This is actually my first yelp review in over 10 years - I had to give a review for Paradise because they have surpassed my expectations on every mark!! First, Ziggy the owner is exceptionally hospitable. He will personally come to your table to make sure you love what you ordered. Ive been a customer for several years and since the first time I came to Paradise Ziggy always goes above and beyond. Secondly, the food has consistently been excellent. A few years ago I used to order biryani trays for parties then started coming in for carry out or dine in and every time everything I have tried is top notch. Recently I had their butter chicken and wow I was very impressed, it's by far the best (which says a lot!) I've had and surprisingly in a good way is more like a chicken tikka masala and not too heavy/creamy. Thirdly, they are open later than most indian restaurants in Troy and even delivery is 5 stars on uber eats or DoorDash. They don't skimp on quality when it's delivered through a third party service. Paradise makes sure they surpass your expectations every time no matter if it's catering, dine-in, carryout or delivery. If you haven't tried Paradise, definitely give it a try and hopefully you get to experience the warmth that Ziggy brings to each and every customer. read more

My name is Michelle. I work in Troy (new). I was driving by on my way home. Long story short....I found Paradise and was in paradise lol! I ordered the lamb dis and it was ABSOLUTELY amazing!! The lamb was tender but not "fatty". The rice was seasoned just as I asked. This place is amazing!! I got a hefty amount of great lean lamb and a great amount of amazingly seasoned rice!! The moment you enter this restaurant...the smells are intoxicating and your mouth immediately starts watering!! Biryani is one of my favorite dishes! I highly recommending that (ask for light to no spice if you can't take the heat!) I generally like my food very spicy but when ordering biryani I try to ask for mild to medium just in case. The seating here is good for families and medium sized groups. For parking, there is not only parking on the side of the restaurant but also in the rear! I definitely recommend coming here! If you enjoy Indo-Chinese like I do, you'll love this restaurant. I give them high marks for satisfying that craving. I tried the KOTHIMEERA CHICKEN and my favorite GOBI MANCHURIAN, both were absolutely delicious. The chicken was a little too spicy for me but I'll have to admit my tolerance has been lower while staying in Michigan. Manchurian is always best when dining in because it quickly loses its crispy texture when it travels home. I look forward to trying other dishes! I ordered a medium plus spicy level Chicken Thali and it was so prepared well and presented on the table in no time. The Naan was very freshly made and my first time all items were prepared in a perfect way. I am too nosey when it comes to chicken pieces, I can never eat a chicken that could smell old and here I finished the curry with the Naan and followed by using the curry for the rice and had the tandoor chicken at the end, with the single Gulab Jamun exactly adding a nice finish tot he whole plate, 5 stars and kudos to the chef(s) who prepared my dish. The guy behind the counter flatly told us we can't order anything from the menu. He no they only serve Biryani after 6:30pm. BTW, it is 4:54pm. Guess the guy doesn't know know what time it is at all. The butter chicken is always a good choice. I want to go back and try the buffet. The third time I went there I tried something different on the menu. The chicken was served with lots of bones and very little meat. I mentioned this to our server who brought us a little more chicken but it was still mostly bones. I thought I was ordering chicken kabobs but that was not what I received. Most of the patrons are of Indian descent so I believe the food is very authentic. The atmosphere is not fancy but I like the music and the overall vibe. I think they do a lot of carry out business. read more

My daughter and I went for the 1st time last night and had the such a wonderful meal and time. The owner greeted us, offered to talk us through the menu and made some great suggestions of what we might enjoy. Its obvious food is a passion for him and that translates to the dishes they create. For the prices charged at this restaurant, the quality of food should be held at a higher standard in taste. My order: - Goat Kadai - Chilly Chicken - A Portion of White Rice - Goat Seekh Kabab When I received my order, it was very messy. Both the Goat Kadai and Chilly Chicken were filled so high in the containers that it spilled as soon as the lids were removed. I appreciate receiving food that is full, but this was past that point and it caused a mess resulting in me having to clean when I received my order rather than eat. The restaurant should better proportion the food in the container so that it does not erupt like a volcano when opened. Both the Goat Kadai and Chilly Chicken did not live up to my expectations. The Goat Kadai was described as cooked with sautéed onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, herbs, and spices; moreover, the Chilly Chicken was described as deep-fried chicken sautéed with onions, bell peppers, and green chilies. The veggies were all very crunchy so any flavor did not really blend with the chicken or sauce. The Goat Seekh Kabab was the one thing that I absolutely loved. The meat was tender, cooked to perfection, well spiced, and it was enjoyable. It was my first time having this type of meat, and I was incredibly pleased. My visit had its downs and ups. It is difficult for me to make a recommendation because two of my dishes were below expectation and the other exceeded expectation. If this restaurant improved its presentation, food's flavor to be at an equal standard, and optimized their pricing, I would then recommend it. read more

Waited 50 minutes after being told it would only take 15 minutes... paid 75 dollars only for everything to be too spicy for my 5 year old and 7 year old children to eat after asking them specifically not to make it spicy for my young kids. Staff did not seem to care. Still made sure to charge me for the two sodas after refunding my whole order. I will not go back here and as an Indian i am disheartened to be treated like this by my own kind when i could have taken my business anywhere. Our 1st time there. My brother wanted to try. New place off Rochester Road in Troy. Open for Buffets. We entered the place, and found it to be a small location. Setup mostly as a takeout place than a sit down experience. Pictures attached. Seating is probably for 50 people and the place would be stuffed. Their one and only waiter was doing an excellent job of removing the used utensils from customer's tables. Buffet: Food was OK. The drink... Menu said Falooda with icecream, $4.95 kind of expensive for the amount served. There was no icecream. Maybe 2 percent milk, thats all. Nothing to remember as awesome. Wasn't stale. Just OK. The only thing I didn't care for, you have to pay before you can even sit down and sample their dishes. And the way their software is setup, you have to leave a tip to exit the software. I was driving down the road in Troy when I saw this place and decided to pull in as I have had a good experience at their Dearborn location. Unfortunately, this location is horrible. I would give it zero stars if I could. Where do I start with this place? How about that the value I got for what I paid is terrible. They served me the tiniest bowl of rice I've ever been served in my life. The rice probably wouldn't come out to a full cup of you measured it. I could let the amount of rice go if it were not for the fact that the chicken curry was microwaved in the kitchen before they brought it out to me. How do I know this? The sauce on the chicken curry was boiling hot while the chicken was lukewarm at best. I ended up burning the roof of my mouth due to the temperature of the sauce. I've been eating cold, soft food for the past day because of how badly my mouth god burned. Shame on these people. I can't believe I paid $16 for food cooked in a microwave! read more

A few weeks ago Paradise Biryani hired a new chef, his name is Chef Guru, a 60-year-old Yogi and he can cook amazing Sri Lankan dishes and he has been cooking some amazing dishes for me. Sri Lankan food is mostly seafood considering the country is a small island. If you like to try Sri Lankan dishes, call the restaurant and talk to Ched Guru about what you want and he will make it for you as they are not on the menu. Keep in mind Sri Lankan food takes a lot more prep time, thus call and place your order a day in advance. read more

A big fan of Paradise biryani disappointed. Their paradise Chicken fry didn't taste like it used to. Their Chicken 65 was all color and nothing else. Mutton biryani was only item that was Ok. Tried their Old city chicken biryani- all it has is rice and colored chicken on top of it. I will come back after a year to check if it did improve. Too much color and less taste.
