My husband and I were searching for an alternative to conventional insulation materials. After settling on sheep's wool we started looking for a knowledgeable contractor. We landed on Joe because from the very start he was open to a new material -- no discouraging comments like, "Why would you do that?" or, "I've never heard of that!" (as if that settled the question). Instead of pushing us to give up our "strange" notions, and embrace fiberglass or closed cell spray foam, he indicated a real willingness to explore the subject with us, and he did. While we identified the source he then picked up the ball and called the company, and determined exactly how much we'd need for the job. His pricing was very fair too. Within a few weeks of receiving the materials his crew expertly installed the material in our basement and in a couple of attic eaves (not easy spaces to work in!). His guys were polite and exceptionally neat.
I should also mention that of all the contractors we talked to Joe was the ONLY one to recommend a door separating our cold basement from our Bilco doors (we said yes!). This was a brilliant idea and has made a considerable difference, along with the wool, in keeping cold air out.
Admittedly, there were a few delays along the way. We have learned that in most construction-related matters this happens, and you have to learn to go with the flow a bit; when you do, things tend to work out.
