Where else is that possible? I couldn't be more grateful for it. Quaint and cozy, easy to navigate and bound to have a rotating exhibit about Virginia history (as a former high school history teacher, I can't help but notice the opportunities to learn while waiting in the airport's tiny atrium for other arrival passengers or before your own flight takeoff?), I'd choose the calmness of this airport (almost) anyday. If only they had more connecting flights!

This thing is the most messed up anywhere. Yeah, it was after sunset, but the signage just blows. After three round trips using Apple Maps, I pulled over, gave up and used Google maps. Didn't help at all. The road signage is so fucking piss poor. Where I was going I finally gave up, and drove to the nearest highway, went 3 miles out of the way, and got to where I was going. Got to look at a lot of parking at the airport! And get a bunch of (free) tickets for parking because I was only in there for three or four minutes. But this is a major bullshit. I challenge any one who isn't there every single day, maybe say a manager of another airport? To try and find their way out of there simply. It's not doable.

We flew out of RIC recently, and used the Economy Parking Lot B to leave our car for 8 days. The gated parking lot was easy to find, on-airport, just off Airport Drive, on Ferncroft Road. It's within a half-mile of the terminal. Upon arriving, we were directed to a parking space. By the time we exited our car, the complimentary EasyPark shuttle was next to us, waiting to transport us to the terminal. (The shuttle runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). Upon our return, we paid for our parking ($7.00/day or $1.00/hour (fractional) at an AutoExpress pay station which are conveniently located throughout the terminal (including next to Baggage Claim). They also give a 30-minute amnesty period during which no additional charges accrue. Upon exiting the terminal, there was already a shuttle loading passengers to take us directly back to our car. The airport also offers a daily parking garage, hourly parking, valet, electric vehicle charging, and a cell phone waiting lot. One final note. We had previously used a private lot that also offers a shuttle to the airport. However, this private lot was MORE expensive than airport parking, even when we applied a membership discount.

It appears the clothing stores around here seem like they're completely missing the demographics of local neighborHOODs like of Seven Gables, St Paul's area and Varina. Doesn't seem like much is here for guys.. at all. Either way it doesn't matter it's usually dead here except for the restaurants like Olive Garden, Chik Fil A and Red Lobsters. What is strange is that everything here ..and near here seems to be a mini version of their West End counterparts. The Best Buy across the street, The Red Lobster.. all are noticbly smaller. There is a roundabout for some odd reason, and 70% of the area is empty parking lot. You'll ask yourself "wow do people around here know how to drive?!" the answer is likely no since two high schools are about 15 minutes away and the international airport is also close by..plus it's still new so you're getting a mix of newbies on the road dealing with a roundabout. Long story short I would not be surprised to see this place go the way of this area's last mall, Eastgate aka Fairfield Commons that's only 5 or so minutes down the street. People here are very rude except for Chikfila or whatever. I will never go to the GameStop here again, it' was my first time experiencing a ghetto GameStop. The employees wear urban clothes, du rags howeer you spell it.. kids are always in here and it's the size of a closet with maybe 2 bins of used games that are still fairly new and from this gen. Short Pump is still the best shopping center.

Unfortunately, when we arrived the valet service had 2 attendants (1 female and 1 male) trying to service a large number of customers. We parked our SUV in a line of 4 to 5 cars, all waiting to be parked. In addition to the 2 attendants trying to park the line of cars, they also had customers leaving the establishment and waiting for their vehicles. This should have been a WARNING sign for us! We brushed the concern aside and handed our key to the woman attendant, whom seemed quite frazzled with the volume of customers. Overall, we trusted that a high-quality restaurant would also employ a high-quality valet service. Unfortunately, that was NOT the case! After enjoying an awesome dinner with great service, we waited in a line along with other customers to retrieve our vehicle. At this point, the valet service had 3 attendants (1 female and 2 males). Once again, they seemed overwhelmed with the number of cars and were literally running around to get cars parked or returned. Mistakenly, my husband and I didn't want to delay this process any further and quickly provided the attendant with a tip and left. The next morning we noticed that the right front-end fender had some minor damage. We immediately took pictures and forwarded them to one of the managers at Morton's and advised of the situation. The manager, in turn, forwarded the information to the valet company. On February 16th, we received a call from Christopher Bystryk, Sr., president of Guardian Parking Management Services. He said that he planned to go to the parking deck to see if he could find any white paint on the wall. Really? Are you serious? While waiting for Christopher to "investigate" on his end, we took our vehicle to the body shop for an estimate and emailed it to him. The estimate was approximately $700 plus the rental car expense. After some back and forth and a promise to follow-up with us on February 22nd, he finally called on the 23rd. He said Guardian couldn't prove that one of their attendants caused the damage; therefore, his company wouldn't cover the repair but instead offered us $250. Where is your integrity? Where was the integrity of your employees on the night of February 14th? What ever happened to doing the right thing? Guardian was provided a picture of the damaged area, as well as pictures of the entire vehicle. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to surmise that the damage came from a parking deck! No one should EVER trust their vehicle to anyone working for this company!!
