If you have to choose between the maze or the forest, choose the forest! While the maze is very fun to get lost in with friends, the forest is consistently amazing every year and only gets better every year! Jared, Deric, Greg and Dallen were amazing with management as well as the ins and outs of the maze and forest. I wish this was full time. I was always off track in the fall but heard about the maze come winter semester and all the grandeur that was supposed to be the Straw Maze. This year I was in Rexburg for the fall and had to check it out. Wow. Major let down. I didn't even waste my time with the forest because the maze was ridiculous. Employees would jump out to scare at best, nothing more. After about the 5th person it gets old. Second point I would like make known. Those poor employees are not paid even minimum wage. Some friends of mine worked the maze and after receiving their pay were only paid about $3/hr. They claim to pay based on performance but when even some of the best actors they have don't even get minimum wage it makes the $9 entry fee seem worthless and the company greedy. read more

Nice maze, got lost for a solid hour. They found the glove I dropped, too! I didn't stick around for the haunted portion but the plague doctor was entertaining, really gave it energy! If you've got kids just get there when they open to avoid the spooks. Highly recommend! read more

Ghastly waste of time and several outright lies. One, it takes 60 minutes just to get on the truck to get to the start, and you think "oh goodie here we go," only to find ANOTHER line waiting for you at the forest, a line never warned about. That one took 38 minutes all by itself. That creates the huge mistake of pouring fuel on customer frustration, getting them in a bad mood before they even enter the haunt itself. In the very least, WARN the crowd at the ticket booth that there's a whole other line awaiting them. But what you really have is a design flaw. Two, that line has goddawful crowd control. One time the line only moved 6 feet in an entire circuit of the truck from the line to maze and back again. Too few people being let through Three, they said "path is longer this year." Complete misrepresentation. The path is exactly the same length, only this year they make you walk from the end back to the parking lot (whereas last year you got a ride). This walk has not other scares, nothing entertaining of any kind. Just walk 500 more feet, analogous to saying "Our hamburger is bigger" because you put a jumbo bun on a micro beef-patty. Disingenuous phony. Four, the staff said "24 minutes" to walk thru. Complete lie, I clocked it at 16. Five, this place has the all too typical Dr. Slaughter Greed. "If Dr S can charge $10, so can we!" Except Dr S actually takes 25 min, whereas yours is done in a blink. This is a $6 haunt at best. But you got greedy. I will not be back next year. I have worked for the Strawmaze for 3 years in a row and I cannot say enough good things about the maze, the owners and the family atmosphere they have cultivated. I have been through the different mazes from year to year and I always end up getting lost regardless of knowing the preferred route! A perfect event for families, friends and dates. On the weekends you are guaranteed a haunted experience to make the toughest guys let out a little squeak or two. Family atmosphere where you can laugh at friends when they get startled before even going into the haunted maze or the forest.
