I have always enjoyed going to the movies. I will catch almost any type of movie out there. I like comfortable chairs with high backs, hot popcorn and Coke products. Then let me watch my movie in peace. I will clean up after myself and leave quietly. This was a decent movie theater, what surprised me was that prices were higher than my local suburban movie theater. What intrigued me was the popcorn bucket you bought once a year and brought back for refills. Less garbage and cheaper deal, I wish they had that in Chicago. Old theater that needs a renovation. They don't have recliner seats and no Imax and most of the food is not available to buy and they don't sell alcohol to buy and sometimes they don't have the newest movies playing and you can't pick and reserve your own seat. read more

Came here with the family for a movie date. Definitely not the most up to date theater, but it definitely works! Staff was friendly and helpful and the place was clean. Popcorn was fresh and that's a biggie!! I would definitely come back. read more

Tickets are crazy expensive a drink is ten bucks and the cups we had already paid for RECENTLY were over twenty bucks and they wouldn't let us use them anymore for no reason. The movie we were watching which was mean girls which has only been out for a few days was already glitchy. The seating was uncomfortable and it was very dirty and my awards membership doesn't even do anything but send me annoying notifications about new things you can buy at the theaters that are like over twenty bucks. read more

Not a bad movie theater experience at all. The theater that I was in was clean, the seats were comfortable and the bathrooms were very tidy. Some aspects were slightly outdated like the decor and signage in my opinion. And, of course, the snacks and drinks were expensive. But, if you don't expect that from a movie theater, then you probably just came out from the rock you've been living under. read more

The manager contacted me personally after my negative review. He told me they were hiring new cleaning staff (I still don't understand why the theater staff is unable to clean) and that he was working to make the theater a destination that people would choose. Despite his efforts my return trip was as bad as any other. They did pull the weeds out of the walls, but nowhere else. The bathrooms were filthy with trash strewn about. It was nice to go back to the movies during this Covid-19 time. The prices seem higher than before but maybe I'm wrong on that one. My friend and I went yesterday August 30th 2020, it was well organized as far as getting popcorn, drinks and tickets at the food counter. A young man who seemed new but very nice and professional helped us. It was I'm assuming the manager that was picking apart how he was doing his job and that he shouldn't have used the popcorn bags that said refills on them. He was talking to this young man in a demeaning way where he as the manager he should of checked all of that out before hand. I just feel employee's should be taught and shown how to do their job correctly in a nicer manner and not so demeaning and condescending. Great Theatre, Clean, Modern and lots of theatre's so plenty of showtimes. They have the Big D Theatre with special seats and bigger.

The theater is clean and never crowded when we go there for our date night. Coming from another state we think these prices are fabulous! The seats are comfortable (they do not recline) and the bag of popcorn is always overflowing. read more

The two-stars are not for quality in terms of video and sound. The technical specifications of this place is great. The films are presented in DLP format, with digital sound. That's great. The bad news is that the outside along the metal rails and stair way is a giant petri dish. One gets used to reserved seating and zero in-house advertising. This place has about 20-30 minutes of advertising that repeats itself and plays the same crap over and over before the 10 trailers start. I'm down for lots of trailers but not for some BS commercials and local advertising. We saw Transformers 4 here, which sucked, and then Maleficent, which rocked. The presentation was stellar but that's about it. Oh, and you do get annoying ass crying children that are not ejected from the showing. Lame! read more

I'm from Utah where our theatres have amazing food to choose from. Larry Miller did it right with Megaplex theatres. Very disappointed. read more

Not only did they allow people to buy tickets without id but when me and my wife went to the showing my wife forgetting her ID me having mine as well as showing proof of our marriage they would not allow her to enter the theater stating that she did not appear old enough nor was there enough proof she was who she says she was at least they know how to give quick refunds read more

At first, I was a little intimidated by the Big D's size, but once we got into it, it was obvious why people become comfortable with the Big D. The impressive stature of the Big D left me "ooo"-ing and "ahhh"-ing with every angle change. I left satisfied. read more

As far as theaters go this one was mediocre. The theater itself seems older like maybe early nineties and the theaters themselves are smaller than what I am used to but it still does the trick. All concession prices are still the same as beautiful movie houses. The Edwards in Idaho falls is much nicer and the seat there are more comfortable. read more

Go between 4 and 5:30 and pay only $5 any day for a movie. This is a nice break from the expensive rates other theaters charge. Also I recommend getting the popcorn bucket and save money when you get popcorn every visit. read more

the place is generally dirty. I take my kid to the $2 summer movie deal, which is great. I have experienced better service and the on-shift manager clearly doesn't listen to his patrons. Every week, like clockwork, parents bring their kids in and every week we are forced to try and carry 2 drinks, 2 popcorns, and my kid all while trying to.navigate in the dark because the lights aren't on. Brought it to the managers attention on a few occasions. He didn't listen, so maybe by not going there anymore he will finally hear what myself and other parents have said. read more

The movies ALWAYS start 5 minutes late. The workers are rude and once I move to a town with a different theater I will never go to another carmike. I asked if the cashier had change for 100 and she said no but a coworker said he did. She went on and on that even when she does have change she always says no and only gave me half of the popcorn the container would hold. read more

As always movies are hella expensive. But Carmike has added the new 3D theatre, yes there is a surcharge, $ 2 something. But leather seats, IMAX type screening, green glow lighting, off entry restrooms....it's pretty sweet! Granted refreshments are damn near the price of the tickets.....hey its commerce. The addition of the freestyle coke machines was the worst idea ever. Two machines to serve all your patrons is a bad idea...either get rid of the machines and have the consessions fill soda or get more freestyle machines. A close second for the most stupid idea is the self serve butter for your popcorn. For one, you are only able to butter the top layer and two, everyone else is trying to butter their popcorn as well. Call me lazy, say what you will, but for $25 spent at the consessions for two, I had to do half of the work. read more

Just tried to take my kids to see "The Avengers." Paid over $35 for three tickets, one popcorn and a drink. They seemed to have sold more tickets for the movie than they had seats to sit in. Very upsetting. Not planning on going back to that theater and will definately be passing the word about this frustrating experience. read more

I like this movie theater, very comfortable seats, great popcorn and a controlled temperature. It's a little farther from our house but worth the drive. My only complaint would be the fact that you must print off any coupons unlike Regal who gives them to you with the ticket. read more

I like to go to the Carmike Cinemas. They are clean and you get free refills on popcorn. It's bigger then the old theatre so it fits more people. The chairs are also more comfy. read more

Excellent theater love it. As like everything else now a days popcorn and soda are expensive but it's worth it.
