She has a big heart and a crazy love for this island. We've lived on Maui for a couple years and she taught us some cool stuff that we didn't know. We hopped in her big van and had a fun tour to: -Ocean Vodka -Surfing Goat Dairy -Ali'i Lavander Farm -Ulupalaku Ranch + Maui wine And along the way she handed out fresh banana bread (that SHE baked!) and cold bottles of water (say what? So thoughtful!) As we drove, she would point out things like: the kinds of trees we were seeing, the history of this or that, how things had changed over the years... Interesting things that kept the conversation flowing. Her van has a microphone for her to use so it's great for people who sit in the back. We could hear everything she was saying. She made sure to open doors for guests and make sure the temperature inside the van was okay for everyone. There are different tours to choose from to hone in on where you want to go and what you want to see. She really knows her stuff and made us smile and laugh with her bubbly personality and energy. Prior to the pick up, Marilyn was always available via phone if I had questions about planning the logisitics and I found her to be very sweet and kind over the phone. As soon as Marilyn greeted me at the pick up, I knew I was in for a real treat. She has this magnetic energy and passion. She knows how to connect with people and make them feel comfortable. I was traveling alone and joined a group of others wonderful tourists that were part of the tour. Marilyn and Robbie were well versed in their knowledge of the history of the culture, agriculture and plants. The tour included stops at the lovely Lavender garden, Maui winery, and the Surfing Goat Dairy. Their timing was spot. One of the highlights of the tour was the lunch. It was in a lovely park, tucked away in a hillside, overlooking Maui, It was a perfect day. The real treat was when Marilyn pulled out her Ukulele and started singing lovely songs - one of which was "Somewhere over the rainbow". It was delightful. The tour ended with the other tourists departing at the airport. This was not just an ordinary curbside drop-off. Marilyn actually accompanied them to the check in counter and helped them get their bags through. This is not something that an ordinary tour company would do. I remained in the van and chatted with the delightful Robbie. I cannot thank Maui Country Farm Tours for such a memorable experience. It was truly one of the highlights of my trip, and I could not have done the trip alone. Marilyn has contacts and knows the inside scoop on how these various businesses operate. Willie took us to a couple away areas where, I think, he was assessing our hiking skills. From there he provided suggestions which he, successfully assessed, we could accomplish. Honestly, it felt a bit overpriced at $15 per person for what it offers. The garden is quite small, with not much to see, and we were able to walk through the entire place in about 45 minutes. Ironically, the most interesting thing we saw was a chameleon in a cage near the entrance, not the flowers or plants themselves. The cashier was friendly and provided us with a map and a quick overview of the grounds, which we appreciated. Overall, we weren't impressed and wouldn't go out of our way to visit again.

We paid and drove in and parked. There was no problem finding a spot. There wasn't a whole lot to see as far as the lavender growing or blooming, but we enjoyed what was available. We stopped in the market store and bought some organic lavender tea, brownies, and candy. I bought a sticker and my DIL also bought a couple of things to bring home for friends. There is seating with umbrellas which we enjoyed. It was another beautiful day in Maui. After the grandkids were finished, we went out to the large field. The adults enjoyed sitting in the grass and kiddos enjoyed rolling around in the soft grass.

We paid for three full spots for myself, my husband, and my mom. Based on the description of a walking farm tour, we expected a more immersive experience moving through the farm and exploring. Instead, the tour felt much slower paced and involved a lot more standing and listening than we anticipated. Our guide also seemed to lose his train of thought several times, which made the pace feel even slower. We were traveling with our toddler, and once he started having a hard time with the pace, my husband and I took turns leaving the tour and sitting in the car with him so we would not disrupt the other guests. We were trying very hard to be considerate of everyone else while still getting as much out of the experience as we could. I went to speak with staff twice while we were there because I was clearly struggling and trying to figure out what our options were. When I asked about a partial refund, I was told that they expect families to be flexible. We were extremely flexible. We took turns missing parts of the tour, separated from each other, and ultimately left only when our toddler became so exhausted and upset that staying through the meal was no longer realistic. What disappointed me most was the lack of effort to help us find any kind of solution. We paid for three full experiences and ultimately missed the entire meal portion. We were not offered food to go, a chance to come back later for the meal, a rescheduled visit, a credit, or any other accommodation. I understand now that the meal is served in multiple courses and may not have been easy to package all at once, but none of that was explained to us while we were there and no alternative was suggested. I also don't think it should fall entirely on a distressed guest, who has already spent a significant amount of money, to come up with every possible way the business could help. A professional business could have offered several reasonable options, even if a refund was not possible. The customer service after the visit was also disappointing. I emailed afterward asking management to consider a partial refund and received no response. I had to send a second follow-up email simply to get an answer. Only then was I told that management had reviewed the situation and would not offer any partial refund, credit, rescheduling option, or other accommodation. Management's response emphasized that our family made the decision to leave. Of course we made the decision to leave -- our toddler was exhausted and extremely upset, and we did not want to ruin the experience for everyone else. That decision came after we had already spent a significant portion of the tour taking turns away from the group and after I had spoken with staff more than once trying to find a solution. I completely understand that businesses have policies and that traveling with a toddler comes with unpredictability. My disappointment is not about expecting special treatment. It is about the lack of customer service, flexibility, communication, or goodwill shown both during the experience and afterward. For the price of this experience, I expected better communication and more effort to find a reasonable solution. Having to reach out twice just to receive a response declining any accommodation only added to the disappointment. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled afterward left us with an even worse impression than the tour itself.

The horses are well trained and super chill, and I felt comfortable very quickly. Our guide, Lewis (I hope I remembered his name correctly--the 18-year-old bull rider!), was a joy. He kept an eye on all of us, told some fun stories along the way, and made sure the ride moved at a comfortable pace. You can tell the ranch is a great environment for the animals, and the views are amazing. We were there on a Monday, so we weren't able to try a Bully Burger, but I'm sure they're delicious too! I would absolutely recommend this ride for both experienced and beginning riders.
