While we opted not to explore the drink menu, we were eager to see what the kitchen had to offer. The menu itself is concise, focusing primarily on wings, sandwiches, and pizzas, supplemented by a few small appetizers. The culinary style is quite eclectic. They feature several unconventional toppings and flavor combinations that might seem a bit eccentric at first glance. The Culinary Experience I decided on a flatbread-style pizza topped with: Smoked chicken Pickles Peppadew-style peppers (which resembled small cherry tomatoes) A tangy, zesty sauce reminiscent of an enchilada base with an extra "zing." My wife opted for a "build-your-own" pizza featuring red onions, pepperoni, and bell peppers. Although she realized too late that she had forgotten to request light sauce, she noticed the oversight immediately upon the dish's arrival. Service Observations The service was a bit of a mixed bag. Our waitress was professional but remarkably brisk. She lacked the usual pleasantries or "small talk" one might expect, focusing instead on efficiency. While her haste felt a bit impersonal, I couldn't complain about her attentiveness--she was incredibly prompt at refilling my iced tea the moment my glass was empty. Make sure you bring your pocketbook this pizza brings a sting at the register.

Marco's Pizza is a counter-serve chain with a menu of specialty or custom pizzas for takeout or delivery, located in the popular Lake Drive Plaza in Vinton. Then last Friday, I had the urge to eat their pizza once more, opened their app in my cellphone, and noticed all the exciting unique features that their app had, such as the "light bake," if you like the crust to come out lighter and softer than the usual. The first thing I did was select from one of their deal offers: "$3 Off Any Specialty Pizza." Then I picked their "The Works" Specialty Pizza, medium size, with regular crust and light bake. It contained Pepperoni, ham, green peppers, Italian sausage, mushrooms, bacon, and onions. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a sense of the high-quality of their pizzas and ingredients. It was so easy and convenient, ordering it on their app for delivery. And not only did I get Marco's Rewards points for the order, but I also automatically got 30 points for $1 spent at the Fetch app. The pizza was delivered at the time promised by a very friendly and efficient driver by the name of Roxy. It was handled very well and was delivered out of a keep-warm special container in a quality box with Marco's Pizza logo and a professional photo of a pizza printed on the box. There are times like this one when you enjoy ordering out and eating in the comfort of your home. And that is precisely what I did. I opened the box saw those amazing hot slices filled with a generous portionof high-quality toppings. I placed a couple of slices on a plate, went and sat down in my comfortable recliner, and enjoyed eating the slices while watching my large screen Sony BRAVIA TV which stands for "Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture." I loved the taste and texture of their crust, and all of the ingredients on the pizza were so fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this pizza shop for there delicious pizzas and other high-quality items in their menu, easy ordering system from their app, and friendly and efficient customer service and delivery.

So one Friday evening that I happened to be in the neighborhood, I decided to go try it out. Located in the heart of the the Town of Vinton, Virginia, it has two large windows up front with a glass door in the middle. And above the glass door the colors of the Italian flag. As night was approaching the light coming out from the windows seemed to naturally attract one to the inside of the restaurant. Inside, on the right was a counter to order takeout orders and a cashier station. And next to this, a refrigerated disdisplay case with the desserts available. It was a clean, open space restaurant with tables and chairs in the middle and near a side wall and also some booths next to the other two walls. A host/server greeted me at the entrance with a welcoming smile and took me to one of the booths near the back wall, handed me a copy of the menu, and asked me what I wanted to drink. I asked a for an Iced sweet tea. The menu was black with white type and colorful food designsItIt hahad a nice variety of food items that I would happily come back again to order. Since this was primarily a Pizza restaurant, I ordered a Supreme individual pizza. While waiting I could sense this was a local style neighborhood restaurant. Many takeout orders were placed. Two families were eating at different tables. And before I left a group of older adults gathered together to drink, eat, and share a good time together with good conversation. My server provided excellent customer service. He brought me my pizza in a reasoble time, and came to check on me to see if I needed anything at the appropriate times. For dessert I ordered a Tiramisu. It came in a plastic case from the dessert display refrigerator up front. All thinhs considered: the relaxing ambiance, variety of items in the menu, the quality of the food, and the excellent customer service, I highly recommend this restaurant as a place to enjoy relaxing dining experience, while socializing with family and friends.

Yet the order was put together haphazardly, items were not described accurately on the menu, nor by the person taking the order, and food quality was mediocre. If someone is ordering a to go order over $25 like they INSIST -, it's downright stingy and mean spirited to not provide any napkins or silverware whatsoever. I understand Restaurants like to claim that they are struggling, but that's hardly a reason to be mean spirited and allow someone to spend over $30 in food and not put a single napkin into their delivery order. Let alone utensils with which to eat the food. That's just either lazy, stingy, greedy, or unthoughtful. The pita and hummus is hardly pita, whatever that giant baked dough mess was that got shoved into the bag, unsanitary without any proper protection - was bland, and fat to doughy and heavy to be proper pita bread. They don't have lemon for the seafood or shrimp, and the cocktail sauce is in little ketchup packets made mostly of chemical ingredients, no real food content and not healthy. And again with the stinginess, they provided two little tiny ketchup packets for 10 shrimp. So not enough even for the shrimp that you've ordered. It basically allowed me to dip for shrimp. Was told that "everything is made fresh" but I think that they're deceiving themselves that this is wholesome, edible food. The cannoli was soggy and inedible. We threw out half of it. The bread mess was bland and again, not proper pita bread, shrimp was fine but with no lemon or cocktail sauce, just bland fried shrimp. Nothing special. On top of that they had a seven dollar delivery fee despite the fact that they are five minutes away from where we were??!? In NY and Boston delivery upcharges are three dollars or five dollars, so seven dollars in Roanoke Virginia just feels again, unnecessary and greedy. So for approximately $25 worth of food, if you're also paying the driver, you're spending a $12 + upcharge for mediocre food with no utensils or napkins or proper condiments. Definitely do not recommend. Thank you.

As soon as I heard about it, I drove in my Lexus to go try it out.Their parking lot is in a narrow but long space on the right of the restaurant. At first I missed it and had to make a U turn and come back. But once I knew where it was I parked in the second parking space next to the restaurant. Their restaurant sign with their name and logo is painted on one of their large front windows in red and white colors. Inside, I found a clean, modern, space, with a casual decor and very welcoming atmosphere. A wall size, colorful painting made by one of their customers depicting life in a mountainous area contributes to the relaxed and friendly ambiance. A friendly and hospitable young lady, greeted me and had me take a seat at the table of my choice. She quickly took my drink order and since they had Pepsi products, I ordered a Pepsi. Their menu was very well designed and easy to read, with even a Lunch Specials section. Since I had come to try out their pizza, I ordered a House Salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a 12" Special Pizza. With pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, ground beef, onions and extra cheese. This pizza was sure to please. As I ate my salad, I admired the huge painting on the wall. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of their food. The salad had fresh ingredients and lots of graded cheese on top, and with the dressing tasted amazing. There is nothing like a good salad to complement a good pizza. When the pizza arrived, my friendly server place it on a pizza stand, which brought it at a distance where I could observe the freshness of both the baked pizza dough and its ingredients. The pizza was both made and cooked well. I placed the first slice on my plate and took my first bite. The dough tasted like a fresh baguette right out of the oven. And all the fresh ingredients with the extra cheese tasted amazingly delicious. The only thing it could have benefited from was a little more of the sauce. I started eating it with a fork and knife but then, since it was real New York-style pizza, I grabbed the slices and ate them with my hands, the way New York-style pizzas should be eaten to appreciate them better. For dessert I had a slice of their Limoncello Cake. It is said great things come in small sizes, and this was a perfect example. Simply delicious. I definitely recommend this place for its relaxing, casual, ambiance, amazing food, and a friendly customer service, that make you feel at home, very typical of the Italian culture.

From chain ones that have improved through the years like Domino's and ones that have gotten worst in quality and service like Papa John's. So today I decided to go visit and experience first hand the place, its food, and its service. For I've traveled far and in the least expected places, found the best of pizzas. Located in the Market Square East Shopping Center, off Orange Ave in Roanoke, Virginia, this Italian Restaurant has been opened for around 6 years under the ownership of Sam Shamaa who also owns the original one in Moneta which had been opened for 30 years when he took ownership around 8 years ago. Sam originally decided to expand with a second restaurant in this area because he had been manager of the Denny's across the street for several years, and was familiar with the area, and since his other restaurant in Moneta is more seasonal in nature. When I arrived I noticed that it had a large parking lot in front of the restaurant which was located in the left corner of the shopping center. The building structure was relatively modern and clean with the restaurant's name in large red letters high above the building. Once inside, I was greeted by a very warm and friendly lady by the name of Amy who ended being my server since I didn't see any other one around. Only the cook in the kitchen. After I was seated at the table of my choice, she handed me a copy of the menu, and took my drink order of a Coke. The menu was typical of an Italian restaurant, offering pizzas in the New York and Chicago styles, along with gourmet pastas, subs, salads, and calzones, among other items. Since they listed the Chicago style pizza as their specialty, I went ahead and ordered a Supreme, and their Fried Shrimp appetizer since I figured the pizza would take longer to cook. The fried shrimps were fresh, crispy, and delicious. I enjoyed eating them with the marinara sauce. When the pizza arrived, I found its appearance a bit strange. Now I've been to Chicago and have had the original Chicago style pizza as well as ones from Pizzeria UNO when it first opened in Boston. So I'm well aware of it. And I can clearly say that this is not the real thing, but simply a poor imitation attempt but nothing like the authentic one. Not the shape, not the depth, not the crust, not the sauce, and not the toppings that you could hardly see. I liked the taste of the crust, but found the sauce to be too thick, too acidic, too much, and too overwhelming. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the pizza. I was so disappointed because I loved the ambiance of the place and my server Amy was so nice and good-natured, but with my background in Italian food and in Chicago style pizza, I feel obliged to be honest and tell it like it is. I wish them luck, but think I won't be returning anytime soon.
