Having my 3rd shoulder surgery was not fun, but Dr. Cammarata is the master surgeon!…read moreHis reputation preceded him and I was not surprised that he exceeded any expectations that I may have had. I would not hesitate to send any friend or family member to Dr. Cammarata. I'm currently in physical therapy at Emerge Ortho and can wholeheartedly recommend the facility in Arden, and especially my therapist, Malcolm. He pushes me to get maximum mobility and strength, without hurting me at all. I began asking specifically for my appointments to be with him a while back. Overall I'm incredibly grateful to this group for helping me get back to my career with a healthy shoulder. Much love and appreciation!!

Yesterday I sat in the lobby and watched the angry lady working at the front desk be completely rude to patients that had come in. Two that were clearly in a lot of pain and she was just outright rude to them. I thought she and one of the male patients were going to get into a fight when she took his payment and then refused to let him have his treatment because his ride could not be there until after the procedure. Go figure? I've seen her be rude to many people over the visits I've made there. I just keep my mouth shut and go in and pay my bill and ignore her but she's awful. I hope she doesn't see this and figure out who I am. The next time I go in, she might treat me terrible. Lol. Go somewhere else if you can. Especially if you're in pain or don't feel comfortable. Or if you need compassion. I think the doctors provide good service but it's not a place to go if you're needing. Any kind of friendliness, from my point of view.

Therapists/medical staff are great, but billing is very shady and/or incompetent. Stuck me with an…read moreunexpected bill of nearly $500. I reached out to Compass a few months ago after getting a referral from my doctor to help with some back pain issues. When I reached out to them, I let them know that a previous PT office I was referred to had initially told me Aetna would cover everything and I'd just be responsible for a $50 copay. The other physical therapist office let me know prior to my first appointment however that after running my insurance, my cost per appointment would be significantly higher and suggested I cancel and find somewhere Aetna would cover. Soon after, I reached out to Compass, let them know about this entire situation over email, and got confirmation that my copay would only be $50. I scheduled my first appointment and three subsequent ones - paying $50 each time. A couple of weeks later I get a call from the staff who runs insurance/billing letting me know there was some miscommunication or mistake and Aetna would not in fact be covering my previous appointments and the amount owed would be substantially higher. I told them I'd like to cancel all future appointments then, given that it was way more expensive. I then got a call from the therapist I worked with (Eric, who was great) asking why I had missed my last appointment. I guess the billing staff I talked to didn't actually delete my appointments in their calendar. He said he'd look into it and see what's going on. A few weeks later, I get a surprise bill in the mail for $490 for the 4 appointments I had. A call with Compass confirmed that yes, I do owe them the full amount. I was told it would be $50 per appointment when I scheduled the appointments (and was encouraged to schedule in advance to make sure I got a spot in their schedule) then was slapped with a bill of roughly $172.50 per appointment. I guess I could only recommend this place if you're 100% sure your insurance will cover it, but even then you better get it in writing or they'll probably try and screw you over like they did to me. In a situation like this, I'd expect the practice to waive the cost as it was their fault in not doing their due diligence or communicating the cost at the time of the appointments being scheduled.

I have several medications I take and needed to renew or just transfer them. One of the medications is for acid reflux. BCBS needs a 'prior authorization' before they will cover this medication. She refused to fill out the form, and did not even ask for the doctor's name to get my records to verify that I do have reflux. It turns out that one of her 'interests' is doing endoscopic tests. This office expressed absolutely no concern for the position I have been put in because I can not get this medicine until I find another doctor and they get my records from my doctor that ordered the test. It would probably be as simple as a phone call and a couple of faxes. If you are moving here from another state, be aware that this office is more concerned with paperwork than your health. You will need to make all the requests for your records yourself because they (in my experience anyway) will not do the work themselves. No one bothered to take my blood pressure during this visit. I thought that was strange. Again, I felt there was not much concern for my overall health. I have had to change doctors several times in the past couple of decades due to corporate moves and I have never been treated so suspiciously. None of my maintenance medications are controlled substances. This was a bad experience and a total waste of time and money.
