We looked at pictures of the menu on Yelp and thought the options looked good. Turns out that is an old menu from previous owners. The menu is limited. Either a beef or pork sandwich and about a dozen Asian dishes. We opted for the sandwiches in both beef and pork. We were pleasantly surprised. They were good sized sandwiches and had great flavor. Service was great. Price was likely okay for this area.

This is a cute little café that doubles as a small convenience store. The café serves coffees, and sandwiches. They used to serve breakfast but has discontinued that for now. There is a small private parking lot in front of the café, but most of them are reserved for businesses in the strip mall that the café is co-located. They have coolers full of drinks, chips and random items such as bleach, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry shop, and paper cups. The place also looks like it is a pick-up spot for dry cleaning. Talk about your one-stop shopping. They have bar seating along the wall, in the front of the store and a few tables and chairs on the opposite side. The seating is very limited. There is music playing throughout the café. They had some Stevie Wonder playing while I was there. They have a wide selection of sandwiches. I was in an exotic mood, so I decided to go with the Thanksgiving Morning Sandwich. It is a one-person operation, so it took a little time for me to get my food. I would say about 15 minutes. The woman working there was extremely friendly though. I got a drink from the cooler and a bag of chips to go with my sandwich. The sandwich looked small at first glance, but was filling, fresh and delicious. It was packed with flavor. I really liked it. This little hole-in-the-wall café that you will find in a little duck-off, has some awesome food and top-notch service. I really enjoyed my meal here. I highly recommend checking this place out.

I've tried the Chinese pork burger 肉夹馍 and the box lunch 盒饭 and they are both excellent! I especially loved the box lunch, you get to sample a lot of different authentic Chinese food for only $12.99! I'm definitely goin back for more. The service is wonderful, the owners are very friendly! And the ambiance is very relaxing:) try them out!

Incredible cute little cafe! Smell of delicious food hit as soon as I walked in. They have a variety of different snacks and a beverage fridge. I got the #6 and it was delicious, wish I got 2 sandwiches. Will definitely be back.

I have no doubt in my mind why Paramount Cafe has 245 reviews and 5 solid stars. Well, there's several reasons. 1. The owner is one of the most welcoming, caring, and sweet individuals you'll ever meet. 2. The food is fresh and made with love. 3. It's pretty darn convenient. Especially if you live in the Paramount Apartments that sit atop the Paramount cafe. Or even if you're passing by in Pentagon City. They have a few dedicated parking spaces out front for the store, and it was a quick easy delicious meal. From the very moment I walked through the door, the owner of the cafe was treating me like family. "Hey there, how are you doing? What can I do for you? Are you here to have a sandwich?" I have to assume that her sandwiches are what's really bringing in people from far and wide. Sure there's a drink fridge with a variety of different bottles and canned beverages. Sure there's a mish mosh of common household goods like aluminum foil, plastic wrap, canned goods etc. I'd be willing to bet that her biggest revenue stream is from these loaded hearty sandwiches. They're just about 12-15 on the menu. She also does gyro sandwiches too. And right behind the counter there is a little conveyor belt oven that she uses to whip up a pretty darn tasty sandwich. She's an honest business owner (completely fine with me), the competition from the Whole Foods that opened a year ago down the street has definitely taken a big bite out of her business. But if you trust me at all, and I know there's a few of you out there that do, the sandwich that I got at Paramount Cafe stands on a different level than the super giant down the street. It's truly made with love. Is the bacon cooked perfectly? No. Is the bread artisan? No. Is the turkey handcarved fresh right there? No. I can't exactly tell you why, but like I said, trust me; it does. I ended up getting the Roasted Turkey BLT. She first roasts the turkey meat and puts it on a very sizable piece of marble rye. Second she makes sure I want the default horseradish sauce as the base. I opt for mayo, but get horseradish on the side. She then hand cuts avocado, piles on lettuce tomato and bacon, and throws it in a panini press. The result is a SOLID sandwich that I'd be happy to serve in my home. She tells me I can pay later and not to worry, just enjoy my sandwich and relax. She then comes to check-in JUST at the perfect time to make sure that everything is too my liking. "Do I need any more horseradish sauce?" I tried it, its delicious, but "No, I'm good for now." It just goes to show that Customer Service can be everything. From start to finish I felt cared for, cared about, and taken care of. Just an absolutely pleasant experience. Food gets a 4 stars. Customer Service gets 10 stars. Overall: 5 stars.

Nearly hidden on the ground floor and Bank of America side of the Paramount Apartment building is a true gem of a mom and pop convenience store. (More of the latter than a Cafe - but it serves dutifully as both.) As you walk in through a narrow seating area near the front door, your senses likely will be stimulated by the appealing aroma of fresh Expresso being brewed or the wafting, toasty notes of a grilled panini sandwich. Operated by a family - not a corporation - this small den of delights, aka snacks, notions, drinks, and sundries, is a repository for all the little things you might have forgotten at the big grocery store (or on your vacation trip). From popcorn and chips to ice cream and candy bars, seltzer to soap, and single serve headache remedies to Ben and Jerry's ice cream, this small store seems to stock a little bit of everything. Freshly made delicious sandwiches, beer, wine, and soft drinks fill the bill for folks in the apartment complex above the store and those in the hotel right around the corner. The list of what they stock is figuratively endless. Love the service, friendliness, and congeniality of Mia and Dave.

Two words that set this place apart from most other places you'll find in the area: customer service. I stopped in and was a bit taken aback as it was nothing like I expected. It's located under an apartment building is like a little shop that happens to also be a cafe where you can buy coffees, teas, and small eats, like sandwiches, etc. They have alcohol, bottled beverages, random snacks, and lots of other random finds. I opted for lunch and got the veggie mozarella sandwich, per Kim's suggestion. I also got an iced tea. Kim was phenomenal from start to finish. She helped me decide which vegetarian option was the best. Within a few minutes, instead of handing me the sandwich at the counter, she walked the dish to my table and insisted on doing so. After I was finished, she then made sure that everything was nothing but delicious. I requested that she pour my leftover tea into my reusable water bottle I had to not waste it, and she had no issues with this. Customer service wins the five stars at this location. Food is about 4 stars. Interior could use some love, but the service is the star of this place.

Was really excited to check this place out since it had five stars for a quick lunch while at a conference at the Crystal City Marriott. It was definitely a neat shop, with lots of fun drinks and necessities. The woman behind the counter seemed nice. We ordered sandwiches. It was fine, but definitely nothing to write home about.

This is an incredible and absolutely delicious hole-in-the-wall shop. The shop has an unassuming exterior and interior, but the sandwiches and gyros are a hidden treasure. Additionally, the owner is wonderful and very kind. She takes the effort to talk and to take care of all the customers who come through. The food itself was phenomenal. I got the pastrami sandwich that was delectably juicy with an explosion of flavor. My girlfriend ended up getting the lamb gyro that was just delicious, plain and simple. The servings were generous, and I came out stuffed! This shop is one of those rare mom-and-pop shops that is definitely worth the support and the visit! I would definitely make it out to Crystal City again just to get another sandwich or gyro! read more

Absolutely top-rate mom-and-pop family cafe-store-restaurant. The warm lady who runs it is always friendly and happy to help - did you just move in and need a kitchen towel? Did you forget your toiletries kit on you flight in - and need some shampoo? Are you hungry - would you like one of the best turkey club sandwiches in the area? Maybe you just want a tea or hot chocolate on a nice, soft chair, where a friendly bartender-like ear (the sweet grandmother version) is available, with a relaxing chat and even advice to make you feel at home included? Please come support this family's cafe & store as the big box chain stores and residential communities crowd in around them.... all of us need to support places with character and warmth like this where we can. read more

Doesn't matter when I come here I always have great service. Not only the owner but the staff is super accommodating. Try the sandwiches very delicious with quite a variety. You can even call in your order. If you live close by she things in the store to tide you over. Great small business. read more

This place is awesome. I've worked in Arlington for 20 years and have eaten at every halfway decent restaurant in the County. I found this place searching Yelp for something new, and definitely got lucky this time. Apparently this cafe has been around for over 10 years, but is under new ownership in 2015. This is a simple cafe/deli with a small retail area. The store is very clean and the employees are super friendly. I had their Napoli sandwich and it was perfect. It had high quality meats, fresh veggies, and just the right amount of condiments. My wife had a turkey wrap and she loved it. I'll definitely be back here sooner rather than later. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE the customer service here. If the owners could put their customer service in a bottle and ship it to all the businesses in the world, it would make the world a better place. They really go above and beyond. There's nothing like seeing warm smiling faces in a neighborhood cafe. I got the iced caramel macchiato which was delicious and very sweet and caramel-y. I also got a plain bagel with cream cheese which was pretty basic. read more

Decent cafe but the best owner, this is why I feel sad writing anything less than a 5 star. I think I ordered the wrong thing and it's not a reflection of the store owner. I came in and got a turkey wrap without the avocado and with ranch dressing. I think it was the ranch I did not like, as the brand being used is not personally my favorite. I should have tried one of the other hot sandwiches. I will say 5/5 for service but 3/5 for what I personally tried. read more

I've been in the Arlington area for almost 6yrs and just finally found this little gem of a deli. The sandwiches, excellent sandwiches that are made very well. Customer service makes you feel like you stopped by your grandmother's house for lunch. I'm just a few minutes waiting for my sandwich, I felt a comfort that you can only find in a local small business. It's heartbreaking to see such a great place with so little business because of the COVID-19. Let's pray these places can survive the wait. Meanwhile, I'll be back as often as I can read more

It's kind of hidden in the Bank of America/Paramount apartments but it's totally worth it. The last that runs the store does everything on her own and is so sweet. read more

Mom and pop convenient store just like all the others in Crystal City. I got a #9, Tuna Love, and it was gross. I didn't have the heart to tell the manager. Customer service was great and I liked my hot chocolate, but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Wrap was stale and tuna was weird. What's up with all these 5 star reviews?!! read more

This review is for breakfast and coffee. House coffee was on the dark end, but good. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagel could have used more toasting, but overall it was a decent breakfast sandwich. It was cheap for this area, 3.85 for the sandwich, 1.50 for the coffee. The golden 5 star reviews seem to be for the lunch, so I'll have to come back to try it, but I probably wouldn't go out of the way for the breakfast. read more

TL;DR: SUPPORT THIS PLACE. FOOD IS TASTY AND THE OWNER IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM OF A HUMAN BEING. I was here a month ago for a work trip. My first afternoon, I was in a rough spot mentally, and I didn't want to eat at my expensive hotel restaurant. I saw Paramount Cafe on iPhones maps, but when I got there I couldn't see it. I saw the Paramount apartment building, but no cafe. Then this lady is walking by me and asks if I'm looking for something. I told her and she said, "Oh, come on in," and walks to a door on the other side of the apartment building entrance. She starts to unlock the door and it hits me: she's opening the restaurant for me! I saw the sign on the door with the cafe's hours and they'd closed over and hour ago! I started to protest that I didn't want to make her open everything back up, but she wouldn't have it! We talked for the next 10 mins as she made my sandwich and it became clearly very quickly that the owner is a kind-hearted, open-minded, wise person. I felt 10x better after talking to her, and the sandwich was bomb too! I can't recommend this place enough. I hope they're doing okay through the COVID bullshit. Take care of them if you can- they'll take care of you. read more

We can't say enough amazing things about this place. The sandwiches are delicious. My husband gets the pastrami and I get the turkey, bacon, and avocado BLT. They have a great selection of drinks and chips...and some grocery items. Most importantly, Ms. Kim (owner), is the kindest and the most lovely human. She is attentive and makes the effort to get to know you. read more

The sandwiches and paninis are really good and done with love. It's a great lifesaver when you want something quick and easy but that's delicious. I was staying at the Crystal Gateway Marriott and was looking for a convenient place to grab an early dinner to take back to the room. I found the reviews for this place and decided to give it a shot. The walk was super quick and easy - just walk across 15th Street and go to the Bank of America parking lot. You'll see the "Open" sign. I got there ten minutes before closing. The lady that owns the store was very pleasant. I made an offhanded comment about showing up and the last minute, and she said she would have reopened the shop even if I'd shown up after closing. Sure enough, as I was leaving and she was locking up, someone was hurrying across the parking lot. She gladly welcomed him in. I got the Napolo (#3) sandwich. It was every bit as delicious as the reviews indicate. I grabbed some chips and a drink to go with it. So far, this little shop has been the highlight of my trip. I plan on going back at least one more time before I leave. read more

This cute Cafe/convenience store is tucked away in a little road past the bank. Use Bank of America and Paramount Apartments as a marker for the street you need to turn into. So why the five stars? I love the fact that this is a small business run by an exceptionally friendly woman AND the coffee is fantastic! She is hospitable and warm, and reminds me of how great service CAN be. Seriously, the treatment we received was Ritz worthy or maybe even better! The first day I went I ordered the mozzarella sandwich. The sandwich had a nice thick slice of mozzarella, avacado slices, and creamy pesto. I may swap out the bread, but for less than $7 bucks the price is unbeatable. I went back again to order the breakfast sandwich, and that was also good but not as gourmet as the sandwich. Hands down my favorite was the White Mocha and incredible service. After we left she thanked us for visiting. This shows how much they value their customers. I will be returning with my coworkers for breakfast and lunch! P.S. they don't open until 10 AM so you will have to wait for your caffeine fix or just get it later in the day. read more

I love this place! The sandwiches are unique and excellent, and a lot of care is given in to making each one. There are healthy sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches, and it's got a home personal feel. This place is worth going out of the way for, even just for a sandwich. read more

Love this little cafe/convenience store. You can tell the owner really cares about her business and her customers, as you're always greeted with a smile and hello no matter how busy it is. This place has a little something of everything for everyone, serving a variety of high quality packaged bakery goods, salty snacks, beverages, deli sandwiches, or pantry staples I'm sure you'll find something to satisfy any craving. read more

Live close by and saw a 5 star cafe in the neighborhood. Was pretty excited to visit. The food is pretty nice though it's priced very high. The service is nice and sweet. But they messed up the order. It's more a convenience store than a cafe so not sure the 5 star is fully suited to this place. P.S gyro comes asap others take a while, quite a while. read more

Crystal City is a weird place. There, I've said it. It's surprisingly industrial and mostly empty, and everyone I've ever been there with has said the underground mall feels post-apocalyptic, like the "after" scene in a zombie flick. This little sandwich shop, this tiny, unassuming little sandwich shop, is the best place in Crystal City. If zombies were to take over, I would want this shop to be my home base; I would recruit the nice lady who works here to feed my ragtag resistance. You can buy whatever kind of drink you desire from the bodega while you wait for your food, which is great. The sandwiches are fresh and quickly made with Boors Head meat, and the lady is open to substitutions - just no brains, please. read more

Love this little hole in the wall convenience shop and deli style sandwich place! My bf and I live nearby and have been multiple times to both eat in and take the food to go. Always delicious sandwiches and I've had their espresso which was also very good! The owner is a sweetheart and all the other employees are very friendly. Support your local businesses and try this place out. You will not be disappointed. The panini sandwiches are my favorite and I love the wide selection of drinks and chips. read more

Finding prior reviews for the Paramount Cafe helped me to make the decision to try out this sweet like cafe tucked away at the bottom of a high rise. The sweet owner was so extremely grateful for the business and the kind words her customers posted on Yelp. I had the Turkey bacon avocado in a wrap. It was just what I wanted and delicious. A great HAND-MADE sandwich shop that also sells delicious coffee as well as great beer & wine. In fact, the beer and wine selection really impressed me; lots of Belgian-style Ales and excellent value Spanish, Italian and French wines. This is my second trip to this location. The first time was good. i had a salad and they did a wonderful job making it. However, I was not as exited as i am today about my Gyro. OMG. I ordered this item and took it back to the office it was so good, I had to call the place and tell them how good it was. I normally eat a Whole Foods around the corner, however, this will be my new spot. OMG.....This is so worth the trip. read more

I love (L-U-V) this shop. All two times I have been there, I started off with an espresso, savoring every sip until the entree came. Then, I chose the the gyro lamb, which I call the "silence of the lamb gyro" for good reason. No words can express how downright delicious it tastes, and my taste buds are so overcome with delight that no words can escape my lips; not until, that is, an involuntary, "Mmmmmmmm!" finally does scurry out of my trembling lips. The owner (I assume she is the owner) runs the counter and is very friendly and helpful. The man who married her (I assume she has a husband) is very lucky (I assume she does all that wonderful cooking and is always so friendly and helpful). I was in the patio with friends, in the corner, not bothering anyone -- not fighting, not yelling, not approaching strangers. Security walked up, said there was "a complaint," refused to say who it was from, refused to say what it was about, refused to let me talk to the manager, and refused to even let me back inside to grab my own card. My friends asked him to stop. He ignored them. This is the second time their security has unfairly targeted me. The first time I had just stepped outside to take a phone call. The same guard ran after me and started accusing me of stealing -- but couldn't say what was supposedly stolen or who had complained, because nobody actually had. I told him my laptop and jacket were inside at the bar and that all the bartenders know me. He eventually apologized once it became obvious he had nothing. Same guy, same pattern, different night. Also worth knowing: my friend and I had just ordered around $100 in food and drinks at the end. Nothing finished. No refund offered, no apology, no manager. If management thinks letting one guard humiliate paying customers in front of their friends is good for business, here's your feedback. Plenty of better pubs in Arlington that actually respect the people

So come for the food -- but don't expect it to be a quick meal.

The more I go to this restaurant the more I like it…read more The food is good and they have a Happy Hour 3-5 pm for 30% off, Monday through Friday and includes alcoholic beverages. It's a great incentive to go early. The staff is friendly and tries to be accommodating. For example, I wanted my drink a little sweet. The waitress said she was making it and yes, she made it sweeter. It was very good. This seems to be a neighborhood go to place. Very family friendly. I've already been here several times in the last month or so. I meet friends there and they too enjoy it.

I made a mistake and didn't realize this was a fork and knife establishment. I picked up my pizza and all the toppings fell off. But to be honest... even with "fork and knife pizza" the toppings should not be goopy and slippery. Does the best pie and Arlington hold like that on the regular? Nothing special about the toppings either. The crust and dough were the best part of this experience, but an amazing pie, should have all component's complimenting each other. Is it decent pizza? Yes. Best pizza in Arlington? I don't think so.

This cafe is amazing, from its food to its items for sale to its staff! Their sandwiches are amazing, and they have a large selection of options to choose from. I have not tried their coffee yet, but as many others have said, I have heard nothing but good things. They also serve as a convenient mini-market for residents of The Paramount or anyone coming through the area. Whether it is for a quick meal or to grab some essentials, the Paramount Cafe is stocked to fill anyone's needs. The shining star though is the owners, who are incredibly friendly and nice. They take the time to make everyone feel welcome, and go above and beyond in their customer service. I have enjoyed getting to know them, and they make a great store that much more fantastic! I highly recommend anyone who is searching for a quick bite to eat or to stock up on their shopping to stop by here. read more

One of the greatest sandwich cafes ever. One of the sandwiches I really enjoy is Club Focaccia. You can see that they use extremely high quality ingredients inside. In Club Focaccia, it has black forest ham, mesquite turkey, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, and other various ingredients that you will love. The bread is also great quality! The meat is from Boar's Head. I highly recommend grabbing a sandwich from this cafe if you feel hungry. You will.not regret it! read more

Very happy I found this place! Sandwiches are great, they are made fresh and comes with a free bag of chips. You can get all kinds of espresso drinks, but I highly recommend their chai latte, hands down the best I've ever had. They also have beer, wine, and convenience items. We stayed at the Americana Hotel just around the corner and found this wonderful little deli. The nice lady behind the counter made me one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, loaded with sliced chicken and bacon...yummy! She took a lot of pride in her work and it shows.
