What can $8M buy you in Honolulu these days? A posh, luxury 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath home at Park Lane, ocean side of Ala Moana Center. From the street, it's hard to get a feel for this ultra exclusive new complex. Drive up the long driveway and you honestly feel like you're at a high end outer-island resort. The lobby is two stories high, and completely lined in teak. Park Lane stretches over an amazing 7.3 acres! The most land of any condo complex on Oahu (Hokua another upper end condo nearby covers 4 acres). The complex is 8 stories high, conforming to the city height limit of 100 feet.
The goal of the developers was to create a single family home feel for it's discerning clients. Many of the units have their own two car garages and pools. Amazing 122 floor plans and 23 elevators to use for the 217 units. The unit I was able to see was about 2500 sq.feet with 10 foot high ceilings and on the interior of the complex--not right on Ala Moana Boulevard. Gorgeous, unobstructed blue ocean views and very, very quiet. The lanai was huge--big enough for a bbq, fridge, seating sofa area and table and chairs. The inside was open and spacious. The model unit was furnished by a firm from San Francisco--clean lines, white and natural. So many, many luxurious appointments within and outside your unit. From the lap pool, to beautifully appointed meeting rooms, to the bar/wine fridge room for all owners, to the massage and work out rooms, and fabulous indoor theater.
Currently the complex is 93% sold. About half of that to local residents and the rest to overseas buyers predominantly from Japan and other Asian countries. Amazing stone lined hallways, quiet and private. Honolulu has entered a different level of sumptuousness and lavishness with this project. And yet....with the understated elegance and laid back feel that is Hawaii. Who wouldn't want to live here?! read more
