There was a deck that took up a huge amount of space and we had two trees that had been stuck in pots for over a year that needed planting. In just a few days the work crew had cleared out the jungle, laid down beautiful turf, removed 3/4 of the deck and built beautiful new stairs, and planted the trees! It's like adding 700sqft of useable space to our home. Working with Alvaro and Anna was a breeze. The whole process was trouble free. Each of the landscapers who worked on the job was professional, hardworking, and did a beautiful job. I will recommend Blue Cypress to anyone needing a job done. I'm sure I will also be calling them again in the future.

We caught Alvaro lying about serious mistakes in the electrical work that his team did as part of…read morethe package for doing our backyard. The improper wiring caused damage to our brand new hot tub. We had a third party inspect his work, which discovered additional electrical code violations and safety concerns. Unfortunately his response when we first told him about the bad wiring was to bring over his electrician and try to undo the mistakes without telling us, then claim that everything was fine all along. Well, we have multiple sources of evidence showing what the problem was and how he tried to hide it. Cannot recommend this company based on the outright dishonesty we experienced. One of the trees that he overcharged us for starting dying of root rot within 3 months, due to his team digging the smallest possible hole for the root ball. We dug it up and found the tree roots choking in a pool of old water due to a lack of drainage. A complaint with evidence has been submitted to the Contractors State License Board.

I cannot recommend Jose highly enough. I do not know of anyone more honest, ethical or hard…read moreworking. He cleared out our hillside which is on a steep slope and had left-over wood from 4-5 tall trees cut down over the last 30 years plus brush that had grown wild. After the first day of clearing out, it was clear that the job was much bigger and taking longer than Jose expected. But to Jose's credit he did not walk away from the job. He came back and finished the job and he did it in a thorough and complete manner. I kept expecting him to take short cuts and rush through it, but he never did. At the end, he told me that he had lost quite a bit of money on the job, but he had given me a price and he would honor it. Given the excellent work and the fact that he honored his commitment to finish the job, I paid him extra even though he never pushed me or insisted on it. With respect to the 1 star review by Ira D below, I can see how Ira might be unhappy. Given the excellent work Jose does at such a fair price, he is very busy. It did sometimes take several days to get a response form Jose or I had to send a follow up message. You can look up J&J Landscape on other sites and see his reviews. On the one I checked (ends in "tack"), he had 22 reviews and a rating of 5 stars.
