. Even though they supplied food, i didn't want to change his diet and environment since we had never been away from him for more than a day. When I picked him up after 4 1/2 days , he had lost weight. The bag of food we supplied was brand new and over the time he was there they had only used about 2 cups of food out of the bag. He also smelled like urine and mildew as well as his blanket was soaked and stinky. We gave specific instructions about treats and toys , which we supplied, and none of them were followed. I called the kennel and asked for the owner to call me back to explain but she refused. Would highly recommend using someone else if you care about the treatment of your pet. read more
