(Bakers often require payment up front for specialty items). I was given a pickup date. On that date, the owner asked to push pickup out one day, which was no problem for me. I followed up three different ways (call, text, Nextdoor app message) what time I'd be there, EVEN after he said "anytime you come will be fine". I showed up on schedule to find the "kitchen" in the bank of a bank bldg locked up tight. Owner went silent....dead silent. Then a couple of days later, he sends a text saying his "cheap phone wouldn't allow him into any apps) so no way to contact me. Strange though, because he had my phone number AND way to text. I asked that he return my $52.00, especially after I wasted an entire hour driving across town to pick up the items on top of that. This man kept my money and then, after the fact, started creating a story about some system requiring an invoice for my review prior to pymt, a deposit, etc. I had paid IN FULL IN ADVANCE. He never produced a product and, to date, has my money. I filed with PayPal so I hope to retrieve my funds, but BE WARNED. William Hunter (Will's Kitchen) on Patterson Avenue in Roanoke, VA is a scammer. A THIEF. He "barred" me from making future orders, lol. Why on earth would I order from him again? PS- He has since blamed his issues on cheap phones (again!), needing to buy the best ingredients instead of reliable communication, and is now using trademarks like Cinnabon in his product names (illegal)..trust NOTHING he says. UPDATE: LEAP Kitchen was his cooking source and they are a wonderful resource for entrepreneurs. He was so fortunate to have that. They did attempt to assist me by speaking with William, but he was still unwilling to issue a refund. This business is no longer affiliated with using LEAP facilities. William continues to threaten me for sharing my experience. Do not recommend.

The other day while I was looking over the DoorDash app to find a restaurant to order from, I found this one, unknown to me, by the name of "The Meltdown." It seemed to be a Virtual Brand. I looked up their address published in DoorDash and it led me to the Denny's on 3429 Orange Ave NE, in Roanoke, Virginia. I decided to take a risk and order from them, because it is only by taking a risk that great discoveries are made. So I looked over their menu and ordered the Giddy Up Melt, which was described as a slow-smoked brisket burnt ends, sharp white Cheddar, creamy BBQ sauce and pickles on grilled sourdough bread. I ordered this sandwich with a side of onion rings. When the order arrived, and I opened up the container where it came in; the sandwich looked small compared to the one in the photo of their website. The grilled sourdough bread was soaked in butter or some kind of grease, that made it very slimy. The tiny chunks of Brisket were literally burnt to the point of being crunchy, and after all that talk of melted cheese, it hardly had any, or they were melted down to oblivion. The onion rings looked good, but they were soggy and not crunchy. And many of the onions rings were made with the thin peal of the outside of the onion that can't be bitten into. I was so disappointed, that I didn't know what to do. It now occurs to me that I could of called to DoorDash and asked for a refund for the quality of food and the bad way it was cooked. But I decided instead to write this review to make the reader aware of what you'll be facing if you order from here. So you won't have to go through what I went through. So by ordering from the Melt Down you won't get a letdown.

But these are not ordinary burgers. They are savory handcrafted awesomeness of burgers, the creative design of the owner and Executive Chef Brandon, and his partner owner Jacob. Both have worked hard to bring us an amazing menu of very creative burgers to be enjoyed in a comfortable and historic environment inside the City Market Building. The success of any restaurant business is the result of the hard work and love that the owners have put into it. In this restaurant, I could tell just be seeing the very nice graphic designed menu, reading the wonderful variety of menu items, ordering one out of the many I liked, and seeing the work of art and tasting its final flavor. No words could ever do justice to the quality of the food served at this restaurant. A picture is worth a thousand words, and by looking at the pictures I took can get a better idea of what I'm talking about here. I decided to go and try this new restaurant out during the Roanoke Restaurant Week 2024 for lunch. I ordered the I'm So Bleu Burger with Fries and a bottle of water to drink. A friendly lady took down the order and had me sit down. I sat down at one of the tables located inside of the City Market building. It is a relaxed and comfortable environment where one can enjoy the dining experience. They brought my order to my table and it came in an aluminum tray. The bread was soft and fresh, as well as all of the ingredients written about on the menu were clearly there. With restaurants of this quality menu is that the City Market Building will attract people to the building and help it flourish. I totally recommend this restaurant to all those who live nearby or who are in the area visiting. I can assure you won't be disappointed and you will use eating here as an excuse to come again to Downtown Roanoke. I can say this restaurant has become one of my favorites and I look forward to returning to try a new item of the menu every time!

We are to expect 4 to 8 inches of combined snow and sleet, ice accumulation, and dangerous travel conditions with wind gusts up to 35 - 40 mph. After receiving the above information from the weathercasters of Channel 10 local news, I decided to go shopping for food, water, and essentials to weather the storm. Asking around, on the day before the storm would reach us, I was told that Walmart's shelves were almost all cleared out, and not to bother going there. My friends advised me to go to either Food Lion or Kroger. I decided to go to the Vinton Kroger, knowing by experience how well managed this Kroger is and how they do an excellent job of keeping their shelves stocked. When I arrived, their parking lot was pretty full, but still had some parking spaces available to park. As I parked and approached the entrance, their American flag flew high above under a beautiful blue sky with white clouds. Inside, I was able to walk around with my shopping cart and find all the essentials I needed to weather the storm. From frozen ready-made foods, easy to prepare, to bread and cold cuts, to even milk and water, that oftentimes are the first things to run out in supermarkets during inclement weather. I asked one of the employees for directions of where to find the little glass bottles of Starbucks Coffee and she immediately gave me the aile number. Another employee helped me reach the toilet paper that I wanted that was on a shelf too high for me to reach. They even had the cereal that I like that oftentimes even in good weather the other supermarkets run out. The clerk at the cashier's counter was very efficient checking out all my merchandise, and the bag packing attendant in quickly packaging all my item and nicely placing them back into my cart. In Vinton, they also don't charge you for the bags, which they do in Roanoke. As I was taking my groceries to my Lexus, cars stopped to allow me to cross over to the parking lot. I quickly placed all my items in the trunk of my Lexus and pushed the cart back to one of those cart stations in the middle of the parking lot. As I was leaving the parking lot I saw behind me how another car was paking in the parking space I had just left. I thought to myself how grateful I was to the management and staff of this Kroger in particular for being so efficient that allowed me to shop, like if nothing out of the ordinary was going on.
