Can't wait to come back! (Which is a new thing for me to say about the dentist in general)…read more Every person was kind, attentive, and professional, even down to the front desk ladies! I have not had my teeth cleaned since 2017 for multiple reasons and they needed A LOT of tlc. April worked on my teeth when I was there and she was extremely patient and kind with me, even after my gums wouldn't stop bleeding like the Niagara Falls. Bless her soul, she was awesome. She gave me some great tips on how to take care of my teeth better. So thankful for the staff there. I came at a very awkward time after just finding out minutes before my appointment that my grandmother had passed, and she was very understanding and kind. Compared to past dentist experiences, I really felt like staff at Carlson Dental cared while also being really, really good at what they do. My teeth look and feel amazing. The place was also extremely clean and professional. Great staff, highly professional. Highly highly recommend coming here for any dentistry need.

Dr Joy (Carlson Dental)…read more I don't even know where to start. I came in last week with a cracked tooth -- face swollen, in serious pain, and honestly a little panicked. Dr. Joy and his staff got me in right away, no runaround, no waiting, even though it was an extremely busy day. Dr. Joy was incredible. He put together a thorough treatment plan, made sure I was comfortable and pain-free throughout the entire process, and handled absolutely everything. I couldn't have asked for better care. Five stars also to his assistant Anna who was so caring and reassuring. If you're looking for a dentist, someone who truly cares about patient comfort and quality dental care, I strongly recommend Dr. Joy. Laurie R.

I had been coming to Dr. Barnes for 10 years. Several incidents recently caused me to seek another…read moredental practice. 1) I had a change in my bite so significant that I could no longer whistle. It coincided with the start of wearing CPAP headgear for sleep apnea. I brought in the appliance. He would not look at it on my head saying it is not possible. I also brought a cast of my teeth from a few years prior to compare- he refused to look at it saying it wasn't necessary. (My new dentist identified that many people experience a change in byte with the onset of therapy) 2) I complained that there was a gap between teeth that smelled bad when flossing. He didn't X-ray the area. Instead he said, "he had one of those, too". (The new dentist used 3D xRay and found the source of the problem: a broken filling blocking the space between the teeth.) 3) In The summer of 2020 I had tooth pain and was headed to a remote location for a week and was concerned that it might get worse. Dr. Barnes was out of the office but referred me to an endodontist. Dr. Barnes never called afterwards to follow up that I was OK after he returned. 4) Dr. Barnes has not invested in any digital x-ray imaging stating other dentists are "lazy relying on it". The new equipment has so much less radiation that dental assistants don't even need to leave the room and they only place the lead apron on patients as they have come to expect it. (The new dentist identified 2 teeth that need root canals- I will continue to wonder if I wouldn't need this expensive intervention if caught earlier by Dr. Barnes.

First of all, yes the facility is in dire need of a major facelift. It's is so dark and dingy, and…read morethe cream color scheme does nothing to promote the feeling of modern and most importantly clean. Dentists offices should be bright, light and white! After my first time taking my kids there (because they are in network) for their annual check ups, I swore I would never go back. The reception staff were also very unfriendly that time, and we were kept waiting for over an hour before our visit and again a long time between each kid. However, one of my kids fell and chipped his tooth before I found a new dentist, so I had to take him back there. It was a much better experience. The staff were friendlier (not friendly, but better). Most importantly Dr Hannah Baek and her assistant just did a fantastic fixing the chipped tooth on my 8 year old. He was a nervous wreck, but they were kind and gentle, talked him through every step, explaining what they were doing and relieving his fears and uncertainties, and the end result was excellent, you can't even tell he ever had a chip. So No, I don't like the facilities, but it's the skill of the doctor that matters more and I was really happy with her work. IF I could break my score down it would be * for the facilities but ***** for Dr Baek. It looks like the entire building is being renovated, and all the offices one by one, so hopefully the renovation will make it's way to the dental office soon. If it does, then I have high hopes.

Fast forward two years later, only to find out that the root canal I had performed was not done correctly. After seeing an endontist and two other specialists, I was informed that the post was put THROUGH my tooth and was sticking into my jaw. (please see the photo of the xray taken) As of yesterday, 11/12/2014, the tooth was removed, and a bone graft was put in place. What should have been a simple procedure is now going to cost nearly $5500. As I sat there yesterday, looking at the tooth with the hole right through it, it saddened me to know that I walked away from there and was not informed of the mistake the day that it occurred. I can only hope that other patients take great caution with their trust.

As expected, I needed quite a bit of additional work done and I couldn't be happier with the service I have received at Wheaton Family Dental Care for the past two years. Dr. Philip always takes the time to explain any procedure and ensures that I am as comfortable as I can be. Let's be honest...going to the dentist is not my favorite thing in the world, but Dr. Philip and Liza have made it a great experience every time.

After doing much research, I found The Dental Studio and was impressed by the many great reviews. I've had lots of work done since then, and the combination of sedation, nitrous oxide and their gentle hands have made my appointments enjoyable. Today, I had an appointment for a checkup, and I honestly had ZERO anxiety before the appointment. I no longer dread going to the dentist! And, I also appreciate how their office does not feel like a sterile medical office; it's cozy and decorated like your friend's home. They also think of every possible comfort for the patient, including sunglasses to alleviate the glare of overhead lights, a weighted blanket, a tv for watching any favorite show during your procedure, and more. Even more important is that Dr. Erica and her wonderful team take time to explain everything, including what they are doing and why. They want you to be as comfortable as possible. And there's a complete lack of judgment. In the past, I've had absolutely no control over my dental experiences. The work was performed with very little concern for my pain and comfort. I've even experienced being held down during a difficult procedure with no painkillers and the same thing happened with my son when he was three. Marathon Man, anyone? At The Dental Studio, I feel that I have regained that control and that I am more than just a number. It is truly a patient-oriented experience here. I wish more of the medical profession would take notes from The Dental Studio. I also wish I could give them 10 stars!!! To show how much I love this practice, they are out of my insurance network. But they also offer a wonderful membership option to help! Don't hesitate - you'll love this practice too!
