    The Runners Mechanic

Miriam at the Runners Mechanic is truly a miracle worker. I…read morehave been hearing rave reviews about her for years from locals who see her for running analysis, for physical therapy and for dry needling. Although I trust my friends, I had hoped I would never have to visit her. Unfortunately I hurt my arm during Crossfit and was unable to bend my arm and was in a lot of pain. It was obvious that it wasn't broken so I took advice and made an appointment with The Runners Mechanic. When I first called Miriam, she didn't have any openings for like two weeks but after telling her my issue, someone cancelled the next day and I was able to get in there. I did an hour and a half appointment with her. We first talked about the issue and the pain and she began by doing some site-specific massage. She worked on my shoulder and neck and upper arm. Next she did dry needling. I have been hearing about this for years and although I have tried acupuncture in the past, I was horrified. Lucky for me, Miriam was patient and talked me through the process and put no pressure on me to try it. I was in a lot of pain so was willing to try something new. The dry needling process is somewhat painful but is a quick sharp pain that doesn't stick around. And honestly it gives the body a serious release. She spent at least 45 minutes doing this. When I left, I felt as though her prices were reasonable and she was extremely personable and understanding. It was obvious that she is very knowledgable and has tons of experience. Though I left that day feeling no better, I woke up the next morning and my pain was almost completely gone and I had more movement in my arm. The following day I felt almost 100% and had mostly full flexibility. I was super amazed and after hearing amazing reviews about her for years, I am so grateful to pass on the review. I highly recommend her, she's fantastic.

I would not hesitate to send any friend or family member to Dr. Cammarata. I'm currently in physical therapy at Emerge Ortho and can wholeheartedly recommend the facility in Arden, and especially my therapist, Malcolm. He pushes me to get maximum mobility and strength, without hurting me at all. I began asking specifically for my appointments to be with him a while back. Overall I'm incredibly grateful to this group for helping me get back to my career with a healthy shoulder. Much love and appreciation!!

Yesterday I sat in the lobby and watched the angry lady working at the front desk be completely rude to patients that had come in. Two that were clearly in a lot of pain and she was just outright rude to them. I thought she and one of the male patients were going to get into a fight when she took his payment and then refused to let him have his treatment because his ride could not be there until after the procedure. Go figure? I've seen her be rude to many people over the visits I've made there. I just keep my mouth shut and go in and pay my bill and ignore her but she's awful. I hope she doesn't see this and figure out who I am. The next time I go in, she might treat me terrible. Lol. Go somewhere else if you can. Especially if you're in pain or don't feel comfortable. Or if you need compassion. I think the doctors provide good service but it's not a place to go if you're needing. Any kind of friendliness, from my point of view.

I showed up for that appointment and was told that I had to reschedule with Dr. Rhoton, as I had had a previous surgery on my back with Rhoton. Wasn't happy and they re-scheduled me for an appt on July 10th. The day before my appt with Dr. Rhoton they call me and tell me my appt is cancelled because Dr. Rhoton has an emergency surgery and that he is no longer scheduling "new patients". What??? I'm not a new patient! Your office was the one that told me I had to see Dr. Rhoton. I'm astonished at the ineptness of this practice. No one gives a straight answer, communication is awful. This place is scary and I am going to have to get a referral to another doctor in Charlotte (1 1/2 hour drive away). What is going on CSNC?

I can't live like this. When I say I can't stand for 10-20 min I don't mean than I can get relief from sitting. I can't sit for more than 10 min on a good day. I have to lay down with 2 thick pillows in between my knees. The pain is unbearable. The last time I had back surgery I was the same weight and I lost 2x what the surgeon told me to started the diet in the hospital and stuck to it. I'd rather take my chances with an infection than live like this every single day! It is literally like being in hell. I can't do laundry and I love doing laundry. My husband lost his job because he has to help me with everything. How can we care for our children and fur babies?? I NEED HELP! My God have mercy. after hurricane only and we had to relocate to a different house my husband had to move everything by himself as everyone else was dealing with their own issues from the hurricane. I just wonder if anyone else knows what it's like to not be able to do anything and want so desperately to do so much?? It's so hard because I've always been an overachiever. I always worked so hard. I always loved to decorate and cook and spend time with my family. What is the point in living like this? This is not an exaggeration on the contrary. How am I supposed to live with this on top of trigeminal neuralgia all throughout the right side of my face it bothers me every day and fibromyalgia that hurts so bad it makes me feel so tired. I could handle those things if I could just have my back fixed. But they would not help me. He said I didn't need to have surgery. I said what am I supposed to do? He had no answer other than to lose weight. I barely eat anything. It's hard to when you hurt so bad. I don't know why I can't manage to lose much weight but it's hard when you can't move and it's also hard when you have to take medication for nerve pain and it causes you to retain fluid. I feel like I've been set up to fail and the surgeon just walks away while I'm helpless and it's gotten so much worse. The pain hurt so bad both of my legs and even hurts in my knees, but it's not my knees is nerve pain. I can tell if it doesn't stop it never stops. I tripped over my left leg because I think I'm lifting it and I'm not. But it doesn't matter how can person who's taking an oath to take care of people that are sick walk away and turn their back on someone who is completely helpless. My pain management can't provide the amount of pain medication that it would take to make this stop enough so I could do things. I don't expect to ever be out of pain, but I do think that the medical community could do something. Otherwise, why did they become a doctor? God forbid they have to actually try to figure out something or a way to do something that's unconventional or difficult. It's absolutely pathetic to leave a person this way to allow a family to have no income when there has to be a surgeon who's perfectly capable of doing something. .
