I brought in a couple of sentimental, older watches for repair at Bradley Gough. According to the…read morecompany site, they are "experts" in watch repair and offer everything from battery changes to quartz movement and crystal replacement, etc. No job is "too big or small" for them "to handle," in their words. My watches had mechanical issues (they simply aren't working), which I thought was a battery. When I came in to pick them up, I was told that it wasn't a battery issue. I then probed further, but the gentleman who was "helping" me shrugged his shoulders and told me they were not able to figure out the problems. I then asked if that was all, and he nodded and said I should take them elsewhere. He was actually quite rude and standoffish. So, it turns out, Bradley Gough are not "experts" in terms of watch repair and the information on their website is misleading. Which leads this potential customer to question whether they are experts at anything. Of course, maybe I was deemed not "important enough" as a customer, given what I came in for. After all, repairing a watch is a far cry from an engagement ring. The interesting twist is that I am actually mulling a major jewelry purchase, and was considering Bradley Gough. However, I will surely take my business elsewhere after this poor display of customer service and credibility.

She wanted the diamond prongs checked but it wouldn't budge! It doesn't bother her but she was willing to have it cut off and resized. We are talking some money and time here! The courteous and knowledgeable person Pam assured us that this is a common problem with several solutions. The most expensive would take a couple of weeks to resolve if major changes needed to be made. When my wife walked in she saw the store was clean and well lighted. It had many displays of beautiful jewelry. The jeweler on duty was professional and accessed the situation quickly! He examined the prongs in question and assured her that all is well. There was no reason to cut off the ring or do any other work. There was no charge and we were happy campers! If the jeweler wanted to charge for his inspection or cut off the ring for major repairs we wouldn't have questioned his advice. Good place to shop for all your jewelry needs!!! Nice to see honesty in the business community!

When I asked about it, I was told the only thing she see is one of the baguettes is bigger. She said nothing they did would have caused that and it had to have been that way when I brought it in. She said I could leave it and she would have the person that worked on it look it over. They called the next day and said he agreed that they didn't do anything that would have cause it to be this way (They replaced they whole head). I entrusted this business with a grandfather clock that belonged to my great-grandmother and has…read moretremendous sentimental value to my family. The clock was working when Jerry took the mechanism for repair, but it had timing issues that needed to be corrected. When Jerry took the clock parts to his shop, he seemed genuinely enthusiastic about getting it working properly and told me to feel free to check in periodically. After approximately three months, I stopped by the shop to see how things were progressing. At that time, he told me he was still monitoring the clock because he wanted to make sure it would run consistently for about two weeks before returning it. More months passed without any communication or update. At approximately nine months, I finally called and left a message explaining that I was becoming concerned because so much time had passed. I said that if he was finding that the clock could not be repaired, perhaps at some point we simply needed to call it and have the parts returned. I was completely unprepared for what happened the next morning. Jerry called me twice within a few minutes. When I answered the second call, he began yelling at me and told me that when I was "in a better mood" I could call him back. Approximately 15 minutes later, he arrived at my home without prior arrangement, left the clock parts outside my front door, and videotaped himself while doing so. During this interaction, he told me, "Don't you dare follow after me," and accused me of treating him "like a 5-year-old child." He also made a point of saying that I "hadn't even paid" him anything. To be clear, Jerry had never asked me for payment during the months he had the clock. I had not refused to pay him or disputed a bill; there simply had never been a request for payment. Later that day, I went to his shop because I was still hoping the situation could be resolved reasonably. I was prepared to compensate him for the work he had done, even though he had never asked me for payment. My hope was that we could calm things down and either have him finish the repair or, at the very least, put the clock back together as it had been when I entrusted it to him. Instead, he told me that I had caused him a great deal of stress and that he was simply not going to do this. I left shocked by the entire experience. What is especially upsetting is that I started with an heirloom clock that was working, although not keeping time properly. After approximately nine months, I received the parts back without the repair being completed, and they were not even reinstalled in the clock. I understand that an antique clock can be difficult to repair and that sometimes a repair simply may not be successful. Had Jerry told me that he was unable to get the clock to run consistently, I would have understood. What I cannot understand or accept is being yelled at and treated this way simply because I asked for an update after months without communication. This was a treasured family heirloom, and I am now left needing to find someone else not only to address the original timing problem but also to put the clock back together. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. Regardless of whether a repair can ultimately be completed, customers should be able to expect reasonable communication and professional treatment.
