As close to NY pizza as you can get. Order at the counter. Pizza slices that need 2 plates to hold.

First time here. Ambiance..We walked in ordered.looks like pizza, smells like pizza.. Service.. quick.. Food...we had 3 sausage pizza slices. Was good but it needed alittle more pizza sauce on it. Talks need to be serviced more. Ours was dirty.

My best friend's family loves Benny's and loves to get their giant full-size pizzas in the huge box for family events. My husband loves pizza, it's his favorite food group (lol) and he likes to try it everywhere we go both in the USA and outside of it and do a review. It's our thing, so when he saw this spot while visiting family and hanging out downtown, we had to come over. It's been years since I've had Benny's but we walked in and ordered 1 slice for $5. They heated it up for about 5 minutes and he came out with a HUGE piece that took up two paper plates. A couple people walked by and commented on how much they loved their pizza while we were eating and filming so you know it's popular. We had plain cheese and it was very good - cheese was very gooey but it was well-cooked. I love the vibes inside with the stickers and items all over the walls and the guys behind the counter were super chill and friendly. They have a few small tables to eat outside or eat inside as well.

Benny maraconi's is a pizza by the slice establishment located in downtown Roanoke Virginia. Being downtown this is street parking only. My buddy and I was on a small Road trip and checking out the surrounding areas and wanted a quick lunch before hitting the road again. Pizza by the slice made sense. Upon walking in the interior is smaller but has some really fun and vibrant decor and vibe to it. You can order by the slice or get whole pizzas. I ordered a cheese slice and he got a slice of pepperoni. Slices were $5 and came out fast, hot and fresh. Now $5 seems a bit high for an individual slice. However these slices weee massive. Easily the size of 2-3 normal pizzas. New York style being real thin with plenty of flop. However cooked well enough to not have too much flop. You could still eat with one hand if your hand is big enough. Flavor of the pizza was really good and we both enjoyed our slice quite a bit. You never know what your gonna get in a gimmick New York style by the slice place. We've both been to New York before and had pizza and this pizza could pass as legit for sure. Overall a really cool place with a nice concept and was perfect for what we was wanting in a cool, tasty, friendly service and a quick lunch stop. Worth checking out if in the Roanoke area for sure.

The slice pizza was exactly what I was looking for. It was very big! I thought I might eat two, but one ended up being enough. I liked the thin crust. Husband and I ordered sausage pizzas. Each slice of pizza was so big that it came out on the length of two paper plates each. You order at the counter and they call out your order when it's ready. You seat yourself. There are a few tables and bar stool seating by the window at the front of the restaurant and on one side of the restaurant. The sliced sausages were ok, but I thought it'd be ground sausages. And I would've liked a few more as I like a lot of meat. But overall, I was happy with my slice and I would return if in the area again.

The service was good but the pizza was mediocre. It wasn't wow and I guess it tastes better with a drink or two since there are several bars in the area. Good for a quick stop, might try again in future see if I change my mind.

We stopped in here for a slice of pizza on a Thursday afternoon. It was a good price for such a big ol slice of pizza. We really liked it and I would recommend it

The owner is very warm, kind, and hospitable, and every time I've dined there I've felt right at home. I've received excellent service in a cozy environment and the drinks and food have been to par with my high expectations of a restaurant of this nature. However, I was a bit disappointed when I dined there this time. Unfortunately the owner wasn't feeling well so she appointment one of her best servers as Host in charge. When I arrived, since I showed up without a reservation, she greeted me by asking what I wanted, if to order for takeout. This was a bit insulting, since I was there to dine in, like always. I then requested to seat in the well lit dining room, in my usual table next to the window. She consented and took me there. Shortly after, a young lady server shows up and greets me. Not giving me enough time to study the menu, she asks what I wanted to drink and what I wanted to order for dinner. Without asking for her opinion, she starts telling me what she thinks I should order as appetizer. It was like she was trying to rush me. I don't know if it was her inexperience or lack of training, but I was beginning to feel uncomfortable and asked the Host to change my server and explained the reason why. My server replacement was completely the opposite. He was the epitome of customer service. Philip had good manners, was respectful, and didn't rush me, taking his time to make sure I had a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. The first thing he did was introduce himself as my new server. He then repeated my order that my previous server had taken to make sure it was right. I already had my Fried Calamari appetizer on the table. My house salad was with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. My Filet Mignon was to be cooked medium-rare and served with sautéed mushrooms, broccoli, and delicate new potatoes. During my meal, he made sure my Iced water glass was always full, and after my Filet was served and I had a chance of cutting it, he came by to make sure it was cooked appropriately, just like ordered. The Filet was cooked medium-rare, the broccoli was fresh, and the potatoes were delicious, but the mushrooms were not seasoned nor sautéed enough and were somewhat tasteless. For dessert, I had my favorite, the Brazilian Custard Pudding. As I was leaving my server opened the door for me and thanked me for dining there, while the Host stood inside without even having the courtesy to say goodbye. I hope the owner of the restaurant reads this review and takes action to see that her restaurant is run appropriately, and each of her customers is treated as they should.

From the moment we were seated, the service was noticeably poor and only continued to get worse as the night went on. To start, our server seemed completely disengaged. After taking our initial drink order, they disappeared for an extended period of time. When the drinks finally arrived, it was already a long wait--but what made it worse was that once they were empty, they stayed that way for well over 10 minutes. We sat there with empty glasses, trying to flag someone down, but our server was nowhere to be found. It felt like we were being completely ignored. We had also ordered soup and salad to come before our meal, which is pretty standard. However, those never showed up at all. Not late--just never. No explanation, no apology, nothing. Our entrées arrived, and we were left wondering what happened to the first part of our order. It's basic service to ensure courses come out correctly, and this was completely missed. Throughout the meal, the server would vanish for long stretches of time. Every time we needed something--refills, utensils, even just a quick check-in--it turned into a waiting game. Getting drink refills took forever, and by the time we finally got someone's attention, it felt like more of a hassle than it should ever be. A simple dining experience turned into constant frustration. Overall, the lack of attentiveness, poor timing, and complete absence of communication made this visit extremely disappointing. It honestly felt like we were an afterthought the entire time. Between the empty drinks, missing soup and salad, and the server disappearing repeatedly, this was far from an enjoyable experience. We are regulars at this restaurant and this by far is the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant we have been to ever! I only tipped something to be gracious but in reality I should have not tipped anything. Yet the order was put together haphazardly, items were not described accurately on the menu, nor by the person taking the order, and food quality was mediocre. If someone is ordering a to go order over $25 like they INSIST -, it's downright stingy and mean spirited to not provide any napkins or silverware whatsoever. I understand Restaurants like to claim that they are struggling, but that's hardly a reason to be mean spirited and allow someone to spend over $30 in food and not put a single napkin into their delivery order. Let alone utensils with which to eat the food. That's just either lazy, stingy, greedy, or unthoughtful. The pita and hummus is hardly pita, whatever that giant baked dough mess was that got shoved into the bag, unsanitary without any proper protection - was bland, and fat to doughy and heavy to be proper pita bread. They don't have lemon for the seafood or shrimp, and the cocktail sauce is in little ketchup packets made mostly of chemical ingredients, no real food content and not healthy. And again with the stinginess, they provided two little tiny ketchup packets for 10 shrimp. So not enough even for the shrimp that you've ordered. It basically allowed me to dip for shrimp. Was told that "everything is made fresh" but I think that they're deceiving themselves that this is wholesome, edible food. The cannoli was soggy and inedible. We threw out half of it. The bread mess was bland and again, not proper pita bread, shrimp was fine but with no lemon or cocktail sauce, just bland fried shrimp. Nothing special. On top of that they had a seven dollar delivery fee despite the fact that they are five minutes away from where we were??!? In NY and Boston delivery upcharges are three dollars or five dollars, so seven dollars in Roanoke Virginia just feels again, unnecessary and greedy. So for approximately $25 worth of food, if you're also paying the driver, you're spending a $12 + upcharge for mediocre food with no utensils or napkins or proper condiments. Definitely do not recommend. Thank you.
