Thank you Eastern Idaho State Fair for bringing back a sense of normalcy…read more I'm new here & this was my first time at the state fair in Blackfoot. It was so fun to see the crowds, the rides, and all the food vendors. After the crazy year we've had with the pandemic, being at the fair with lots of other people brought back a little bit of normalcy. My favorite part of any fair is the food. We ate everything! A turkey leg, corndogs, cheese on a stick, fresh corn in a cup, tons of lemonade and most importantly, the potato ice cream. Don't worry, no potatoes were harmed in the making of this ice cream. It's essentially vanilla ice cream rolled in cocoa powder then topped with whipped cream and cookies crumbles. So good! Parking sucks and there were a lot of residents in the area who would let you pay them to park in their driveway. Thankfully, I got lucky and found a spot after being willing to drive in circles for awhile. It starts getting extra crowded at night right before the main entertainment event. Throughout the day, there were other fun shows like a hypnotist and arm wrestling competitions. I had a lot of fun & hope to be back next year!
