I went to see "little Mermaid" down at Paramount theatre in on Niagara IDaho Falls with a couple of friends not too long ago. It was my very 1st time in this particular theatre. The isles in movie theater was well lite. The Movie picture & sound was great. The handicap bathroom stall was a pretty good size considering how old this movie theater building was. I want to be very clear before everyone reads this review and casts stones at me: this place is not a 5-sar establishment. The service is not 5-star quality. The parking is a nightmare. However, the idea is AMAZING and that's why I love it. The Paramount's theaters are not great, sometimes there's issue with the movies, the screens are small, and it can get crowded sometimes. BUT, this theater usually gets movies that are still being played in other parts of the country at full price. People like Fat Cats better, but Fat Cats really sucks for the price you pay. The screens are just as small as the Paramount's, it's just as crowded, and the theaters are a joke. You only pay $2 for a matinee at the Paramount. $2!!!! It's the equivalent of a dollar theater, but I've found that they keep it cleaner than most dollar theaters that I have been to and they tend to get the films a little quicker than most dollar theaters do. It's a great price for a quick flick. I love this place! read more

I normally would give this theater a 4 or 5 star rating, but after being insulted and talked down to by one of their managers, I feel I'm being nice giving them 2 stars. We were loyal customers who came in to watch movies about once a week. Now I'm not sure when or if I'll ever want to go back. I brought the incident to the attention of the higher up manager, and after he spoke with his employee, it seemed to me like he wasn't interested in making things right. Their loss. Okay, so to call the Paramount a dollar theater is really a misnomer. Tickets are generally $2.50 each, but considering how inexpensive concessions are, going all out at this theater won't require you to take out a second mortgage on your home. I've taken my three kids countless times to the Paramount. The theaters are big and clean and the young high school staff has been nothing but helpful and friendly each time we've gone. Chances are I'll need to duck out a couple times per movie for potty breaks, but that has nothing to do with the establishment and everything to do with the size of my childrens' bladders (the bathrooms are also clean and well maintained). The movies are on the tail-end of their theater run, so if you don't see them here, you'll see them at Hastings in no time. But still, if there are films you're dying to see on the big screen with little cost, the Paramount is the place to go. UPDATE: I took my kids this past weekend, and we were in one of the smaller theaters for the first time. The front was filled with old seating that had been ripped out, and it just felt grittier than the large theater. Also, the movie started about 15 minutes late which can be difficult when you're there with young, impatient children. I was a little disappointed... read more

We were in town for thanksgiving and were treated so great by the owner. We loved the remodeled theatre. And the owner was so kind. He saw that we were passing popcorn out to several kids so he generously brought us extra to make sure everyone had plenty. What great service! read more

A couple weeks ago, I took my parents here for their 50th anniversary(I know cheap date). We decided we wanted a lot of popcorn so all 3 of us got our own extra large containers full of popcorn. We also got drinks and pepperoni pizzas for all 3 of us. My mother is in a wheel-chair and Ryan politely asked her if he could carry her popcorn and drink for her. Ryan led us to our theater and showed us where the wheel-chair accessible seat was. He was extremely nice as he smiled all throughout helping us and laughed at my mom's cheesy jokes. About 10 minutes later Trad brought us our pizzas and was smiling the whole time too! After our movie Ryan and Trad both asked us how the movie was. I was extremely impressed by how these 2 treated us so I had to ask for their names to thank them. I am sure the rest of the employees are the same way. It's sort of musty smelling. Why do all dollar theaters smell like that? I don't understand it. But it was a fine place. Took the nieces and watched whatever popular Pixar movie was out at the time. I like that there is a theater in town that doesn't cost a ton of money to go watch a movie. It is a chance to have some family fun time without costing a ton. it is older and worn down. Even though it is inexpensive, you should still take care of your establishment. The other thing that frustrated me is something that the theater has no control over. We went on Saturday to have a fun family day and I was amazed at how many people take their young children that cry throughout the movies and can't sit still for the whole thing. I missed so much of the movie because of all the noise. I guess maybe it's just me, but I don't think you should take kids to the movies until they are old enough to actually appreciate it. I mean, a baby still sitting in her carrier, do you really think they understand anything? What's the point?? read more

One of the last "dollar" theater relics I've seen. I'm impressed with how quickly movies make it here off the main Edwards Cinema. I'm a fan of the old fashioned atmosphere, comfy recliner seats and more affordable concessions. Tuesday nights are discount and a great deal. I prefer this theater over the Centre twin downtown because of the larger selection, cheaper cost, and later showings. Going to the movies is now affordable! I'll wait and see movies here rather than pay so much to see it opening day elsewhere. read more

They really need a waiting area, there were several people waiting to see a movie that was supposed to start in 20 minutes and there was no where to wait, they told us we could wait by the doors of the theatre or sit down during the last part of the movie, but they changed their minds and told us that we had to wait until they cleaned the theatre. They should really stagger their show-times a little more, instead of starting the movie late. read more

My wife and I have enjoyed a few movies here and you get him what you pay for. It's become better over the last few months and $2.50 is a good price to pay for a movie ticket especially for movies you enjoyed in the full price theater and want to see again before it hits DVD. Brandon Lott, the manager of this theatre, was presented with two tickets that a customer had won at a company party (tickets with no expiration date), and he would not accept them, going against everything any effective business manager should know as basic knowledge in running a business, taking care of its customers. Not only that, he ripped the tickets up in front of the customers. Brandon has demonstrated how a manager should NEVER EVER treat a customer. Thank you, Brandon, for doing this heartless, careless act of hatred to your customers; it has saved other potential customers thousands and thousands of dollars after reading this review and word of mouth getting out of this absolutely ridiculous display. You are the face of your business, and you just kissed lots of potential profits down the drain. I hope you apologize for this terrible thing you have done in an official letter and compensate the customers accordingly. I recently received a Date Night Pass (which includes 2 adult 2d tickets, a large popcorn and 2 - 16oz drinks) from my work. On the pass it states that its valid at both The Paramount Theater and the Center Twin. It seems though that I'll never actually be able to use it at the Centre Theater for a new movie since they always state "Passes will not be accepted." If you're going to sell or handout free passes for the paramount and not the centre theater then just say that its only for the paramount theater because it is misleading and makes you think it's more valuable than it is. So it looks like I can only use it on a movie that's already out on DVD. Thanks but no thanks. read more

We are old...fixed income. Edwards works for that occasional "event", but paying $25 for two (3-d-Star Wars) and another $10 for popcorn/drinks is ridiculous. We tried out the Paramount after we had missed The Martian on the big screen. For $10, we saw the movie and had popcorn and drink (and the popcorn actually had (aka) butter on it... And yes, the theater was small and the seats were older (but then so are we), but the sound was good (and since we both are hearing impaired, that alone was a major plus) and we now know we can see at least two movies for the price of one at the stadium theater! read more
