I didn't check the hours before stopping in here, and I think that they might have been preparing to close up... but I didn't realize that until after I'd ordered. Despite that, the employees were friendly, and the coffee was unexpectedly wonderful. I ordered a plain latte and, unlike the lattes I've had elsewhere that use the milk as a crutch, the coffee flavor really shined through and used the creamy milk as a complement. I'm only visiting Wamego, but I'm a little jealous that they have such a good coffee shop, when all you can find in Wichita are the big coffee chains or the main "local go to" that doesn't know how to roast their coffee AKA dirty sock water. Maybe Paramour could open up a shop in Wichita? Also, I like the name. It sort of describes my relationship with coffee... just... in the most general sense of course. read more

Stopped on my way out to Lawrence, had just a latte, no flavor. Coffee has its own unique flavor (what I look for with a "plain" latte) Picked up a breakfast sandwich, made fresh on an English muffin, it was great! Salty bacon, gooey cheese and crisp bread. You MUST visit this gem of coffee place! I'm serious! If you ever make your way through the quaint little town of Wamego, Kansas, make sure you stop by. Their coffee is so amazing! I've always ordered "fancy" drinks at other coffee shops but not here! There's no reason to because the simple, unadulterated coffee here stands on its own! Try the Jimbo special and make sure you have an amazing maple bacon scone! I stopped here every morning for a year before I moved out of town. The owner (Jimbo) and the other baristas are awesome to chat with. They make a great cup of coffee and an awesome breakfast sandwich! Don't be afraid to ask. All the reviews were correct, I judge where I stop by yelp reviews and they were spot on for this location! The staff was extremely engaging and energetic, we had a long conversation about traveling as I was just "stopping in from NY". Other guests in the store joined in when we were taking about military service: a very welcoming, not intimidating, atmosphere. The breakfast sandwich, chai tea and scone were also all amazing. This place is great! Worth the walk to the end of Main and around the corner. Jim made a great pour over with beans he selected based on our tastes. Took home some beans and have been loving them every day. We don't live in Wamego, but we will be asking Jim to ship us coffee! Who would have guessed that some of the greatest coffee in the world would be found in Wamego, KS?! Well, it's true. Coffee is amazing and the breakfast sandwiches are "half the price of McDonald's and twice as good" if I'm quoting Jim correctly. :) I'm in town every few months and it is one of the things I look forward to most. Truly good people to chat with and get educated about coffee. I have become a coffee snob and am in the process of converting my Kansas City friends! Paramour has the welcoming and happy atmosphere you expect from a small town coffee shop. Love these people! read more

A great local brew shop with a friendly local feel, not something you find at the commercial shops. They have a good selection of serve yourself brews, and a good choice of brews they can whip up for you. They have delicious breakfast sandwiches that are made fresh whie you wait, and if you are looking for a present for a java nut, they have a nice selction of coffees, beans and ground, mugs, grinders and other java related things. Give them a try, oh, and the self serve is stout for me, but you wont feel awkward asking to get a little water added. read more
