Park Springs is a vibrant community with lots to do--water volleyball, bridge, good fine and casual dining, lots of special events, even a Wii bowling league!! It's a wonderful place with many onsite amenities like a fitness center, heated therapy pool, onsite personal trainers, dry cleaning, laundry and home cleaning services and much more. It rivals a luxury hotel. (Knowing that a place like this exists actually made me feel better about getting older myself.) However, unlike a luxury hotel, Park Springs' lack of adequate interior signage is a big, BIG downside. The signage is horrid. This makes it hard for the residents, especially the new ones or those with poor memory, to participate in all the wonderful activities. I've heard some are afraid they will get lost if they venture too far from their units, so they hardly ever leave their units without an escort, instead opting to have food delivered each day (another one of the nice onsite perqs). The confusing way the main buildings are attached makes them a virtual interior maze. Still, that could be overcome with tasteful directional signs in the hallways and on the elevators. A retirement community for those with "over age 50 memory" should have at least as much tasteful signage as a fine hotel or a Buckhead office high rise, and for this reason I cannot in good faith give Park Springs a higher-than-average rating, even though it has the potential to be rated much higher. Without adequate signs, I've gotten lost myself. Management and owners need to correct this problem ASAP. read more

I worked as an LPN for this company for 5 days. 3 days of orientation and 2 days Orientation on the clinical floor. All I can say is what glitters is not always gold. This place has no structure and Fraud! I quit immediately. My licenses is to important...To date I have not been paid from my days worked and it's going on their 3rd pay period since I left. This just shows how unprofessional they are! If you have any integrity and you value your license, Nurse or aide, stay away from this place. Don't believe the hype!! read more

This is the worst senior health care facility. My grandma died 2 months after moving in. She had a slip and fall 2 weeks after moving in when we told her she was a fall risk! To make matters worse my grandma had paid several months in advance but died at the end of January! Not only did the keep her next months rent for 9k they are telling my mother she owes them an addI tip all 6 grand!! The worst part is my poor grandma had a stroke and could have been saved!! No one found her for several hours after it happened! Don't send your loved ones here!! There's a beautiful retirement center off five forks and Tom Smith that we toured. I wish we had used that one instead. My parents won't have a choice in the matter. They're both coming to live with me when they get old whether they like it or not. Which ought to be good entertainment since they're divorced!! Lol read more

As a caregiver and family member who has spent a lot of time at Park Springs, I wanted to offer a review especially from the perspective of family. Our loved one chose Park Springs because it was "the place he felt he could call home". As family members, regardless of our loved one's desire and social inclination, we wanted the new home to be a very safe place, as well as a proactive community. Park Springs, as a self contained community, is a peaceful and safe oasis on the outskirts of bustling Atlanta. It offers everything within its gates for those who prefer to remain safely inside, while also being a springboard of opportunity for members who wish to participate in Atlanta activities and to access resources beyond its community boundaries. Administration and staff strive to be professional, friendly, courteous, and caring from servers to valet to housekeepers to security to clinic staff to concierge services and all administrative offices. Having an on-site medical clinic is most advantageous and Dr. White is an incredibly dedicated and brilliant geriatrician and her team of nurses, liaisons, NP's and other staff are all so proficient working for the best care of Park Springs members. Members can independently go to the doctor on site or to the on-site physical or occupational therapists without having to navigate Atlanta traffic. Certain medical specialists visit Park Springs monthly or as needed, and Dr. White is proactive about recognizing when residents need to see a specialist outside of Park Springs. Dining at Park Springs is a pleasure. There are four different restaurants and the servers are very warm and personable. Nancy, the hostess, is amazing and loved by all! The menus offer great variety every meal and healthy options. The chefs are very responsive to residents' wishes and periodically send out questionnaires to residents asking about desired changes to the standard menus. Personal favorites include the grilled salmon lightly blackened, or grilled chicken blackened, hamburgers served any way you like, and Bistro Reuben sandwiches. The gym and health center is beautiful and for residents who enjoy swimming, Park Springs has one of the largest indoor pools of any such community. For other residents, being able to take the afternoon to play golf at the adjacent Stone Mountain Golf Club makes life grand. There truly is something for everyone from art classes to playing bridge to Wii bowling leagues. Even for others who really just prefer spending time in their special place they call home, it is wonderful to be part of a community with so many proactive members working with the administration for the common good of the residents, making sure needs are met and wishes are heard. Park Springs is a dump!! The place is NOT secured and the people in charge of running it do not care. The Executive Director is a good man, he tries to do the right thing but the "Ownership Team" will not allow him to do his job. They are out for the dollar, always looking for ways to squeeze more out of our parents and loved ones. The employees are constantly changing, especially the good ones, like the Chef, Director of Capital Improvements (this was a great man, that they ran off), Director of Nursing has changed several times, Director of Accounting was pushed out and CNAs, that should tell you plenty. The 'Ownership Team" has no idea what great people they have and/or had working for them, how their hard work promoted and improved the lives of people like my step father. I am so thankful we decided to get him out of there before it was too late. read more

The community itself is beautiful - very elegant and always clean. The staff (with the possible exception of the dining room servers) are disinterested in caring for the residents and the administration's main concern is bringing in money rather than the residents' well-being. This facility costs DOUBLE what other retirement facilities in the area cost and I expected my father to receive outstanding care. Since he is not, he will be relocating after just 6 months in the assisted living unit. read more

My parents have lived here since it was built. They are now 87 and 89 years old. I have never been in a nicer retirement home, and even though I don't live in Atlanta,this is where I would choose to retire !! The food is wonderful and the servers are SO friendly....always calling my parents by name and remembering what they like. The hostess always asks if you would like to dine alone or with someone. This helped my parents meet people when they moved in. Now, their social calendar is busier than mine !! Being around others in this beautiful, active place has made my parents act 10 years younger !! Several times they have been " too busy" with activities at Park Springs for me to visit!! I have to work my calendar around theirs!!! How wonderful !! The decor is absolutely beautiful. My mother dresses each night for dinner and this is the highlight of her day...catching up with the friends they have made and choosing what to have for dinner. They have Cobblestone for those who need care and cannot live in the apartments alone. To me, this place is the Ritz Carlton of retirement homes. I'd better get on the waiting list now !! After several visits to this community, I can certainly agree with the previous reviewer that getting lost is a given. I believe, though, that the owners are aware of this deficiency and say they are working on it. I've gotten lost each time I have visited: the driveway I was directed to in two of the cases was closed off and no alternate outlet direction provided. One main reason for living in a retirement community is security. It doesn't exist here, it's an illusion. The property looks nice and there is an imposing wall out front, but it is surrounded by a 4 foot chain link fence anyone can jump over. There are no locks on the buildings to keep out criminals, no cameras, only a rent a cop at the gate and supposedly one riding a golf car. It costs upwards of $67,000 a year to live in a 2 bedroom. You have to have assets in the top 10% of the population to qualify and you don't own it, you don't own anything. If you get real sick you can stay 30 days and then must find a nursing home on your own. You pay a huge amount of money for the illusion of security to live close in, but are no better off than living in town. In an emergency ,if someone wants to see you, they say they will leave your name at the gate, but they forget and the rent a cop won't let you in, it's totally up to a rent a cop. You can ask him to call the manager, assistant manger, sales, or his boss but he says they can't be reached. After waiting 15 minutes you give up and leave. You have a better chance talking to the Wizard of Oz , rather than talking to someone in charge in a crisis, I don't think there is a manager or else he is never on the property. The food is good, but there are better options further out. So is being close to Stone Mountain Park , worth the risk? I don't think so. As an engineer I worked with security all the time for the government. This place is not secure. They only want your money which they will get if you sign. Glad I found out the hard way. Incompetent and unconcerned upper management are running the place. read more
