Just wonderful from the first meeting to the last clean up. I had the attic insulated, a new gas heat pump and air conditioner and a new sliding glass door. Financing was easy with a low rate. They were there every step of the way, getting my old furnace to work until i can get the new one installed. They worked very clean and were very polite. About a year ago I had Green Team LI come to my house after getting the PSEG flyer with their name in the mail. I got the same one in the mail today which inspired me to write a review since I am not the only homeowner with a bad experience. Two guys came here. OZ and someone else. They di measuring in every room and they did a whole house leak test to determine how well the house was insulated. When they were finished OZ made a date and time that he would come back here with their full report on my house. He never showed up. I waited assuming he would at least send me the report but that never happened either. I don't wany anyone else going through this. read more

It's been a few years since I had work done by Green Team. Windows, insulation, and Ac/heat pump install. From day 1 it was a horrible experience, including but not limited to, poor communication, sub par work, and downright offensive and inappropriate workers/sub contractors. So now a few years later, with me repairing the work that was done as I come by the poor workmanship I have an AC problem. I go up to inspect and find the line side to the unit in the attic has both hot legs cut through most of the conductors to the 60 amp breaker in the unit. 3 strands left un cut on one, and 4 on the other. Wires were stripped with dikes and no one checked anyone's work. The more I look at the more I find wrong, I wish I could get all of my money back, and have someone competent to re install. Right now I need to say totally unimpressed. Multi thousand dollars unit broke after two months. On 2/3/22 it was determined by technician that a faulty Bosch circuit board was the fault. Continuous calls to Green Team was excuse after excuse. A new employee finally took interest in this on 4/13. Today I learned this part was FINALLY ordered. The heat has been running on on electric emergency since 2/2. More to follow.... And BTW...a hole placed above the electric panel in my living room has still not been patched, as promised, since before Christmas. read more

Joe did a fantastic job fixing my units. He was professional and knowledgeable about my concerns.

The heat-pump system was not installed correctly by Green Team LI. In addition to them installing a 150 watt electric panel when the contract stated that a 200 watt electric panel would be installed, Green Team LI installed different condensers than they said they would and the condensers run at a variable speed causing my electric bills to triple. Moreover, they installed the drip lines to run along my homes foundation causing additional problems. Please contact the Attorney General's office to file a complaint so that they can initiate a class action lawsuit against Green Team LI. I have already filed a complaint but more need to file in order for the Attorney General to begin the class action process. I do not recommend having a heat-pump system installed by Green Team LI. read more

Green team LI sent Brett over to my house to fix my AC unit knew exactly what he was doing was very kind professional and he knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it in a reasonable amount of time did not take all day and he was very kind and responsible of my property. If anybody needs someone to come out to their home I would definitely ask for Brett because he was really great. read more

The work hadn't been scheduled or started when we canceled. I've asked for them to return the down payment, but am still waiting. Not a fan. Got hooked up with them via "Sealed". Clearly GT LI subbed the work out to a lesser company and thought it could be passed off without mentioning to me the homeowner. This lesser company did a horrible job. Didn't even have the correct tools had to borrow mine. Made a huge mess. I went back and forth with sealed b/c the sub company didn't completely the work nor do a good job on what they did do. Eventually Sealed sent another company called "Green Home Logic" those guys did a great job. read more

TL:DR - Do not hire them. Do not work with Oz. Do not work with Jay. There is a lot to mention and I might edit this and add everything, but I figured I'd leave this review to save someone else the trouble I've dealt with. The salesman and project manager told they could insulate an area that other companies could not. Green Team said they finished the job and even showed us pictures. The job was never done, and I found this out by accident about a year later. The owner of the company, Jay, said they couldn't do what the salesman and project manager promised they could. He offered another option or a refund of $800. I asked him for an itemized invoice so I could see what I was charged for that part, and he wouldn't show me it. A company that checks their work, TRC, told me that Jays other option was not the proper way to insulate that area. They are currently thinking of how to handle this now that TRC is involved. Essentially, they lied to us to get the job, lied about completing the job, and now are giving me the run around to fix this issue. We have several leaks into our house. 2 of the 3 outdoor units they installed were leaking and another line that goes through the basement was leaking. They came 4 times to fix it and couldn't get it fixed each time. TRC told me the lines should be sloped up to the house and Green Team refuses to admit this or offer a proper fix. After 4 repair visits, I still have one leak. During TRC's visit, we found a whole other area that was not insulated. Green Team moved our decades old insulation around and covered everything with that silver reflective sheets. TRC came and opened two parts, one was half filled with old insulation, the other wasn't insulated at all. These are the main issues. The project manager, Oz, didn't check anything at all. There were several other issues, like them not delivering the more expensive units that were in the contract. They drilled a hole into the wrong spot and cut an electrical line and they didn't tell me. I heard an employee curse so I stepped outside and saw them trying to splice it together (a fire hazard). One indoor unit was very slanted and I told this to Oz and he said they are supposed to be. So, I told him in that case, he should fix the other 5. He then fix the one slanted unit. There's more, maybe I'll update. Bottom line is they lied and are not willing to correct these issues. Jay will try to blame his employees and say, they lied to me to and no longer work for us. First, Oz still works for them and two, if he knew these employees were bad and lied, then Jay should have come to me and say I need to double check the work they did. Instead, I discovered it by accident. Update: Thank you for your response. I'd like the readers to notice he didn't dispute anything I mentioned because it is all true. Let me tell you how they are trying to fix one of the issues. The crawl space insulation, that Oz told me they could do before they were hired, that their installation team told me they finished, that they were paid for, that I caught them lying about accidentally a year later. Jay offered me $800 but refused to show me any kind of itemized invoice (on a 45k job). Jay also suggested filling the crawl space with fiberglass insulation and assured me they would be no moisture or other issues. PSEG and another insulation company told that was "dumb" and "not going to work". So either PSEG and this other company are lying (doubtful), Jay (the owner of Green Team) doesn't know how to properly do the job, or Jay is lying so he can get me to sign off on it and now it's my problem. We signed a contract for installation of a 4 ton and 3 ton Multi unit condensers which will cost $46K. The GreenTeam advertised their Mitsubishi Hyper Heat H2i plus condenser to us as a win-win situation where it is low cost to homeowners and the cost of installation will be coming from the Clean Heat program $46K through rebates. They claimed this is new technology which would provide sufficient heat with energy save technology. However, this company failed to deliver many things in the homeowner's best interest. Before we sign the contract, everything sounded smooth and free of obstacles. The project manager assured us we don't have anything to worry and they will take care of us. Whenever one company claims that, just be careful. 1)The sale rep (Fernando Chavez) showed us the brochure for Mitsubishi Hyper Heat H2i Condenser, but on date of the installation, the company delivered 2 different condensers. 1 Mitsubishi Hyper Heat H2i plus and the 2nd one was Mitsubishi Trane Condenser. When confronted with the company of why they installing 2 different units instead of both being Mitsubishi Hyper Heat H2i plus as shown in the brochure, they claimed that these 2 units are identical(one made for export) and it meets the Clean Heat program for their rebates, it allows them to install it without regard to homeowners concern that they are delivering units different than what they were advertising to the homeowners. When you deal with this company, I will advise to have the contract written in very specific manner before signing because they will try to bend it. Once you signed, it is almost impossible to have them send you the amended contract with units being installed. Our request for months to get the updated contract send over was kept getting bounce back and forth between Fernando and the project manager James Hayes. 2)This company also failed to file for the proper permits to conduct work on upgrades electrical breaker box and the installing over 36K BTU units with the DOB. The project manager kept saying you don't really "need" to apply for permit, even tho it is required on the Department of Building. Up until today, we still did not get any remedy for permits while the management (Al Lopez) guaranteed that they will submit the permit on our behalf without cost. 3)Since the day the contract was signed till the installation date, the communication between the delivering crews through the project manager to install crews was almost non-existence. The company included in the price of 46K, the removing of 4 window units and make "reasonable effort" to find a match sidings for us. When the installation started, we asked when will the sidings will be replaced, we were thrown back and forth from the project manager to the install team leader regarding the status of siding replacement. The company DID NOT make any "reasonable effort" to find a siding for us. The house was left holes from removing the prior AC wall units for a month and gone through days of rains before they finally got someone to close it up with the siding we provided. All in all, this was never a win-win situation, false advertisement, fail to submit proper permits, pushing responsibilities from 1 department to another and lack of communication. This company will charge the NYC max amount they can profit, but lack the integrity to do it right by the homeowners. Homeowners should think twice before doing business with this company, either HVAC or Solar. 4)The sale rep (Fernando Chavez) reassured us before the installation that the ConEd bill will not be extremely high and that it will only be $400ish top. Our bill for 02/2022 was a whopping $688.00. This company will do whatever it takes to make u sign the contract and leave you there to go bankrupt. If this gets unresolve, our next stop will be BBB and Department of Consumer Affairs. read more

Green Team "upgraded "my heat and central air systems to the tune of 31000 plus another almost 20 grand in rebates. after the installation I had no heat in my living and dining rooms. i refused to sign that the job was complete and they came back and gave me some bull about the vents in my rooms and that it would cost me another 2500 to fix. after much haggling I agreed since this was now my only form of heat. they were here Minday 11/27 . Today I called for service because my vents are blowing cold air and I'm told they don't have 24 hour service . Unacceptable stick with the oil companies. They come out in the middle of the night. AC/Heat equipment over 2moths ago, never finished installation, called many times,unable to speak to anyone other then receptionist,who said she will tell manager of team and someone will call back, never happened. Now stuck with equipment in 5 rooms and outdoor machine which is quite big, none of which works and GreenTeam has made no attempt to get them to work. No calls, emails, etc and management has not reached out since day one. Unprofessionsal to say the least, would never had done this, unreliable etc. Trying to find out what my recourse can be as the equipment will be an eyesore and will decrease the value of my property and what was guaranteed never happen. Came to my home for a "Home Energy Audit". There was no testing done. There was no blower door done (even though the company told me they still do it). There was no testing done on my boiler (that was still kicking on every so often). A sales rep walked around my home, took some measurements, checked my attic and left. A few days later he returned to my home with a quote that was THOUSANDS more compared to other competition. I have a notice on the PSEG website that this company did an energy audit. AVOID! Overpriced! This company provided an energy assessment of my home, as part of PSEG's Green Home program. The purpose was to identify repairs to save energy use. The written estimate they provided insulate my attic was DOUBLE what I ended up paying. A salesman from the Green Team recently cold called me and said the company is a "Premiere Partner" of PSEG, offering a hint of legitimacy. Green Team LI is part of an energy rebate program. Green Team charges inflated prices for home energy improvements, which are then paid by a government program. The Green Home program is subsidized, meaning the price gouging it offers is paid by taxpayers...you and me. Green Team cheats customers and the government, in the name of the environment. We hired Green Team LI to insulate a recently purchased home and add a heat pump system for heat & AC. They did the job on time, on budget and their one year service to ensure the system is operating properly all met or exceeded our expectations. There is a learning curve to run the system as efficiently as possible. The office staff - Jill & Heather - couldn't be more helpful. Their resource guy, James is also very responsive. I have done extensive research before undertaking my new heat pump system and weatherization project. I received a few quotes from various contractors that were approved by NYSERDA, which sponsored the loan for my project. Green Team LI's quotes were most comprehensive as they followed through most of my requests. Unfortunately, due to unpredictable winter weather and Covit situation, scheduling work with subs was challenging but in the end they came through with installation successfully, submitted all required paperwork necessary. Their admin staff is extremely professional and pleasant to work with. Green Team came out to do a home energy audit, and I decided to do some follow-on work. The rim joist sealing wasn't done properly the first time, it shrank away from the joists. However they did send someone out to fix it. I'm much less happy with the blown-in cellulose insulation. Months after the installation, I still get a strong smell of cellulose whenever the air handler kicks on. According to Green Team, this is because my attic is poorly ventilated. They're a home performance contractor and not once did this come up previously, nor did anyone say that I should expect the insulation to smell. Now I need to hire a roofing contractor to improve the attic ventilation. Had I known this would be the result, I would have done that work first. Also, the communication was consistently poor, I would often have to follow up multiple times to get a response to my questions. Would not recommend. read more

I dont usually write reviews but I feel compelled to write one and let everyone know how horrible this company is. I contacted Green Team LI sometime around September 2022 to see about having some dense packing and air sealing done on my house to make it more "energy efficient". The work was done in late November 2022, I received a call from someone in Jauary 2023 asking if we were happy with the work that was done. I explained that we were still feeling drafts in the house and the house was colder now than it was prior to having the work done. He advised me someone would be contacting me within a few days to discuss it. I waited about 3 weeks before contacting my project manager and explained what was going on. They eventually determined there were a few spots that needed additional insulation. I have also had some siding fall off my house from the work. I keep calling and being told someone will be getting back to you soon but they never do. I wish I would have read the reviews about this company before pulling the trigger and spending over $10,000 to have this work done that has been more problems than solutions. read more
