Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review for Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy…read more When you pick up medication in person, the staff is courteous and professional. That part deserves acknowledgment. However, my experience with their delivery service has been consistently problematic, and at this point, unacceptable. I will not mention names, but the delivery drivers they outsource to are unreliable, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. I've experienced repeated delivery issues, including false claims that my address was incorrect, despite the fact that they have delivered to this same address before, albeit with ongoing problems. What makes this worse is the timing. There is an incoming snowstorm, and instead of clear communication or accountability, I'm receiving inaccurate information and excuses. Medication is not optional. This is not a package from an online retailer. This is someone's health. I am now seriously considering transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy should reevaluate the third-party delivery partners they choose to work with. Thank your delivery partner for losing patient trust and potentially compromising access to essential medication. Courtesy at the counter does not make up for a delivery failure. Reliability matters. Accountability matters. And right now, those standards are not being met. Very disrespectful and inconsiderate - they have no regard for the elderly and the disabled.

Next day, I call in the morning and am told that the cashier would call the driver and get back to me. They never did. When I called back 2.5 hours later, I am told that they did talk to the driver and my meds were back at the pharmacy and I could pick them up now. When I did, I also wanted to talk to the pharmacist about what happened as I was annoyed. His story about what happened didn't align with the cashier's and he couldn't give me a direct answer about why I never received the meds the day before. It was all double speak; Somehow my meds were both never picked up AND picked up. I don't like being misled.

They call to take payment over the phone, they have automated texts when your prescription is being delivered and reminders to refill your prescription. Their customer service is professional and they always have staff on hand to answer any questions that I may have. Unfortunately, they are not the best if you need a medication filled quickly. The immediate need for AA batteries is part of my emergency preparedness plan should the world plunged into darkness from Ragnarök becoming a apocalypse intolerable living environment. Or, another massive power outage to plague the Northeast well... at least I have batteries for a AM FM radio; flashlight and clocks for survival. Upon entering this local pharmacy I was promptly greeted as the male sales associate appears lonely, bored, and isolated from the world on a artic cold January, 2024 Saturday morning. He was extremely chatty in attempt to lure me to transfer all my prescription medications to Mela Pharmacy for me to remain in this brick and mortar listening to his mediocre sales pitch, but I was not in a homeopathic mood nor enthusiastic for any light conversation. I am more upset with getting there and being told that my medicine is no longer in stock (even though I call and confirm the evening which I will be coming to pick up). The staff really doesn't even care the slightest, nonchalantly gives the "oh, I gave away the last one of those prescriptions earlier today, so you'll just have to come back when we get more in stock" speech. What? Umm. The hours are really not convenient for someone who works long hours and they are closed on Sundays which doesn't help. To not even be a bit empathetic or pretend to be upset about having a customer come there, just to be turned away AFTER CONFIRMATION of pick up date is actually disgusting customer service and plain rude.
