Green Home Logic - Screws

Green Home Logic

Just recently had Green Home Logic perform a spray-in insulation process for my home. Although I…read morehave not yet felt the effects of the insulation, I was very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work performed by the crew. They were very thorough and did an amazing clean up job! Looking forward to a more energy efficient home and comfort during future winter seasons.

I did a really deep dive before hiring them... comparing every ConEd approved contractor to see who had the best reviews, BBB ratings, etc and GHL had the highest marks everywhere. I spoke with Geoff initially, who is very helpful with getting us set in the right direction and he squeezed us in for an energy audit in a reasonable amount of time. Got the energy audit done with Jon, which was really interesting and gave me a full picture of the limitations of my home, but then also the places where we could make vast improvements. Jon is great by the way and took a bunch of time with us to answer our questions (we had a lot). They ended up doing blown in fiberglass insulation in the crawlspace below the roof. They scheduled this in a timely fashion, showed up right on time, finished quickly and cleaned up to our tenant's satisfaction. The installers were very polite, helpful and professional. Since I wasn't about to squeeze in that tiny crawlspace, they took plenty of photos of the work to let me know how it looked. Based on some rough estimates from my smart thermostat, we now run our boiler 25% less than before insulation. Keep in mind, that's just with insulating the crawlspace. If you're able to do your walls too, I'd assume these numbers could go even higher, but we couldn't. After rebates from ConEd and the IRA it virtually cost us nothing. As long as the rebates are in place, I'll likely bring them back every year to insulate something else. It's really a no brainer, especially with this company which is run like the Navy.

Atticare - Our wallington NJ team

Atticare

(95 reviews)

Heads up -- this is a detailed and honest review…read more I reached out to Atticare after PSE&G completed a home energy assessment on my hundred‑plus‑year‑old home. The assessment wasn't bad, but they did recommend re‑insulating my attic due to the age of the existing insulation. When I contacted Atticare for an estimate, I learned they partner directly with PSE&G on home energy‑efficiency projects, which immediately made the process smoother. Stephen (Inspection & Sales) - Stephen arrived exactly at the scheduled time and was friendly from the moment he walked in. He inspected my attic, measured the square footage, and walked me through all available insulation options. No upselling...just available options. Based on our conversation about my high winter heating bills, he also suggested that my outer walls likely needed insulation. Before giving me any pricing, he made sure I understood that Atticare would secure the best possible PSE&G rebate. They ultimately obtained a sizable rebate (free money!) and a 0% loan for 72 months billed as part of my monthly utilities bill, which allowed me to insulate all three floors of outer walls in addition to the attic. Nick & Crew (Attic Insulation) - Nick and his team also arrived right on time. He explained the scope of work clearly and determined the most efficient way to complete it. His crew worked quickly and had the entire attic insulated in under a day. Victor & Crew (Outer Wall Insulation) - Like Stephen and Nick, Victor and his team were punctual and professional. Because my home's exterior is stucco, he explained the indoor insulation process in detail. His team moved furniture away from the outer walls, covered everything with plastic sheeting, and got to work. I will note that dust mitigation could be improved for walls and furnishings -- not a dealbreaker, but tightening that up would elevate the experience even further. The outer wall insulation work took a bit longer than expected due to the number of holes that needed to be drilled, patched, and painted, but the team handled it diligently. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the services provided and am genuinely looking forward to seeing a decrease in my heating and cooling bills. Not only would I recommend Atticare -- I already have.

It was a complete mess, had signs of rodents, and something was leaking through to our bedroom ceiling below Bob was an absolute delight. In a couple days, he came and took a look, assured me it could be cleaned out, sealed to prevent rodents and energy loss, and even though they don't typically do wall work, could put a temporary seal in place A couples day later, the team was here. In under 3 hours, the space looked completely restored. I could even use it for additional storage space now if I wanted too. So in case it wasn't clear, I would absolutely recommend Atticare NJ and would use them again. The professionalism, timeliness, and attention detail are just a few of the reasons

We have worked on three projects now with Kevin, Navin & their expert crew…read more First project involved retrofit exterior wall insulation using intello & dense packed cellulose. They worked quickly & cleanly to pack in this eco friendly AND VERY QUIET thermal barrier. During road construction & new water main project the noise of back hoe and jackhammers was seriously reduced inside. Great work. We also hired the crew to blow in loose cellulose (same material different application in our roof loft adding additional R value at that major point of heat loss. Finally, we recently brought the crew back for soundproofing project between our apt & the garden rental - their "emergency soundproofing" really help ease tensions with our otherwise beloved neighbors and give us all a bit more privacy. One thing I HIGHLY SUGGEST - is listen to Kevin & Navin - if they make recommendations to change / alter the plan - it's going to be based on experience and good instincts. They are always reasonable for this quality and they look at the big picture and want to make sure you are happy with the final result for your project. Thanks guys! 100% recommend

Once work began, Navin and the crew were wonderful to work with - they were respectful of us and of the space, efficient, and as tidy as possible given the nature of the work. Regarding the work itself, we had cellulose insulation blown in and it has made an extraordinary difference. After multiple years, we are finally comfortable in our apartment during the cold months. Though it wasn't the objective of the project, we also hear much less street noise thanks to the insulation, which is a nice benefit. If you are considering adding additional insulation to your apartment or home, I strongly recommend Kevin, Navin, and their crew.

It is rare to find a contractor that combines professionalism, responsiveness, technical expertise, and outstanding customer service as well as this company does. From the very beginning, John demonstrated an exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction. After visiting our home to assess the project, he delivered a detailed proposal in less than 12 hours. More importantly, he took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions during the site visit and continued to provide guidance afterward, even making himself available for a phone call outside normal business hours. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, John carefully listened to our concerns and customized the project to meet our home's specific needs. His dedication and attention to detail gave us complete confidence in moving forward. Once the project was awarded, the office staff continued to impress us. They expertly guided us through the process of obtaining the Whole Home Energy Solutions rebate and financing offered through our utility company. Every email and phone call was answered promptly, and they consistently kept us informed, ensuring the project remained on schedule and stress-free. The installation itself was equally impressive. Jamal and his team were on-site throughout the project and consistently went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of the work met the highest standards. Jamal patiently answered my many questions and took the time to explain each phase of the process in detail. His professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to quality workmanship were evident. Part of the project also involved Shawn and his team, who upheld the same exceptional standards. Shawn was an absolute gentleman, and his team's professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail further reinforced the culture of excellence that clearly exists throughout the company. What impressed us most was the consistency of the experience. From the initial consultation to project completion, every member of the Home Insulation Experts team demonstrated integrity, responsiveness, expertise, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. It is clear that this company takes great pride in both its work and its customers. We give Home Insulation Experts our highest possible recommendation without hesitation. If you are considering an insulation project, you can feel confident that you are hiring a company that truly delivers on its promises and goes above and beyond at every stage. We look forward to working with them again in the future and will certainly consider them for HVAC services as well.

I had work done by Home Insulation Experts just before Summer of 2023. The sales pitch by John was great. He explained exactly how he was going to try to improve my cape cod style house's insulation, specifically in the attic area. Here is the scope of work, word for word from the paid invoice: "Make an opening in the attic peak/ceiling, Air seal and blow in 790 sq/f of R49 cellulose insulation in the peak floor and slopes (once done close the opening with sheet rock and rough spackle only, no paint). Install 410 sq/f of R13 faced fiberglass batt insulation on the 4 crawl space knee walls (2 we will need to make openings). Drill holes into the 4 crawl space floors and blow in 400 sq/f cellulose insulation, once done seal the holes with wood plugs. Install a 2X3 frame in both sliding crawl spaces doors and fix inside 2" foam board insulation." After the work was done there was ABSOLUTELY NO NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT in the Summer or the Winter. I decided to give the insulation idea another shot, but this time I went with another contractor. The new contractor I started working with in early May 2024, when he began the job, explained to me that the knees walls were not sealed and that no cellulose had been blown into the crawl space floors (basically he told me that almost all the work that was done by Home Insulation Experts was providing no value). The insulation was basically sitting on top of the floor in the crawl spaces which provided no insulation help. He also showed me that 3 of my AC ducts were completely disconnected, which was something I suspected occurred while they were doing the job, but wasn't able to prove until the crawl spaces were re-opened. The contractor who just performed the work for me before the Summer of 2024, and did the job the right way by sealing the knee walls and drilling and spraying in cellulose below the floor board cost about the same out of pocket for me (About $4000) as home insulation experts BUT THIS TIME THE IMPROVEMENTS WERE INCREDIBLE. My AC no longer struggles to keep up with the rising temperatures (as proven during the recent heat wave this June). This was something that was a constant source of stress. Also, based on my smart meter usage, my energy usage (based on the same temperatures last year vs. this year as measured so far this summer vs. last summer) are down 25% during the mid 90 degree temperatures. Basically I did an apples to apples comparison based on temperature. Last thing I want to mention. I did reach out to John to see if he could do the right thing and at least compensate me for the work that I was contracted with him for not getting done, but he basically said this is off the table. He said "I will come and fix the job." My response was "You didn't do it right the first time, so why would I just repeat that experience again." He wanted me to drop my current contractor and let him fix the issues instead. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE CHECK THE WORK WHEN IT WAS DONE LAST SUMMER? I saw that as an insincere gesture after I had caught his company in a lie (To John's defense, he never showed up again so he wouldn't know if the job was done right or wrong). I hope this helps anyone looking to do a similar project. My suggestion is, hire a company where the person making promises (be it the sales person or owner) shows up when the real work begins. The owner of the recent company I used was actively involved and serious about quality. Make sure you make this a priority.
