A nice beach with parking, trees, and lots of room to social distance. It's all very easy to walk to from the parking lot and find a place to relax for the day. I didn't see any lifeguards, but that was okay. What I didn't like was the proliferation of fishermen on Sunday while we were there. They had no regard to people on the beach wanting to swim in the water; they just kept casting their lines into it. I know I certainly wouldn't want to get hooked! The city should not allow fishing in a family fun area like this. We stayed on the beach by our hotel, where there wasn't as many fishermen, but there were still a few.

    Abundant seashells

Easy access , lifeguards, lots of sun, water and seashells . Snack stands ,bathrooms and playground.

I went to Paradise Beach about 1.5 weeks after Hurricane Nicole. Some entrances to the beach were closed due to erosion from Hurricane Ian and Nicole. Finally finding a spot l went in. Lots if seaweed, but it was okay. Everyone just wanted a little sun that day. The waves were a little rough. There were lots of kids outwit their boogie boards, like between 8-10 years old with adult supervision. There was no life guard around. I did take my beach chair and sit close to the shore and let a few waves give me a quick sea bath. There is a food truck available, also an area where you can have a nice gathering under a roofed area and a small playground. What l did not like was the horrific conditions of the ladies room. I was very disappointed and disgusted. And for a foid truck outside. I was really turned off. If there was an emergency, it would easily become life altering. I don't believe l will be going there again.

    Plenty of beach to enjoy

One of the better beach parks. Big parking lot. Restrooms, showers, volleyball courts, pavilions, certain hours a food vendor and a lifeguard(I believe). Walgreens and restaurants across the street if you need anything. A traffic light so you can safely get in and out of the parking lot. Gets busy so go early while there is still parking.

Beautiful beach park with multiple beach entrances. There is a nice playground for kids to play, a small food truck with made to order snacks, and a shower. The beach itself is pretty standard for the area, but beautiful nonetheless. There are dunes with taped off areas protecting sea turtle eggs, that are home to many different flowers and plants. The walk down to the beach can be stunning depending the time of day. Mid morning- afternoon the blue ocean pops against the green sea grape plants on the walk down. (I have definitely taken many photos of it over the years!) The shell scene is just ok, but we've found a few winners over the years. The waves/surf are perfect for boogie boarding or surfing. Sunset and sunrise can be very nice here, and there is a wooden walkway you can use as a lookout if you didn't want to get sandy or wet. Overall great area beach park!

Took a trip to this beautiful beach . Lovely views of the ocean . Clean beach area to walk on peaceful and quiet I'm sure during the summer it will be much busier. Lots of people taking pictures of the birds flying around. Looking forward to signing up to see the Sea Turtles when they come to visit again . Lots of tourists taking videos.

I have been going to Paradise Beach since I was a child and walk this beach several times a week. There are sand volleyball courts, restrooms, outdoor showers, free parking, and a playground area. The food truck onsite offers a large array of options as well as chair and umbrella rentals. The facilities are well maintained. It's great for surfing and paddle boarding. I'm only giving it 4 stars because our local government just dumped brown sand/dirt here to revitalize the beach. It's coarse and awful and definitely the wrong type of sand for this beach.

Ask the Community - Paradise Beach & Park

Are dogs allowed here, if they're kept on leash? They're small friendly dogs, and of course we'd clean up after them if they went to the bathroom.

Dogs are not allowed at this beach, however not even a half a mile north at the next traffic light is Canova Beach and they do allow dogs on that beach

The Melbourne Beach Pier is steeped in history. Located in Ryckman Park, the pier was built between…read more1888 and 1889 by the Indian River and Atlantic Railway Company. It was constructed from wood planks and pilings as was common in the late 1800's. The pier is the oldest known example of such piers on the Indian River. After the pier was built it served as a crucial transportation link moving tourists, residents, freight, and mail between the mainland and the barrier island. A railroad was laid from the ferry landing on the dock and across the barrier island 7/10 of a mile to the ocean beach. This provided access to the Atlantic Ocean by a pushcart and later by a motorized car. A ferry service was operated by the Beaujean family between 1889 and 1923. The railroad provided access to the island and excursion boats from the mainland communities brought winter tourists to dock at the pier. The community's first post office was located at the east end of the pier and provided the daily mail service in 1894. The building of the toll bridge between Melbourne and Indialantic in 1921 ended the pier's importance for island access. On April 12, 1984, the pier was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 1985 a restoration project supported by local citizens and state programs helped to preserve this iconic Melbourne Beach structure. Today the pier offers a panoramic view of the Indian River and is ideal for fishing, relaxation, and sunset strolls. I enjoyed my walk back in time down this historic pier, and best of all unlike many piers there is no charge to enjoy it.

Parking is free all around until 8:00 AM, but plenty of spaces and pay stations where you can pay with card. If you're taking a kid or anyone fishing for the first time and you want to GUARANTEE a bite, go to Black Dog Bait and Tackle like 5 minutes away, get one or two dozen live shrimp with a bubbler bucket and cast off any corner of this pier. I will say that the only thing that bit was catfish NONSTOP. They put up a fun fight and they come in all sizes and they rarely swallow the hook, but once you catch a couple, I suggest going to the beach or finishing up your bait at Geiger Point at Kiwani's Park. You'll have a better shot of catching some little snappers and drums (which you can't keep any size in this area). Super beautiful spot though for a kid's first time out.
