Despite the retro look the soundsystem is super high tech and there is a massive LED screen behind the dj with some folks doing live visuals. There is no getting around that RIPS is a true dive bar with some definite characters!! I enjoyed listening to some dark music and even found myself dancing! The DJ was great.
