I don't know the third dentist (Dr Javad, I think), so this review is a reflection on the office staff and not him. When I heard Drs Albazzaz/Safi left, I called to inquire about what happened. I had a hard time getting a live person to answer and when I did, she was clueless and said her manager would call me. No call back. I called again a couple weeks later and left a voicemail explaining that I had questions as to what was going on with their practice. Again, no call back. I'd had enough, so found a new dentist and called to cancel my upcoming appt at North Ave Dental Associates. I explained why I was leaving and they canceled my appt. Then, lo and behold, I get a call from their office a few weeks later asking to set up my next appt. I politely told them for the second time that I was no longer a customer. My wife had an even worse time- she emailed them in March to request her dental records as the new dentist required them. No response. She had to follow up both by email and phone several more times between then and early August before they FINALLY sent the requested records. Dealing with a dentist office should not be this difficult. The dentists here may be fine, but so are a lot of other dentists and many of them would come without the office staff headaches.

DR JAY PATEL is an orthodontic genius. DO NOT doubt it once…read more I am 27 years old, I got braces with him when I was 12. I had a significant overbite, gapped and crooked teeth. I clearly remember him being a charming man that would always make me laugh so I would be comfortable. After two years I had the best smile one could achieve. He placed permanent retainers behind my front upper and lower teeth and gave me separate retainers to sleep with. Like a common 14 year old, I lost those after 6 months, never getting to use them again. Let me tell you, IT NEVER MATTERED. I am writing this review to let you know my teeth did not budge one bit until about THIRTEEN years later as I now have a very small gap on the side of my smile, barely noticeable. That's how great his work is. It took almost a decade and a half for my teeth to change at all, despite me not using the recommended retainer and my permanent retainers remain intact. I have had many dentists praise his work and even ask for his name when going in for my yearly cleanings. I want to be upset at my small gap (and I am a bit lol) but I really shouldn't because if anything it's a daily reminder of the great artistry in Dr. Patel's work!
