It sits on Jersey Avenue in New Brunswick near the train station, Social Security office and Workers Compensation Court. It was a very convenient place to grab a quick desayuno y cafe while waiting for the opening of court. The staff was friendly and bilingual. I ordered their french toast and a cafe grande at the counter, where I also went to retrieve them when ready. To my surprise, the FT was good with adequate egg mix soak and the light hint of vanilla. The cheap syrup containers brought it down a notch, but not enough to spoil the enjoyment. The side of bacon was crisp, just as I like it. The java was strong as expected from a Central American kitchen. Brookside appears to be a regular stop to chow down and caffeine up for the work crews in the area. There were enough large tables to accommodate their mates and belts. I don't always have time to spare when I come up here as the traffic north on Rt. 1 and 27 can be daunting. But, when I catch a break and reach there early enough to have a few minutes, I will stop in again.

When I get back here again, the breakfast platter and soup menu both caught my attention as something worth trying.
