I originally thought about doing this almost 20 years ago but never took the leap, literally. As I was running towards the next decade of life last September, I decided to run off a cliff and get one more adventure in beforehand with Paraglide Maui's "Top Gun" Flight. If you are debating which flight to do, 100% worth doing the Top Gun flight. I was most nervous about the take off and the landing so you might as well get the most time in the air (12 min) in return vs. having to take off and land twice with the Double K for only 8 min total. Beautiful bi-coastal views as you soar through the skies with a Birds Eye view or exhilarating G-force maneuvers like the spiral dive. Do be aware that if you do decide to do the spiral dive, it shortens your fly time. What a memorable pre-birthday experience and thanks to co-owners Peter and Paul for capturing some of those moments for us and with us as our tandem instructors. read more

Our first time paragliding could not have been better thanks to Dexter and Paul. I'm afraid of heights and was quiet anxious going into it, but from the moment my feet lifted off the ground. Paul made it an amazing experience. I've done hang gliding (in Honolulu), but I was so anxious I didn't get to enjoy it as I did with paragliding. We did the 3,000 ft experience (highly recommended). Note: When they said dress in warm clothes: they mean dress in warm clothes. Lol. Dress for 50 degree weather. I would definitely do this again if it was for a different view. My first experience paragliding was absolutely awesome. I felt extremely safe and informed while gliding with Chris Hoyte my tandem pilot. We went through a layer of cloud cover and with the help of a compass, he navigated us safely through the other side. The views were stunning. Chris made it an unforgettable experience. What a nice experience. Very comfortable and peaceful. The flight itself lasted for about 10 minutes with some amazing views. There were 2 instructors - Dexter and Paul. Both were very nice and explained all the steps, answered all questions. Dexter has more than 10000 flights and Paul has more than 3000 flights. It looks scary from a distance but it's not. My wife was not feeling well and we had to cancel her flight with less than 48 hours to reservation and they refunded the money without any questions. Must do for anyone visiting Maui !! read more

Wife and I went for tandem flights here early in the morning. We got there early and were super rushed by Dotty to get in the van and get up to the launch point. This women needed a chill pill as she basically ruined the fun of it for us. For $380 for two people, they should be bending over backwards to make you feel welcome on their property but this lady was super rude. We did meet Dexter once, he was super friendly, nice guy. Too bad he wasn't filling Dotty's role. We got up to the launch point, which is fun in itself as it's steep inclines the entire drive up in a huge van. My pilot was a younger guy, said he had about 2 years experience. My wife's had been doing it much longer, like 20. Mine let me pilot around a bit, hers did not even offer it. So I guess that's hit or miss, maybe just ask if you can. Mine put us into a spin with some nice g's, hers didn't. My landing sucked though as the chair was smacking the back of my knees and I nearly faceplanted. I asked my wife about her chair and she said it wasn't hitting her knees. Not sure if that's normal, but I surely wasn't running anywhere with the chair digging into my knees when we landed! Once we landed, Dotty again rushed us to grab our stuff out of the van and move out of the way for the new group going to the launch. No thanks for coming, take care, need directions, etc. Maybe that lady was having a bad day, but I feel the trip was a rip-off solely for the poor customer service. I'm glad I did it, pretty killer views from way up high, but I wouldn't do it again. At least not with this company if Dotty still works there. read more

My daughter has always wanted to do this, so my partner and I joined her last week in trying paragliding. Each of us had wonderful, experienced and kind instructors who put safety first, and gave us amazing experiences on our first flights! He made me feel like I was the coolest guy on the tour, and he let me choose between a peaceful ride or a ride with tricks mixed into it. This is my family's 1st time to any island of Hawaii and we decided to try paragliding as an excursion while we are here. I almost just booked it for my husband & 2 teenage boys because doing something like this is extremely out of my comfort zone. Im so glad I booked it for myself as well. It was the most incredibly amazing experience ever. All of the instructors were knowledgeable, helpful, kind & patient. They were very accommodating to what each of us did or didn't want to do while in the air. (I get motion sickness and needed to keep mine smooth w/o any fancy maneuvers.) Dexter was my instructor and was very accommodating. (They also had me sit in the front of the van going up the mountain, due to my motion sickness) Its so worth every penny to experience this at 3000 ft. If you only do it at 1000 ft, you'll wish you had done the higher elevation. You get such an epic view of the city. Review for visiting pilots: Me and three buddies (all in our late 20's) decided to fly to Maui for a week of enjoyable paragliding at a new site. We are all P2's (around 25 flying hours & 50-80 flights). For the past year and a half, we have met such wonderful people in the paragliding community; People who want to grow the sport and share their knowledge about flying. Unfortunately, from the moment we stepped out of our car, our experience with ProFlight Paragliding left us frustrated and bewildered. Dexter, the person who runs ProFlight Paragliding, told us that he'd "cut to the chase" and be looking up our USHPA membership numbers so "we'd better not lie about being a rated pilot." We sat there perplexed that someone whom we just met would be so brash. We were consistently spoken down to, presumably because of either our age, where we were from, or perceived skill level. To his credit, Dexter did apologize after one incident where he aggressively told us to get out of a truck that was driving us up to launch. What was supposed to be a fun paragliding trip turned out to be very disappointing because of a couple large egos. read more
