Road to Hana is a unique experience that involves driving down a long road (most likely from the…read morenorth side of Maui) down to the town of Hana. Along the way there are a variety of attractions like lush rainforests, waterfalls, hiking areas, and beaches. There are many so you'll have to do your research to find the ones you want to stop at. You will usually drive down the road, stop briefly for the attractions, then get back on the road to the next one. There were many windy and narrow roads and the driving isn't for the faint of heart. Some of the bridges are one lane so you'll have to constantly keep an eye out for cars around corners. I personally wouldn't drive at night and you really have to ensure you don't veer onto the other lane. Driving at slow speeds is a must and requires a lot of concentration. One of the other notable attractions that the road has to offer are the plentiful banana bread shops. We went to Aunty Sandy's Banana Bread which was delicious. It was pretty cool and I'm glad I got to check it out but I wouldn't do it again.

We learned lots about the area, laughed till we cried and felt like we met our new best friend on Maui. I really wanted to be present with my group so the fact that Henry captured photos and took videos of the day was the main reason I chose him. We received both within a couple days and have shared the video and photos to everyone in our lives. To say this was a magical, amazing experience doesn't sum it up enough but if you are reading this, don't hesitate, BOOK WITH HIM NOW!

Traveling solo, it feels weird to take selfies everywhere or worse, asking someone to take your photo. The tour was me and 2 other couples: one couple were newlyweds and the other couple were on their very 1st trip together (as a couple). (Honestly where do you go after a trip to a Hawaii?!?) We could not have had a group that meshed BETTER than all of us. Our guide Henry clearly knew "the good spots" because we didn't stop anywhere that anyone else was... he made us climb down treacherous "root ladders" and walk through the coldest water up to our necks but his ideas were always SO worth it. And he captured the best pics! I highly recommend this EXACT excursion because you don't have to worry about any photos. He has it covered, and trust me, it's truly UNFORGETTABLE!!!

We paid and drove in and parked. There was no problem finding a spot. There wasn't a whole lot to see as far as the lavender growing or blooming, but we enjoyed what was available. We stopped in the market store and bought some organic lavender tea, brownies, and candy. I bought a sticker and my DIL also bought a couple of things to bring home for friends. There is seating with umbrellas which we enjoyed. It was another beautiful day in Maui. After the grandkids were finished, we went out to the large field. The adults enjoyed sitting in the grass and kiddos enjoyed rolling around in the soft grass.

I would 100% recommend taking this trip while you are in Maui. It is an experience you will never forget. We started to trip with cinnamon rolls and they provided really great gluten free muffin for me. Then made sure to always provide GF food options for me throughout the day. Snorkeling was fun and accessible because they had prescription masks available, which is a must if you cannot/do not wear contacts and want actually see the ocean life. We had a plenty of time to float and observe the fish. Lunch was delish and they prepared some tasty gluten free noodles JUST for me. On the way back, one of our daughters helped hoist the sail and we were able to catch the wind of a bit. We also had the good fortune of observing a pod of Hawaiian spinner dolphins on the way to and back from Lana'i. Book this trip! It is SO worth it!!!

We started off the morning with homemade cinnamon roles and POG juice - so delicious! We went snorkeling at Honolua Bay and it was absolutely incredible. We saw beautiful coral, colorful fish and even sea turtles!! I had to squeeze my husband's hand because it was so magical!! After snorkeling, we ate lunch consisting of teriyaki chicken, rice, and salad! We were stuffed and the crew came around asking if anyone wanted seconds. On our sail home, we got the special 4th of July drink (since it was 4th of July, of course) which was a twist on their margarita. We had 2 glasses and then they served ice cream for dessert. Overall it was an incredible experience and I would recommend them to anyone staying in Maui! Our crew was super friendly, knowledge and made sure we got everything we needed. O'o Farms delivered a truly, unique and interactive experience with their Farm Tour and Farm to…read moreTable Lunch. I took my parents for their 44th Anniversary and we all love outdoorsy activities so I knew we'd all enjoy this! We were asked to arrive at 10:30 am for the tour and it lasted until 1-1:30 pm. Arrive with good walking shoes, SPF, light sweater and hat (it can get either a little chilly or hot from the direct sunlight), and well hydrated if possible. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tourguide, Kate from Maryland! She shared with us so many facts about the locally grown produce from herbs, vegetables, fruits, to the friendly worms, to compost and facts about the Farm and the hardworking staff! It was interactive because we got to sniff the herbs, taste the locally grown lettuce, carry a chicken (as seen in the photo with my mom), and even pick the Cherry coffee! After the 2 hour tour, the last hour takes you back to this beautiful seating area in a garden like setting for your 4 course lunch! Each course, the chef comes out and shares details of each course. First course was a Medley of Greens grown on the farm with Tangerine vinaigrette. It was a generous portion for our party of 3 and tried to eat it throughout. There was spiraled carrots and radish with julienned snap peas. Second course was Pan Seared Ono (their proteins are all locally sourced) with Mamaki Tea and Lemongrass Rice with Bok Choy, Collared Greens and Cabbage. Third course was my favorite! I'm usually a big fan of fish but the chicken was so savory and that rub was delish! It was an Organic, Cage Free Chicken with Coffee Cherry Citrus rub with Caramelized Coffee Honey Hash of Carrots, Parsnips, Rutabaga and Celery Root. The spread was a Turmeric and Parsnip puree. Last course of dessert was the O'o Freshly Brewed Coffee with Milk and Simple Syrup with a Dessert Platter of Fresh sliced Pineapple, Tangerine and Apple with Homemade Chocolate Truffles. The meal left us full and nourished! What a wonderful anniversary gift to give my parents. We truly enjoyed it and even made some new friends, both local and visiting.

We have taken three of their "Morning Walks" with our grandkids and it's a perfect introduction to hiking. Honestly we've had three different ...wonderful.. experiences. It's not strenuous and you're taken back to some private land that you'd not have access to if you just drove up and parked (if you found a parking spot) and hiked back in. We were lucky to have the lovely, fun, and knowledgeable guide named Randolyn ..aka Ran. She was the perfect blend of kind, patient and engaging with the grandkids, and very helpful with us old folks! On the drive on the way home she advised a few newbies to the island where some great places to eat were... they greatly appreciated her ideas! This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of the Magic Of Maui Experience taking us on the Road To…read moreHana. We had read many people saying rent a car and drive yourself using the app, to that I say not a good idea. My wife and I were both able to enjoy all of the views and all of the sites that were pointed out to us by our amazing driver/guide/new friend Patrick! If you're driving yourself, you're missing out. From the moment we booked this the owner, Dana, was exceptional in her communication and assistance in making sure this was the right tour for us. Patrick did an excellent job of taking care of us customizing our tour and making sure we saw everything we wishes to see and things that we never would've dreamed of seeing! In the past, I've had some challenges with motion sickness and had mentioned this to Dana, and upon arrival, Patrick had actually set up so that I could ride in the front seat if I was worried about the motion sickness issue. While I decided to ride in the back with my wife, it was a very thoughtful way to begin our day. There are too many stops to call them all out, but one that really will be remembered is when Patrick took us to be up close to Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees and picked us fresh strawberry guava's, that we had never had before, but they were wonderful. Patrick also provided some insight for stops that we would've never thought of such as Uncle Russell's Legendary Huli Huli Chicken for an awesome lunch and for amazing Dark Chocolate at the all organic self sustainable cacao farm East Maui Chocolate. We didn't know what we wanted to see and do, but Jackie took care of us! We were able to do a little of everything. Sampling cocoa, roadside stand with amazing banana bread and coffee, black and red sand beaches with a swim in the ocean, and swimming at the base of a waterfall. The stops we made were not overcrowded with large tour groups. While the road is very curvy, Jackie's drove so well not one of us was car sick (and two of us easily get motion sickness). Towels, snacks, bandaids, drinks were all provided. A well planned, comfortable trip. Truly an amazing experience. If you are visiting Maui, this is a must do tour.
