As new homeowners, my husband and I really didn't know what to look for when actually LOOKING at insulation before buying our house - and boy, did we pay for it this (our 1st) winter. Regular insulation was used under our home and what we now see is a lot of it looks old, some newly added by the previous homeowner, and some downright decrepit. With the freezing blowing wind (or who are you kidding, even wind at 50 degrees) coming from under our home, our 1st floor was freezing. The drafts coming in from all angles was absolutely insane, and I worried about my poor little puppy as he slept in his crate on that very cold floor (we kept him warm of course). That said, we were referred to Rocket and, just after a handful of hours, I can already feel a difference in our home. On top of that, they were beyond professional, courteous, cleaned up every inch of any mess they made - and worked quickly and efficiently. I can't wait to now do my attic as well! We also worked with Mary Anne beforehand who came to measure our home and give us a quote - she's been so easy to work with, always answering any of my questions quickly, and just all in all if you want a good (great) company for your insulation needs (or waterproofing - or anything else they do) I would absolutely recommend Rocket. They sealed all the high hats and breaches. They filled it with blown cellulose to R49. Which has settled now after a few months. Not the R49. They came back 5 times to redo items that were not properly done. The AC problem is not what we were hoping for. Better somewhat. They recommended a larger fan to exhaust bathroom moisture. Not resolved. We spent over 15g . Not really happy with the outcome. We will have to hire an engineering company to access whatever is necessary to fix this problem.

Everything was about, "you've got to sign by tomorrow or you'll lose this great price". It wasn't a great price. According to him It was supposed to cost $6800 but if I had less than a certain income then it miraculously dropped to $3500 to do various insulations around the house, about half a day's work. The way the proposal was written it sounded very involved, but it was essentially insulating the attic and caulking around the house. That's a ton of money for that work. He then called me constantly, pushing for me to sign. When I finally told him I don't react well to these kind of deadlines he said "have a nice day" and hung up. This company is preying on people who don't know pricing and fall for their sales pitch.
